Rustic/Comfortable NJ venue for under $100pp?? Help!

Hello All! My fiance and I currently live in California, and are trying to plan a September/October 2015 Wedding in New Jersey. As you may have already guessed, this is REALLY hard being 3000 miles away! We are hoping to visit venues this November and December, with the hopes of nailing down a location by Christmas.

So! We desperately need your help We are on a relatively tight budget (by typical wedding standards these days), and are trying to find a rustic location that can accommodate 100 people for UNDER $100pp. We are an eclectic pair, and would prefer a ceremony and reception that are both comfortable, unique, and rustic (as opposed to a traditional/glam/classic sort of feel). The silly theme we have so far is that, at the reception: "every table is a kid's table." So we are trying to find a location that is rustic but can support or childlike natures.

Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I already have a bridesmaid that is complaining about hair & makeup. We haven't even gone dress shopping or anything else since my wedding is next October. I don't think its fair to me or the other girls that this go on for another year+. Its only going to get worse. How do you tell someone that its probably best she just comes as a guest since it obvious she really doesn't want to be a part of the wedding party. I'm upset because I cant believe I even have to go through this. I guess you live and learn...

Addison Park bride here! I am just wondering if there are any other brides that have gotten independent uplighting for their receptions and if so, how much it cost. I received a few quotes for 20 wireless uplights, 2 truss towers for the dance floor (we are having a band and they do not provide lighting), and a monogram for $1175. Another quoted $1300. Is this reasonable? I have no idea. Any recommendations/suggestions would be very helpful! Thank you!!

I need a shuttle in the NJ/ROckland Area. It will need to bring wedding guests from the hotel to venue at 5pm and then back at 11pm. The trip is about 3 miles (8 minutes). There will be about 100 people.

How much are you paying for flowers? I really have no idea how much to set my budget at for this. My wedding is for approximately 250 people at Florentine Gardens….not too many bridesmaids maybe two pieces for the church…..was hoping to spend less than 10K….is this possible? Hi I'm the matron of honor in my friend's wedding next October! I'm planning her bridal shower in August. I've already booked a great venue in the water. Her wedding colors are Dallas Cowboys colors as she and her fiancé are both huge Cowboys fans. Originally I was planning a Chanel themed bridal shower since she likes Chanel too but now I'm rethinking that and considering a Cowboys theme. This may be a stupid question but Would it be weird to do a Cowboys theme for her bridal shower in August?

My fiancé and I were planning on having an October 2015 wedding, but after figuring out how much everything realistically costs, we pushed it back to October 2016.

I'm posting here because I need some help in finding a wedding venue. We are looking for a venue that can have both the ceremony and reception. We are looking for an outdoor ceremony in a beautiful location with a lot of nature and views (preferably near water, maybe even on the beach). We want to keep it small (50 people) and do not want to spend more than $150 per person for the reception - this is including tax, service charge, bar, tip, etc.

I have a habit of googling "best wedding venues in NY/NJ" and am not finding anything within my price range, which is of course expected.

Any information you could provide me with is GREATLY appreciated

Hi all!

I have an appointment in two weeks to "re-tour" and book this venue because we were in awe of how beautiful this venue was. I suddenly just got very nervous about the food since I'm seeing so many mixed reviews. None are recent.. Can someone send me any info they have on how merry makers are? Food quality, how much food, were you able to negotiate on price per person? There platinum package is now $165 pp and the liquor is close to $5K. We will have many off the boat italians at our wedding and food will be number 1 (esp since the venue is absolutely beautiful).

I would love feedback on your experience with the venue as well!

I am looking into wedding venues and the only venue that really wows me from start to finish is the Ashford Estate.

Given the prices on the website, we visited with Laura and tried to negotiate with her since well we have a limited budget and would like enough money to pay for everything else.

Did anyone have success negotiating with them? If anyone can give me a general idea of the pricing for everything, I'd appreciate that so much!

Also, how is merri-makers. I'm concerned with the mixed reviews on the internet and it seems like there is a lack of food compared to other venues I've seen. I'm also not crazy about the separate liquor charge. Any help would be much appreciated!

I've been looking at officiants and they're prices just seem crazy to me 350-600 for just the ceremony and no rehearsal? That's insanity. The ceremony I want is 30 min tops but I would like to rehearse. Does anyone know any decently priced officiants?
