Hair/Makeup in York?

I'm getting married at Blue Sky on October 30, 2010 and am looking for some good and affordable hair/makeup options. I did a trial in Saco, but MAN that is a heck of a drive to add in to the wedding day schedule!

Ideally I'd love spa and salon services, so I can spend the morning with my bridal party getting massages and nails, and then have mothers/grandmothers join us for hair and makeup.

Anyone have experience with specific vendors? I've found some online I can call, but I'd rather hear success (or failure) stories!

We have a Hindu service and a Western service on 2 different days but we're really just looking for someone to shoot the events and give us the disks or memory cards.

I;m three weeks from my wedding and i was planning on doing a boudoir shoot for my Fiance for a wedding gift, my cousin was supposed to shoot it. She is also doing my wedding photos. after cancelling countless appointments she tells me she isnt going to do them.
I tried contacting a couple other photographers but couldnt get through to anyone....
Some one help, I was really hoping to do this.

Today we looked at our last place for our ceremony/reception and we fell in love with it!

Has anyone else ever been to a small wedding at the Noble House Inn or stayed there before?

We think it's lovely! For anyone who is looking for an all-inclusive, small, flexible, and reasonably priced wedding package, this is the place to look.

My b pics are this Tuesday. I was goin to use Tess but she is no longer going to be in the Bar Harbor area so she gave me the name of another photog. However the new girl does not do hair or makeup. I am sure I can handle the hair part but was wondering if anyone knew of or suggest someone to do makeup in Ellsworth, Bar Harbor or anywhere in that area?If you do please please please let me know it would really help me not have to wing it myself.Thank you!

DJ Danny DeBruin, from DeBruin Entetainment. Debruin Entertainment recently merged with Maine Event Entertainment's DJ Mike Young, to be become Northeast DJs. Anyway, has anyone ever used/heard of him? The website seems awesome, his prices seem reasonable, and his communication is great through e-mail. I was just hoping to get any reviews from you ladies that might help us decide. Choosing a DJ is so hard!! I know nothing about it..

Bangor hair/makeup

Hey all. I'm not from the area so a lot of wedding planning I'm relying on MIL or figuring it out for myself. One of the last things I'm stuck on is hair/makeup for the wedding.

I'm in the Bangor area so does anyone have suggestions of what to do? The main problem is I'm getting married on a Sunday AND the wedding is in Dedham. Should I hire someone to come out there? Has anyone in this area done this?

Or should I go to Macy's or something in the mall to get my makeup done and just drive back to our wedding locale?

OR would is there a hair salon that also does great makeup?

ahhh I even had a nightmare about this, haha. Thanks for any help, suggestions, reviews, etc.

I know that a lot of you ladies will be, or are planning on buying a home or moving after marriage. Or maybe youre jut looking for furniture. I just wanted to suggest that you skip Bob's Furniture if you were thinking of purchasing from them. I bought from them last year, and shortly after my furniture became damaged. I've been battling with their nonexistant customer service since march (AND i purchased the extra protection plan!). I'm currently using the Better Business Bureau, hoping to come to some sort of resolution. Hi Maine Knotties! :) I've been lurking this board for awhile now but have never introduced myself! I'm from just north of Bangor and our wedding is at Penobscot Country Club in Orono on Jan 8th. We're super excited and most of our planning is done..still looking for unique guest book alternative ideas and I'd also love winter tree centerpiece ideas if you ladies have any as I haven't nailed that down yet! :) My main reason for posting is to see if anyone has suggestions for a Rehearsal Dinner venue in the Bangor/Orono area? The bridal party and parents are staying at hotels in Bangor the night before so travel worries. I'd be thankful for any hints!

I have plenty of options for a reception but a ceremony is where I am having a hard time with. I am in the Saco/oob area and in need of a ceremony location. I am not religious so no church, I would love to get married outside but there is always the chance of rain.

I am considering Highlanders Garden in Saco, Hurd Park in Scarborough (the beach), and fiances parents backyard

Does anyone have any suggestions to where I could get married??

Hey guys! 2 months from today i'm getting married!!! AHHHH

We are trying to find someone who can play a music instrument, acoustic, at our wedding on september 17, 2010 this year. Our wedding is in Cape Elizabeth, friday night at 530 for like half an hour. They don't need to play the traditional wedding songs, anything simple and pretty would be just fine!

So do any of you have a family member or friend that may be able to and want to do this. the instrument could be anything... guitar, violin, trumpet, sax, anything!! let me know if you have any connections or ideas!

Hey Brides!! I'm newly engaged in the Brewer area! Our wedding isn't until OCt 2011 and I've already started planning! I've got a few tours set up. One is with Morgan Hill and the other is Millenium in Newport! Have you had a wedding there? Does anybody have any good advice for a wedding on a budget! We need to keep it under 4500! Thank girls!
