I'm getting married in Holland in August, and I need help finding a florist!

I met with someone already who made up fake flower centerpieces (I didn't know they were going to be fake when I made the appointment - but I actually kind of like them!) and I'm meeting with Designing Dreams LLC and hopefully J's fresh flowers because I love the idea of a DIY bouquet, but have you worked with anyone I should try?

Affordable is key!

Renting an outdoor dance floor

Does anyone have experience in renting an outdoors dance floor? We're getting married outside in July and rather than dancing in the hot shelter, we'd like to set it up outdoors.

I've checked around on pricing, but was just wondering if anyone has rented a dance floor, who they rented from, the size and approximate cost.

My best friend is getting married in summer 2012 and she has a 300+ person guest list. They are both from Holland and are looking for a reception venue within 20 minutes of the Holland area that allows outside caterers. Any suggestions? The budget should hopefully be less than 2k for this.

I am looking for a place to rent (hall/venue)...empty hall or something for a party. I've looked for a lot of venues and they're so expensive and too much rules. I would rather have an empty place (with basic things..i.e. chairs, tables, etc) and I do everything else. Does anyone know of place in grand rapids, kentwood, wyoming , grandville, etc?

The food we are looking for does not have to be fancy, just good homestyle food i'm thinking your typical pulled pork or roasted chicken, I just know this is the kind of food my family would like. I am getting married in July 2012. I have always dreamed of a beach wedding in the sand.

I am planning a small, inimate ceremony (<20 people guests & wedding party). I would like recommendations for a specific beach perferabbly with stairs to walk on to the beach to. After the ceremony, I am planning just a dinner and cake. Could anyone recommend a restaurant that is good and most preferably with dancing? I am not hiring a DJ due to the small size of my group.

I would really love to use a hotel right on the beach, have the dinner at the hotel restaurant so there would be no travel involved. But any recommendations would be appreciated.

Also, if anyone knows of a rental house that would fit the bill, that would be great as well.

Hi ladies! FI and I are getting married at the end of December. We are waiting until summer to take our honeymoon but would like to go somewhere for 3-4 days after the wedding to get away. We'll be driving from Chicago so somewhere in the southern/central part of MI would be ideal. Hi! I am trying to figure out where to get my hair and makeup done, and I'm hoping for some suggestions! Ideally I'd like airbrush makeup. but I'm having a hard time finding anyone who offers it. So far I've only found two people who offer it, but they want you to commit to having X number of people also partake in the service and I'm the only one getting makeup done.

If anyone knows somewhere I can get either airbrush makeup or "regular" makeup that will actually stay put for the whole day, I'd appreciate the reference!

I am targeting Sunday, Sept 2 for my wedding day. I would love to set up a big tent (approx. 3200 sq ft) at a park somewhere in Grand Rapids for an outdoor reception. I am wondering if someone having their wedding on that Fri, Sat, or Mon would be interested using the tent as well, that way the rental cost could be split 50/50. Let me know. Thanks!

Courthouse wedding

So my boyfriend and I have been dating for 8 years.. we have a 6 year old daughter and another due in Feb, less than a month now. We have been talking about getting married for a long time but he just never proposed. So I did! Now he wanted to get a ring and then we can start planning a wedding. My Mom has been fighting cancer for over a year now and it has come back once again. She has decided that she will not do any treatments this time. So with her health not doing so good I want to have a fast wedding. So with little time to plan and not able to get too much money around we are going to have a Courthouse ceremony and reception at a restaurant in town. I have never been inside our courthouse so I'm not sure how it looks. I'm planning on having a photographer so that we can have pictures to remember this special day. Yeah its not going to be my "dream wedding" but just to be able to have my Mom there is going to make it all worth it. In the end it will be the same. I'll be married to the love of my life and was able to share our special day with our family's and friends. I do have my wedding dress because we got engaged a few years back but broke it off. So because I already have a wedding dress I'm going to wear it to the ceremony and find a small simple dress for the reception. Yeah not most people are going to agree to wear a big wedding dress or have my groom wear a tux to a courthouse wedding but its my wedding day and I'll wear what I want. So please no bad comments on that. But if you have been there and had a courthouse wedding or are going to but have helpful tips to make it more special please let me know. Thanks!

I have the best photographer...if you need one for a GR wedding (she really will go anywhere, I'm getting married up north) SHE IS YOUR GIRL. She's super awesome, affordable, flexiable, professional and above all, she listens to you. We had a wonderful time doing our engagement pictures and she made me and my fiancee super comfortable. Doug (my fiancee) HATES getting his picture taken. He did great!! She made it comfortable and was talking and joking with him that he just lit up and he said he even had FUN. Check them out!
