Hi, Does anyone have any suggestions for all inclusive places in Big Sky Montana or close to there? We are going to take our honeymoon first week in Dec. We don't only want to ski, we want to snowmobile, snowshoe, etc. I prefer a (private) hot tub on the deck and we definitely want a fire place. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any nice lodges? Tips are greatly appreciated!!

Maybe this will make more sense on here, considering the fact that you guys are more familiar with the area. And as I've already been ripped apart on the etiquette board for daring to ask this.

The Facts The FI and I are considering Harriman Ranch in Harriman State Park for our wedding. We wanted to stay close to the greater Yellowstone area since we've already told everyone on our small wedding list (50 people max) that the wedding would be there.

We want the wedding to have a small intimate family reunion feeling since the guest list will consist of immediate family and close close friends in the wedding party.

Our wedding is over the fourth of July weekend, since I need a holiday weekend in the summer and Memorial day weekend and Labor day weekend are both out of the mix. I don't really like it, but I don't have much of a choice if I want my dad to walk me down the asile.

Everything is very very expensive in that area. As in a 100 plus a night. And we have families with children and everything coming (FI's brother and sister). And everything books fast.

The Harriman Ranch has three historical homes and ten rooms available to rent, and thus is able to house all our guests at very affordable rates. 100 bucks a night for the one room cabins and the most expensive house is 190 a night to be divided between two families.

The Negative: The ranch demands that we pay for the entire facilites up front if we want to be able to reserve them a year out in advance (otherwise, we'd have to wait until Novemeber and would run the risk of non wedding guests staying on site...wich would be awkward.

Question: How would we delicately tell our guests that they would need to pay us instead of the facilities for their rooms (this is not including anyone who has to cancel/decides not to come/ decides not to stay on the ranch obviously)? I know it's unsavory. And I don't like doing it, but I'd really like to avoid taking out loans to pay for my wedding. Considering the fact that I really didn't want to do the whole wedding thing to begin with.

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to plan a wedding in the West Yellowstone area. The FI's parents live there for most of the year, but we're currently living in VA. I was wondering if anyone could give me any help with some wedding vendors in the West Yellowstone/Bozeman area? His mother has a lot of connections in the town with caterers and the like, but not so many connections with DJs and tent rental places. I'm having a really difficult time tracking down information for this area and I want a good list to look through when I head out there for a few weeks this summer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (especially the budget friendly ones, which is why I've left Big Sky off the list because I've heard that that's the real pricey/ritzy area)!

We're shooting for an outdoor wedding in the summer (July 3 to be specific, I know I'm actually going to try and pull off a wedding during the weekend of the fourth next to Yellowstone national park. My FI thinks I'm nuts).

Thanks guys!
They want beef and potatoes only and half my family refuses to eat red meat. What have I gotten myself into? haha!

I would very much appreciate any advice or input you may have. Thanks!

I've lived in a few different places, but always in or near big east coast cities. I'm a little nervous to move so far away from the familiar, but I'm excited for the opportunity to live someplace new.So how do you like life in MT? Did any of you make the move there from someplace else? I work in the museum field - are there any museums in the area?(I know this is really more of a Nest question, but there are only two VERY old posts on the MT Nest board).TIA for your help, and congratulations on your upcoming weddings!

Hey all! We will be getting married in October at St. Patrick's. We are currently looking for a place to hold our reception. We are expecting to invite around 100 guests (so the final count may be anywhere from 60-100). We are looking for some place indoors that will hold that many people. Some options I've found looking online (we live in the DC area) are the Moss Mansion, Yellowstone Art Museum, Petroleum Club, Billings Hotel, and the Elks. Has anybody looked at these venues, know about pricing, size, etc? Any other good suggestions? We are working within a budget so any budget friendly options are greatly welcomed :)

Hi Everyone! I am new to the Knot and am looking for some help. My fiance and I are from NY and are planning a July 2010 wedding in the Bozeman area. Only 8 guests will be coming with us to the actual wedding. I am having a difficult time finding somewhere in Bozeman for us all to go eat a private (or semi-private) dinner. We want something unique to MT on our menu; elk, bison, etc. Somewhere nice, but not too stuffy or pricey, either. I'm also looking for a florist and a bakery for a small cake. I never thought it would be so crazy trying to plan my wedding, but I guess I can't expect easy when planning a destination wedding. I would appreciate any suggesstions, extremely appreciative of them actually. Thanks so much!

Does anyone have any suggestions on where to get hair and nails done? I am having a friend do the hair for my bridesmaids but I don't think that there will be enough time to get everyone's hair done along with getting mine done. As far as nails go I want to get some acrylics because I am a nail bitter and can never let them grow out. any advice would help, thanks Jess

Hi ladies,I am Chicago Knottie/Nestie that got married last month. I had a digital photobooth at my reception which is really popular out here. My dad lives in Billings. After seeing how big of a hit it was at my wedding he is considering starting a photobooth business. But I wanted to see if that is something knotties in Montana are interested in.TIA!

We are looking for a DJ in the Bozeman area... Anyone have any good suggestions? My venue gave me a list of a few, but I think their list must be pretty old because all but one were no longer in the business and the one that is still in business, is booked on our day...
