The Facts The FI and I are considering Harriman Ranch in Harriman State Park for our wedding. We wanted to stay close to the greater Yellowstone area since we've already told everyone on our small wedding list (50 people max) that the wedding would be there.
  • We want the wedding to have a small intimate family reunion feeling since the guest list will consist of immediate family and close close friends in the wedding party.
  • Our wedding is over the fourth of July weekend, since I need a holiday weekend in the summer and Memorial day weekend and Labor day weekend are both out of the mix. I don't really like it, but I don't have much of a choice if I want my dad to walk me down the asile.
  • Everything is very very expensive in that area. As in a 100 plus a night. And we have families with children and everything coming (FI's brother and sister). And everything books fast.
  • The Harriman Ranch has three historical homes and ten rooms available to rent, and thus is able to house all our guests at very affordable rates. 100 bucks a night for the one room cabins and the most expensive house is 190 a night to be divided between two families.
The Negative: The ranch demands that we pay for the entire facilites up front if we want to be able to reserve them a year out in advance (otherwise, we'd have to wait until Novemeber and would run the risk of non wedding guests staying on site...wich would be awkward.

Question: How would we delicately tell our guests that they would need to pay us instead of the facilities for their rooms (this is not including anyone who has to cancel/decides not to come/ decides not to stay on the ranch obviously)? I know it's unsavory. And I don't like doing it, but I'd really like to avoid taking out loans to pay for my wedding. Considering the fact that I really didn't want to do the whole wedding thing to begin with.

His mother has a lot of connections in the town with caterers and the like, but not so many connections with DJs and tent rental places. I'm having a really difficult time tracking down information for this area and I want a good list to look through when I head out there for a few weeks this summer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated (especially the budget friendly ones, which is why I've left Big Sky off the list because I've heard that that's the real pricey/ritzy area)!

We're shooting for an outdoor wedding in the summer (July 3 to be specific, I know I'm actually going to try and pull off a wedding during the weekend of the fourth next to Yellowstone national park. My FI thinks I'm nuts).

My fiance and I are looking for venue to hold our wedding at (July 2011).  We're looking for two scenerios

1. A venue where we can hold our reception (LIke the Gran Tree or Hilton) and have guests stay there (So it's not a lot of travel and people aren't driving that night) and a pretty outdoor space in Bozeman to get married at

OR

2. A place that we can get married, have the reception and have guests stay over at the location.

Any type of info around the Bozeman area would be greatly appreciated.

I'm currently looking for an affordable photographer. I feel like I've called every studio in Billings and am shocked at some of the prices!  We just can't afford to pay $1,500+ to capture the ceremony. Anyone know of a photographer who is just starting their career or is not well known yet?  Pictures are very important to me but we are on a strict budget.
If you don't mind sharing, who are your photographers? Any suggestions?

Also, I'm just starting to search for a caterer. Any suggestions for finding one or advice in general? I am currently battling my FI's family to decide on a rough menu. They want beef and potatoes only and half my family refuses to eat red meat. What have I gotten myself into? haha!

I have a booklet-type invitation and would like to include a quote on the side opposite the important part. Which option sounds better? FI likes #2.

2. The best to hold onto in life is each other. - Audrey Hepburn

I like the second one too, but an Audrey Hepburn quote doesn't quite strike the right note.
