Hello ladies,

Havent been here in a while, but have a bit of a dilemma and wanted to reach out to get some opinions. We are having our gues stay at Hilton at Short Hills.The only decent hotel close to the venue. The hotel does not offer complementary breakfast and the cost for breakfast in restaurant for guests is $20/pp. Since we are paying for our wedding, it would really be too much for us to pay for everyone adding another 2k to the budget. We simply can't do it. Does anyone have any ideas for what I can do for my guests? Have anyone stayed at this hotel and what have you done with the breakfast? Most weddings we attended had some kind of breakfast the morning after. I feel bad not providing it to our guests. Please help.

So we keep hearing we asbolutely need a videographer for our wedding...but unfortunately it seems out of our budget.

Unless, we find one within a cheaper range...say under a thousand. We know it won't be the best but at least we will have something. So if any help you can give would be appreciated!

Oasis Band - and Pricing Questions

Apparently I'm all about the NJ Board today (thanks for all the guidance!).

One of our possible venues recommended Oasis as a reception band and everything we have heard so far has been great. He quoted us $6k which is apparently $500 off of their normal price. I have absolutely no clue what most people pay for a band or what is reasonable. I worry that he thinks we are desperate for a band since we are possibly booking only 6 months out. Thoughts or advice?

If you have an experience with this band, I would love to hear from you and if you are comfortable sharing what an average price for a band is, that would be incredibly helpful.

Meeting with Orlando tonight and I thought by the pricing on his website he would be in our price range but as i'm looking at previous posts i'm starting to think i was wrong. Does anyone have insight on how much his packages usually are? His website states they start at $3500 but i've seen posts where people have been quoted $6000 and sometimes its not even him that comes to the wedding!! HELPPPPPP!!!!!

Alterations Central NJ

Hi Ladies

I purchased my dress from Davids Bridal, however I heard their alterations are awful. Does anyone have recommendations for alterations in Central or Northern NJ? My parents live in Sayreville which is where I'm storing the dress and I live in Hoboken.

The only alterations I need are for length and the bustle. Are there any thoughts on how much that should cost? Any recommendations are sincerely appreciated!

I was looking for some suggestions that others may have for a nice place to host our rehearsal dinner at. The requirements we are looking for are a place that can sit between 25-30 people comfortably, possibly BYOB but not a dealbreaker, most likely Italian but open to some other suggestions, and of course to have really great affordable food. Price range is around 30 dollars a head to include everything. We would like the place to be within Hudson county, around North Bergen would be even better.

Hi!! Im getting married next year and about to sign the contract for my venue. Since we have small party of 50 and want saturday evening wedding, only option available is starting at 7pm.
Isnt it too late? The concerns are..

Half of guests have to drive 1hr to go back home after ceremony(yea they live in NYC)

There will be some kids and older people (I dont think they can stay late..)

What if they dont get food til 8pm? (yea the worst problem.. there will be some miltary guys)

The only good thing is we have no plan to dance!! still worrying.. Should I give up this venue? I fell in love with this venue though.. I have 2nd choice which is perfect for everything else exept the interior that I didnt like much. hm.. I wanna hear what you guys think!!

Catering & dinner rentals for 200 guests

After searching and comparing prices of usual venues, now I'm considering to possibly just rent a space and find all vendors separately. What would be an avg cost of catering for 200 people sit down dinner style (upscale menu), wait staff included? I also would need to rent utensils and plates and the whole nine yard! For venues that do all inclusive work, I can do max of $135/person. Would doing things separately be more costly? FYI, I'm in Bergen county.

I have decided to postpone my wedding, just under two months away from the date! Unfortunately, my venue (that I love) is holding me to my contract. I am looking for a bride or interested party to take over my contract. I was able to secure a great pricing deal, as I signed with the venue before construction was completed! The venue is amazing with a roof top bar, two story ballroom and spectacular views of New York City. I am also offering monetary compensation to the lucky individual who can help me with my dilemma.

Hi girls, Hopefully you can help...I'm in a pinch...two weeks ago I went to my first dress fitting and had NONE of the above although the SHOES are major! I've been to Macy's, Nordstroms, Lord and Taylor's, DSW, MJM, etc. I'm short and wanted either a taller wedge or a platform but couldn't find anything. Everything in department stores was gold or silver...I'm looking for ivory! Where in Central NJ did you find your shoes or gosh even up north but preferably around me. I can't order online because I need them in a week and want to try them on. Any stores that have a large selection? Also, will need a larger crinoline for my Casablanca A-line dress, WHERE in the heck do I buy that? I don't like the one my bridal store sells..it's huge!! Also, where did you get your veil?? I guess I can find a long line bra somewhere but some stores dont let you return them...gosh this is tough!! All HELP kindly appreciated. Danielle
