I got my wedding band today!! (PIP heavy)

Hi ladies! So my FI ordered my wedding band on Saturday and we picked it up today! I love it!! It's just what I wanted- white gold to match the band of my e-ring. Here's a pic of it from the website (Helzburg diamonds)!

And here is a pic of it on my finger with my e-ring!

The wedding band is so much shiner than my e-ring since we just picked it up haha.

Postcard stamps and GRR!

First drama with all of my wedding planning. So I bought postcard stamps a week ago on April 12. I also bought my other wedding invitations stamps at this time. I think nothing about it because I ask the post office worker if there were any other postcard stamps other than the Polar Bear ones. She told me no.

I found out today after I mailed my invitations that apparently the postcards stamps have gone up a cent. My invitations were already sealed and in the mail after I found this out. I am so mad because the postcard stamp price went up on April 17th. I bought my postcard stamps 5 days earlier and never once did the postal worker mention this to me. GRR!

Now I am worried whether my RSVP postcard will make it back to us since we used the old 28 cent stamps. The only address we have is ours. So anyone have any idea if they will still mail them to us and simply ask us to pay the difference. Sure hope so or none of my RSVP will make it back.

Hope this helps others that were working on invites and have the old postcard stamps too.

Gifts for the wedding party!

Assuming everyone is getting gifts for their BM (I was told thats the correct thing to do) what are you planning on getting them? So far, I have gotten 3 of them little satchels for makeup or pencils or whatever they want with their initials on them. I got those from David's Bridal and I think maybe TK wedding store. I haven't decided yet what else to get, but I want to get something they will really use. Also I am on a budget, but I want to make sure I spend around the same on every girl so no one feels less important (well, maybe I will spend a little more on my MOH, who is my sister) What do you think is an approperate amount to spend on BM gifts and what did/ will you get them?

Catholic Church Dilemma

I come from a large Catholic family and my finace does not. He believes in god, but has no intention to converting to the Catholic faith (which I am fine with) and his family members practice a wide variety of religions. We don't want to have our wedding in a church because we don't want any of his family to feel uncomfortable or confused. Ideally, I would like to find a priest who is willing to preform a marriage outside of a church. That way, there could still be a religious tone to the ceremony without subjecting everyone to a long, drawn out Catholic mass/wedding. I've thought about just doing a Catholic marriage without the full mass, but my finace is adamant about not having a church wedding.

Has anyone else run into a similar problem? Better yet, does anyone know of a Catholic officiant (not necessarily a priest- possibly a deacon or other Catholic leader) in the area who may be willing to accommodate my request?

Any suggestions are much appreciated!

Hey girls,

I booked Jason Domingues for my wedding. I booked him early as I took one of his classes and loved his work. Over the past month I have been looking at his blog and recent work and now I am having doubts. His style is very artsy/trendy/photo journalism...which I like to an extent.

I am just wondering if any of you have used him?? Or if you have any advice? We are meeting with him next weekend and I didnt know the protocol on if it was appropriate to point out what I do and do not like!??

Any comments/advice would help my jitters!!

Wedding Venue Problems!!

I'm getting married in Aug and we are having are wedding at The Historic Stowe Building. When we first looked at it the venue it wasn't done at all it was still under construction. We spoke with a lady about catering at Hy vee and she said that she was gonna deliver a cake there. So I asked her to take pics and send it to me. She said that it was a mess!!! There was sawdust every were she said things were not done they were still painting and that was 2pm the wedding was at 5pm.. The pictures that she sent me were not what I expected or told it was gonna look like.. What should I do???? HELP I'm afraid that it's not gonna be done or im not gonna like the finished product... IS anyone else getting married there???

Good morning everyone! It is a beautiful day here (sunny and in the 70's) but unfortunately I have to go to school and I will be there until almost 8 tonight! *groan* Tuesdays are my longest day Also, I miss my FI when we are apart for so long. He would sometimes come to school with he and wait for me but now we have a dog and he wants to stay home and take care of her. Ill be lonely, but at least I'll get stuff done (maybe, I have a break from like 2 to 5:30) What are you ladies doing today? Anything more interesting than me?

I took some time to focus on school before I graduate in a month...and I'm 8, almost 10 check items overdue.
I'm sure I'll catch up as soon as I graduate....but how far behind -or- ahead are all of you??

Did anyone here get their dress from Nolte''s? I ordered mine in October and it is not here yet. They said it would be in the first week of April. I know this isn't always their fault, but I feel like they haven't communicated much with me about the status of the dress. Hey girls! As you probably know, the Stowe is under the radar and closed its doors for its summer 2011 weddings. We booked the Stowe building for next Aug 2012...and we really love the space and esp. love the amazing deals on the packages. We've already paid the deposit. My question to you all, would you get out now...or wait to see if they get their game together? I'm very torn if I should just ask for my deposit back now or wait and see what happens until they supposedly open for weddings in July 2011. I feel like after the fox4 newscast there's been some fishy things coming forward about the owner, Ryan. Again, we love the space and feel that if all the promised things happen, it will be an amazing venue for us. What would you do if you were in my position? Thanks!!
