Free hoop slip for pick-up in Baltimore City

I have a 3 hoop slip with adjustable hoops. It was only worn once to try on with my dress. I didn't end up using it at my wedding. It has an elastic waist and would fit street size 8-12.

Faux Centerpiece Flowers??

I've decided to use ivory calla lilies, dk. purple calla lilies, green cymbidium orchids, and ivory hydrangea for my bouquet and my MOH's bouquet (no bridesmaids). My idea for the centerpieces was to have tall, glass vases filled with water ro include one green cymbidium orchid stem (with about 8-10 blooms) submerged in water,1 transparent candle floating on top and crystals at the bottom to hold the flower down. HOWEVER, I've had to cut my floral budget in half and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the orchids. Would it be uncoof to use real flowers for the wedding party and silk flowers for the centerpieces?

So gorgeous and all the guests raved about the venue. We used Hunt Valley for our caterers and the food was really good - everything went smoothly and they even included one of our personal recipes in with our selections which was great. Small Budget Wedding Suggestions

I am newly engaged and have just begun looking at venues. Even the seemingly budget-friendly venues turn out to be super expensive after adding in catering costs/alcohol.

Any suggestions on places where it would be realistic to host ~80 person wedding reception for under 5k?

I really have no idea how I'm going to pull this off. I am open to any type of venue- throw me any ideas!

The DJ is the one thing my fiance is interested in planning for the wedding. He chose Direct Entertainment & Videography because he likes that you can choose a DJ that doesn't talk a lot. I'm a little worried b/c he found them though a Google search and not through theknot.com or wedding wire, a recommended vendor list, or any of the other consumer-reviewed sites that are good for finding wedding vendors, and the only reviews I can find of them are on their own website. They're a big national company with people in just about every state. Has anyone out there used them? I'd love to get some unbiased reviews so that I can be supportive of my FI's choice and not second guess him!! Thanks!

I'm a little heartbroken to part with them, because I love them SO much, but even though the heel is just under 3" they are too tall for my dress. :(

I ordered them a couple months ago and other than putting them on my feet once to try them on and once for my dress fitting, they have never been worn.

They're from the Platinum line by Dyeables, made of 100% silk satin. The ornament on the toe is silver-toned with rhinestones. They are size 7.5 (I usually wear an 8 but the reviews online said they run a little large).

I'm going to be 1000% honest. I didn't feel the need to pay THOUSANDS of dollars for a wedding photographer. I KNOW that it's a once in a lifetime day, but I also know that after the initial excitement wears off, I'm not going to use those photos again (until, of course, I have children and they want to see them).... So I made the executive decision early on to forgo the uber-expensive (but lovely) photographers, and I started looking for someone different...

And I found him... he's AMAZING and better yet, CHEAP! :-) But cheap in a "you only paid HOW MUCH??" way, not cheap in a "I think your photographer stole my purse" way :-)

So, if you need a reasonably priced photographer.... check him out! I'll try to put the link to his website in here, but in the event that it doesn't work, google Farid Widjaya... he's based in Lancaster, but will travel to Baltimore areas. www.faridwidjaya.com here are two of my favorite pictures...

He's AMAZING, super-nice, has the cutest baby I've ever seen, and does a WONDERFUL job!

With the holidays and my graduate classes ending, and my laptop dieing I went MIA!

It seems like it has been slow around here. I haven't done too much. but we did finally pick the caterer so that is a major check. I would like to get one more check in before tax season hours at work kick in.

I have two big items done (venue and caterer) done, what do you think would be a good item to try and knock out next? Our date is 5/21/11 for those who don't know.

Bacherlorette Party Spa Day

My sister at the last minute has changed her mind about what she wants for her bacherlorette party. She now wants some sort of spa day. There are only about 10 women involved but even with such a low number, spa places are booked too much to get 10 people into a spa on an upcoming Saturday.

Anyone have any suggestions or know of an in-home massage therapist and someone who could do in-home pedicures? We are thinking we might have a better luck getting that put together!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Scottish/Irish handfasting

centerpiece/florist question

Hopefully these aren’t too dumb of questions but I have zero experience with anything flower-related so hopefully you guys can help me. I have an idea in my head for centerpieces with smallish vases (about 9 inches) in different colored glass (and possibly different shapes as well) with just a few different colored gerbera daisies in each. First of all – do florists usually provide vases? In your experience, do they tend to have different ones as I’ve described or do you think I’d be stuck finding them on my own. I’m sure calling a florist and asking would help but I just wanted to see what everyone’s experiences were first. Or another angle – since I really only want a few flowers in each as opposed to a huge arrangement, do you think I’d be better off just buying them somewhere wholesale and arranging them ourselves? Thanks in advance! I figure now that holidays are pretty much over I don’t have an excuse to slack on planning anymore! J

Wow, it's really been dead around here... must be the holidays! I hope everyone had a great holiday- whether Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, etc. Can't believe it's almost 2010!

Anyways... my mom, grandmother and FMIL and I went to Gamberdella's today to take care of some wedding related things. We got my veil ordered and hair pieces purchased! Woo hoo! And also chose the BM dress- it's Bill Levkoff # 557. The dress will be in ivory and the sash will be in indigo.

Just wanted to share :)
