Hello Ladies!

I am so confused today and I was hoping that someone, anyone, can help me out. We are considering a venue here in Fayetteville that does not include in tables and chairs, but the room itself rents for much cheaper than other places. Our dilemma of course, is that we would have to rent the tables and chairs necessary for throwing a wedding reception. My question is this, would it be cheaper to just rent a place for the standard couple thousand that comes with table and chairs and linens and things, or get the bare room and maybe that will save us some money? i have called around to CE Party Rentals and Classic Party Rentals, but I haven't been able to get anyone on the phone. Has anyone had any expecience with either of these companies or know about their prices? If it is the same prices, we are thinking that maybe we should just pay the extra money and already have the tables and chairs. Please help!

BTW: We will have about 225 guests at our wedding. Thanks! You ladies are the best!!!!

Is it necessary to have the cards in something that is somewhat secure? Who are the potential sketchy people? It better not be my guests....

Just looking for some suggestions. I would love to use a mailbox, but I don't exactly have an extra one lying around. I also like the idea of an old suitcase with a slit cut in the top, again, I don't have one lying around.
I'm looking for a well made gown for the right price, I definately don't want to spend over $2,000.00. I've googled bridal shops in the area but I don't want to just pick one blindly. And honestly the reviews don't give much information on price, just how great the service was. So long story short does anyone have any first hand experience to share!!!

Thanks in Advance!

I've been hearing the 4.50 to 5.50 range, which sounds high to me! I will pay for good cake of course, but just wondering if I'm paying too much :)

Thanks!

Hi ladies- third post in a row and second to last one this morning I promise! (Trying to catch up from my hiatus :))

Has anyone worked with/interviewed Evergreen Studio (in Charlotte) or Simple Moments (they have a Raleigh office, but I'd be using Sabrina in Charlotte)? We met Simple Moments this past weekend, and are meeting Evergreen this week.

I definitely clicked well with Sabrina at Simple Moments. Plus, she'd provide all day coverage with an assistant, meaning I can get pics of FI early in the day too. Her pricing was lower, and when my mom asked why, she was very candid in saying that she's only been photographing professionally for 2 years- her SIL runs the office in Raleigh. And, I liked Sabrina's work!

Anyways, any feedback you all have would be great! :)

Hi everyone! I'm new here. Just engaged as of 7/19/10 and planning a 9/10/11. I want to get married on the beach. My fiance and I plan to get our wedding party small with just 2 attendants. I'm not really close to my sister even though we live in the same town. We get along fine but just arent close. I would rather use my two best friends as maid of honor and bridesmaid but dont want my sis upset w/me. What do you think? My fiance thinks I shouldnt worry about it since we arent close but he's a guy so I need girl opinions.

Just thought I'd pop in and introduce myself! My name is Emily, FI is Craig! Right now our tentative wedding date is Oct 29, 2011. We are both from the Wilmington area, but currently stuck in Dallas, TX (BOOOOO). So naturally we are planning to get married in Wilmywood.

Our wedding date depends on two things...first is his best man. He is in the Navy, and we are waiting to make sure he isn't going to be on deployment for the wedding, because, well, that would suck! Second is Craig himself! He is planning to go overseas himself for a contract job in September. It's a year contract, so if all goes according to plan he would be back next September. So here is hoping!

We both want an outside wedding, but not on the beach (I'm thinking the river). And right now still in the early planning stages, as our money is going towards getting him ready to go over (passport, physical etc.). I hope to get to know you all better, and good luck with all your own planning! ^_^

First off, we made a last minute decision to add some fans to our ceremony based on the fact that the weather has been absolutely blistering. I bought these black paper fans and I was wanting to attach a small note with something crafty. We're going to be outside at Lake Lure if that helps with some creativity =)

Centerpieces! This picture is old, we've since curled more of the silver pieces but still leaving some tall and I love how they look. I'm having fuschia pintuck overlays with the centerpieces on them. Do you think I should A.
I'm trying to get A LOT of things completed before I start back to school in a couple of weeks and was making up a basic draft of our program. I got to the Thank yous on the back and was just going to write some notes for when I'm ready to finish them up.

Here is the issue (or what I think is an issue?). I know the thank yous are supposed to go to both sets of familes (Fiance's and mine), though, Fiance's family has been almost completely MIA the whole time we've been dating. 4 years of dating and I've met the majority of them 3 times. They currently live an hour and a half away and have never come to visit us (we are always the ones to visit them).

The only thing I've gotten from them about the wedding is a cousin demanding her and her other cousin needed jobs in the wedding (via Facebook), and a question about what color dresses I would want them to wear (via Myspace).

My family on the other hand has been here for both of us since the beginning. We've gone through a couple of really rough patches (not in our relationship but just life things) and my family has dropped everything to come help/support us. They have been there 24/7 since the beginning and are extremely involved in the wedding planning/decisions and really just with our lives.

As far as thank yous go, I want to express my extreme gratitude for everything my family has done for us and really tell the world how thankful I am for all their support and care over the years.

I thought about writing individual cards so I can really personalize it but I still want to put a thank you on the programs and make a speech at the RD.

So this leaves me with this: If you were in this situation, how would you handle this?

I feel as if I write this big long thank you, keeping up with how my families will be, about how amazing Fiance's family has been and how they have been so supportive and such to us would be a complete fabrication. Most of our wedding party/guests would probably know that to. On the flip side if I make both the thank yous really short I feel as if I'm really jipping my family, and I really want everyone to know how thankful I am?

This also goes for our speech at the RD?

Let me know what you guys think. Sorry about my long, rambling post!

Ok, here's the update! wedding dress = best birthday present ever!

we went back to darlynns, and I tried on the dresses i had narrowed down- there were 3, plus two others that i decided to try for the first time. i am so glad i didn't purchase on saturday- the dress i loved just wasn't doing it for me! i ended up buying the VERY FIRST dress i put on saturday! it's an allure dress, i will post a pic as soon as I can find one! i would have never tried the dress on because i'm so short, i didn't think it would work- but it's totally the one and has everything i love!

and, we decided to go with the black strapless BM dress from DB! i had my sister try it on, because she's the most "busty" of the bridal party, and it looked great on her!

goals for the week: put deposits on the catering & dj!

FI and I are off to meet with the travel agent! have a great day everyone!
