SUPER disappointed. I liked the venue for the most part, how it was secluded, but the curb appeal wasn't that great. Well after I talked to John, saw the place, he gave me a proposal, way over what I felt I would spend at that particular place, and came back saying he only had Sunday's available in September, and one Friday and September 11th. So I e-mailed him back, over a week ago asking if he had any Saturday's in October. I have YET to hear back from him. So I went looking at other places and FI and I put a deposit down at CBRS! So happy and the people there are sooo friendly and helpful. So glad I decided to keep looking than deal with unanswered questions.

Hi! I just got engaged on New Year's Eve so my fiance and I are just starting this wedding planning thing - it's exciting but already I can tell it's going to be stressful as well. We're having the wedding in Maryland since my family is there and cannot travel but we're stationed in Kansas until December. It's difficult planning from afar since we can't go visit venues as easily but we're planning to make a couple trips back to MD to check things out. Now if only we can get our list of venues narrowed down...

We are hoping to find a location where we can have the ceremony and reception AND have accommodations at the same place. It's a bit of a tall order but we're hoping to have at least the wedding party and close family members stay at the same place. My fiance loves the idea of having everyone be able to hang out after the wedding as well. We're looking to either have the wedding on a Saturday evening or Friday evening.

I was hoping for somewhere that has a view of the water and will be a good location for pictures but we're open to other ideas too. Should be maybe around 100 guests or less (at least with the list we've come up with so far). Any help would be appreciated!

I have long, very basic cut hair so I've always done the walk-in haircut kinda thing---this being said I have no idea where to start looking to have hair trials! I'd really like to start through a recommendation since trial costs add up so quickly; who have you used that you loved? While I have my ideas for what kind of style I'd like, I'd really like to work with someone who I can trust to also add his/her opinion (with classic taste). I'm looking for a place somewhere between the Towson/Hunt Valley/Greenspring/Reisterstown area--thanks for any suggestions!!

Our ceremony rehearsal will likely be later in the day on a friday (around 6 assuming another wedding isn't taking place) so that people don't have to take a full day off work. The rehearsal dinner will have to take place at another location; what are some very budget friendly restaurants in the Stevenson vicinity to hold it? We have about half of the rehearsal party coming from Cecil County so we could also find a place around 695 on the way to 95-North, just preferably not downtown/farther away for them.

I'd love a place that's casual and low-key so that everyone can be as relaxed as possible. Thanks in advance!!

I just got engaged and am currently hunting for a venue. Our guest list is 150 and we are trying to stay around $10,000 - $11,000 for our reception. We also have a lot of out of town guests, so we want to make sure we can find a hotel that provides a shuttle in the area. I'm looking at the Padonia Park Club in Cockeysville, and it seems to be perfect for us. Has anyone had any experiences with this venue?

Okay, so I'm not the most planning oriented person (that's DF's thing) so I am really trying to get ahead on this wedding planning stuff. Our tentative wedding date is in September 2012. I contacted a bunch of reception/ ceremony sites so that we could meet with them when we visit MD (and my family. And his parents will be coming to meet my parents and all that mess) in April. We're currently planning from afar and are hoping the Air Force is kind to us at the end of the year and we get stationed at Ft. Meade. My problem is that at first some of the venues were all up in my email and seemed enthusiastic and now they are super nonresponsive to everything. I wanted to meet with as many places as we could stand but our list stands at a grand total of 4 right now.

I don't know if we're being much too picky or if it really is that much harder being far away. I'm just frustrated and I don't have as much time to plan things and neither does DF because we both work and travel so much. I guess if we have to make more than one trip to MD to work on planning we will, it's just expensive and stressful. At what point does hiring a wedding planner become the best idea ever? Anyone know any awesome/ badass/ decently priced ones? Someone tell me it gets easier/ better/ more fun after the venue is chosen???? Even if it's a bold-faced lie. :)

So a friend of mine was shopping for a veil today in Annapolis. The store clerk asked where she bought her dress and she said "Betsy Robinson". The clerk said for her to immediately go pick up her wedding dress because they are going bankrupt and her dress might be locked in.... Crazy right? Hi, I’m getting married in Baltimore on 9/10/11. I’m getting ready at a hotel in Towson the morning of the wedding. I looked into having a makeup artist come to me, but only one of my bridesmaids wants to have her makeup professionally done. Most makeup artists will only travel to you if you have 3 or more individuals getting their makeup done.
Does anyone know of any salons in or close to Towson that have good makeup artists? I’m open to any suggestions. Thanks!

Ok I have two things...

ALL- I booked a DJ back in March for my wedding that is in March..The issue is that I emailed him to give him an updated playlist and he never responded! two days later my hubby to be called him, and he said he got the email and that he is glad love is still in the air!!! That was it...Now Im worried if he will be onetime or even show up to my wedding! Am I tripping or is this a REAL issue? HELP!!!

I'm trying to find out if it's a scam, or just a high pressure sales situation.

The "prize" I've been offered is the choice of 2 wedding bands OR 3 days/2 nights at a hotel in one of 23 cities.

I've recently been looking for someone to make our wedding cake for our 11.11.11 wedding, and I've seen a lot of postitive reviews and talk about Mary Elliott who is based out of her home in Timonium.

I've tried emailing her (tellgoofy5 at comcast dot net) and haven't heard a response, and when I tried calling the # 410-561-5453, it went straight to an automated voicemail ("hello - we are not available to take your call right now").

Does anyone know if she has changed her # or email address? Or if she's still in the business? Or am I just impatient? I've heard such great things that I really want to meet with her! :)
