Hi everyone,
I am getting married in Davidson this coming November but live in Texas! I will be in the Charlotte area for less than a week next month to plan the whole thing- plus find a dress. I am a street-size 16, so I know I will need a plus size- dress- any ideas on places that have quite a few plus-size samples to try on? I DO NOT plan to order a dress online, and am avoiding Davids at all costs. Anyone know anything about Poffie girls or Hopes bridal in Kannapolis? Any help would be appreiciated!
The caterers we are using do most of their business during the holiday season and couldn't do much for us until recently anyway.

My situation is that we have what we [thought] we wanted as far as food, but the estimates we've been given are thousands of dollars higher than what we said our budget was. While it includes all the rentals (linens, dishes, etc.--BUT tables are included with our venue) I REALLY don't think we have a ridiculous amount of food, so I can't imagine why it's so high. We are doing very heavy hors d'ourvres.

We're getting married at the end of May and the caterers want to finalize everything soon... do you think they'd want to punch me if we changed our menu? I purposefully chose a non-all-inclusive venue so we could save a little bit of money, so I am NOT okay with going over budget.

Am I being crazy here?
Hey girls!

So this weekend started out having nothing WR on the schedule, and I ended up maybe changing our date! Ahh!!!!!

I've emailed all of our vendors and am still waiting to hear back from our photographer, reception venue and the church. We have heard back from our florist and he is all for it!

Everytime I think about our wedding, I imagine spring/early summer, a big white tent, lots of southern style, seersucker, bow ties...and everything that goes along with that. The problem...we're getting married in December.

FI and I had a serious talk about it on Saturday night, then we went out with a bunch of our friends and I talked to them about it. I also talked to my mom yesterday and then some more friends today. I'm really leaning towards moving our wedding to June 2, 2012.

It would give us more time to save, we could have the wedding I keep envisioning in my head, we could do the tent at our current venue (The State Club has a terrace/patio thing that is enormous to the side of the building). As long as they have the date available and so does church and Kellie, I think we're set to change.

I am sad that we're getting married 6 months later, but like Meredith said, we're spending the rest of our lives together. And it's not like our lives haven't already started together. It would also give FI a little more time to get settle into a job after taking the bar and we'd be able to go on a nicer honeymoon because he'd have more time to save up for that!

What do you girls think? Am I crazy??

So, I've been reading the reviews on the DB in Raleigh, and they are baaaad. Does anyone have any personal experience there? I would at least like to check it out, whether I get my dress there or not, but I'm almost afraid.

I probably don't want to spend more than 700 or so on a dress, so if anyone has suggestions for another place, I would really appreciate it. I read some reviews from A Beautiful Day Bridal in Durham and those were very good (it's 40 or so miles from me, but I could handle it). Also, Savvi Formalwear in Raleigh had some good reviews.

Just wanted to write and say that I hope everyone has a great weekend! (yes, I know it is already Saturday, but I had class earlier so NOW it's finally the weekend for me!) My mom and I finally got our act together and planned out everything that is left to be done. I hated being so disorganized! Who can remember all of the stuff that needs to be done while working on wedding stuff, working a job, and worrying about schoolwork? Anyone doing anything exciting this weekend? Big plans during the week?

Also, does anyone have any great etsy shop favorites? There are so many out there!
