So apparently I completely spaced decorations for the reception hall until my FMIL brought it to my attention. I have my centerpieces but hadn't really thought of anything else. Since you are haveing your reception at the same place, I was just wondering if you are doing any type of decoration. I guess I just thought that it was decorated very nicely as is, and didn't need a whole lot...how about you?

I purchased a size too big for my cake table, but since the tablecloth went all the way to the ground, my caterer just put all the extra table cloth underneath. You could do this too.

- 78 7.5" Cylinder Bud Vases with green ribbon trim. - $120
Used 3 - 5 on each table as a center piece with one large bloom. Worked beautifully. Green ribbon was taped on and can be easily removed, but adds a nice accent for a wedding with kelly, or light green colors.

Using old stamps - extra glue?

Has anyone used old stamps on their invitations? I'm using an assortment of stamps and some are 1960s and older (see pic) so their glue isn't always in the best shape. Plus I've dug through lots of dusty boxes with loose stamps to find these, so I'm not so sure I want to put my tongue on them. I did try licking the ones for the RSVP envelope and they seem to be sticking, but I did think back to that Seinfeld episode about licking envelopes...

What do you think I should use to make sure they stay put? Glue stick, tape gun, any other options? Suggestions greatly appreciated, TIA.

After a long few weeks waiting for our contract and waiting to pay for the ceremony site to secure it, it's finally all taken care of! I'm so relieved. Everything else will all be fine now that we have a place to actually get married! :) And Black Bear Crossings on Lake Como is the most perfect venue - beautiful, outside but covered, and 5 miles from the reception! Way better than the Marsh, I'm so glad that fell through! :)

I have a question for you ladies that are married or are close to getting married. I am still a year out but have a concern thats been driving me crazy. Where did you start to figure out what time to do your ceremony, start photos etc..

We have the church, the location, and our photographer and DJ. The DJ will start music at 5 for the social hour, dinner music from 6-8 and dance from 8-12. So.. Do I start with the photog to see how long photos will be, then plan from there? This part is making me crazy!! TIA!

Dear self,

You checked, double & triple checked the programs. So it was really not cool, when we had 14 left to do last night, & mom noticed that your FSIL's last name is spelt wrong!! Ugh... I must of had a fat finger day & added an extra E in there! Called FSIL & she's not worried about it, but I was beating myself up. Such a stupid mistake, but we all decided that there's no way we're reprinting & redoing 86 programs over one extra E! Oh well, lesson learned!

SO My fiance and I are having a small dinner reception of only 50 people, and it is strictly 50 people. Would I be an asshole if I told my friends and his friends that they couldn't bring a date?? mind you, our friends are usually dating someone different everytime we see them or they are dating the same person, but we hardly ever see them and barely know them. With that said we prefer no dates to ensure we can invite more family and friends, without their "date" taking up our capacity. Its not like they will be coming to our wedding feeling awkward bc they all know eachother. When we send out invites we can send out a small explanation so there won't be hurt feelings? thoughts?

I'm a little over 2 weeks away from the wedding, and I am feeling very calm and ready to take the plunge. I feel like I'm forgetting things, but I think it's just me over worrying.

Can any of you ladies think of ANYTHING I might be overlooking? Small details? I figure, I got the dress, the rings, the marriage license, the FI and the officiant...that's all I really need to get married, right? :)

Engagement Pictures

Finally booked our flights to MN in September and spoke to my photographer this morning!! We decided that we are going to do engagement pictures while we are there (among 100 other things). 1 of the places we have decided to take some pics is Target Field (SO EXCITED)!!

I'm looking for suggestions of other places that we can go to take pictures. We are going to take most of them after 5pm or so and I dont want to jump around to 100 different places, just 1 or two close in proximity to eachother.
