Hey Ladies!!! I just recently got engaged and we are sooo excited and I can't wait to start planning. I have always known that I wanted to be married in the Catholic church. All the crazy restrictions aside, my faith is a huge part of my life and the catholic ceremony is just awesome to me. Here is the issue: We currently live in Raleigh and are members of a church in Raleigh, but we would love to be able to be married in Wilmington or at the Outer Banks at a catholic church and have the reception on or near the water. It is a combination of both mine and my fiance's dream weddings. I have been looking at catholic churches and have found a few but most either say we have to be members or they won't book the date til 6 month out (which is CRAZY to me). Any suggestions?!?

-Mine- I finally rode the youngster horse I've been working with. My neighbor was leading her around (she's not completely broken in), but it was a huge accomplishment for me and Goldie (horse). Last time I tried to ride her alone, she almost killed me. Lol

What are you looking forward to for this awesome weekend?

-Mine- Finding out what the surprise is for this weekend (DH is being vague and sneeky. .but has his cute smirk on) :)

Just got an email, and for those interested, Bridal Mart in Burlington is having a trunk show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (2/18-2/20) with Impression Bridal. I just thought I'd post it for you all if you want to go to see the new Impression dresses. Totally not a vendor. I already got my dress at David's Bridal. :-)

I visited the Greensboro bridal show a couple of weeks ago and had a great time. I got a phone call yesterday (voicemail) that was from a place called the Bridal Registry and they said I had one some toasting goblets and another prize package.

Anybody gotten a phone call like this?

My life= crazy busy, so sorry for the lack of posts/involvement! So, update, I found my dress!! Woohoo, such a load off my shoulders. But I do have a question regarding getting it altered. I realize that this late in the game Olga may not be available, but what I really have a question on is how/when to call. I ordered the dress so I am not really sure what specific alterations should be made, so I wouldn't know what to tell her/them. Do you just make an appointment for whenever you should have the dress by? I have no idea how all this works, haha. I know you knotties will be able to help :)

I'm going tomorrow!! I'm so excited!

It's just going to be mom and I, which will be so much fun! We're going to Nitsa's in Winston (not too far from my mom's) and then coming back to Raleigh and going to Traditions and then Priscilla of Boston on Sunday.

Have any of y'all gone dress shopping yet/have any pics?

Any advice?

I did think ahead to bring the shoes that will be the same designer/style as what I want for my wedding shoes (just the wrong color).

Invitation Proofs In!!!

So excited that my invitation proofs came in tonight via email. I waited til the last minute to order them because I had a tough time finding the perfect invite, but I did find it and finally ordered last week--for a May wedding. Nothing like procrastination. They're not in color--those proofs would have been $40, which is ridiculous--but they're still really cool. And things are really moving fast now--and I've still got a few things to do. Yikes!!

I'll post a photo of the final invite when it comes in. Hopefully really soon . . . .

FI left early this morning for Haiti. He'll be gone a week. He was so excited to go, and I am happy for him. I have been a nervous wreck about him going though, so I was very proud of myself this morning at the airport when I held it together. But when I got to church this morning and they had them on skype (they had a long layover in Miami) I almost lost it....

Help! I'm visiting in February and trying to set up appointments. Silly me thinking I had tons of time =) Two of the bakerys (Sister's Mcmullin and another one) are all booked up already and a lot of other places I've called are getting close to full.

Does anyone know any cake bakers that opperate out of their home or any that can do a cheap cake? I'd like to keep it around $3.00 per serving.

Also I think I need to find a hair salon for updos. Anyone have any recommendations on any AFFORDABLE ones? I looked at a bunch and all their prices are $70 /> and I just think that's too much to ask the girls and moms to pay. I'm thinking in the $40-50 range. We can do our own makeup.

Everything else I think I'm doing well will...hopefully lol.

I bought a Groupon last year to use for our engagement photos. I ended up winning an engagement session from our amazing photographer last month and no longer need to use the one from Groupon. I would love to be able to sell it and one of you guys use it for your photos.

I paid $39 for it, it's a 1.5 hours shoot, and here is the link:
