Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the wishes and vibes. It was great visiting my grandmother this past weekend and I already learned something else about her.

July 3rd is her wedding anniversary. She has been married to my grandad for 65 years! (He passed away 2 years ago on Memorial Day). He was one of the soldiers who rescued her from a German concentration camp in WWII and they were married in 1945. They are both Russian and moved to Troy, NY after the war.

Anyways, she is doing good. She has such a great attitude and is really trying. She did have a stroke and won't ever be completely well. She knows that I believe, but still keeps trying and exercising her left side on her own. She is also eating everything they give her. She moved out of the hospital and into rehab today in Charlotte.

I have the most wonderful neighbor. I found my flower girl dresses at Nordstom's. Only problem, there was a pink ribbon on the dress. Pink does not go with my colors. Well, wonderful neighbor is taking off the pink ribbon and putting on a black ribbon. She is also recreating the ribbon flowers.

Yesterday, we were both outside watering our flowers. She tells me to come inside quick so I can take a look at something and give her an opinion. She had started working on the flowers and wanted to know what I thought. Well, of course they looked great. She had also picked up three headbands while at Joanne's so she could MAKE ME headbands for the flower girls. This is such a wonderful woman.

The pictures show the work in progress on dress #1. The ribbon still needs to be sewn into place.

I owe her and her hubby such a big thank you gift.

Goooood Morning!

Hard to believe that today is Thursday...I'm definitely NOT complaining about that! Did wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning though...the bedroom clock has always been 15-20 minutes fast...so when I roll over it looks late and I jump up. Well...last night he changed it back to normal...so I THOUGHT I was getting up right at 7...but it was actually 7:15...talk about putting a kink in my morning! Sheesh!

Had an invitation nightmare...at this point I really could care less how it all looks. I was printing my own (FI's family owns a copier company...and I work there too) and we could NOT get them to do right. I finally got the invitations done and the response cards were a complete bust. None of our equipment liked that paper. So created a cute postcard on Vista Print to include, created cute matching labels and realized I didn't put the ZIPCODE on any of them and I couldn't change it. So I guess I'll be tacky and write the zip on the postcard response card and I ordered another 400 of the labels for $7. Geez. I was like really?!? I'm over it at this point.

Another fun day in sales beating up the streets in 100 degrees...whew! Hope everyone has a great Thursday...its almost the weekend!
However, we found a new location (High Grove at Laurel Lake) and since we are now having a tent wedding and it is in the summer time, the red, black, and white, that we originally liked for our vintage wedding is not going to fly. We really really love the down home, southern ,clean, simple feel of it. So anyway, again, we need new colors for a summer wedding that will look nice. Help!! Thanks!!

good news: i found my dress! bad news: i didn't purchase today.

so here's the run down. we started at DB, and the dresses there were fine, but i didn't fall in love with anything. also, i'm very petite, but extremely busty- most of the DB dresses i couldn't wear because the top of the dress felt too revealing!

after my bridal appointment, my mom and i looked at BM dresses. I fell in love with a short strapless black dress with pockets- sounds funky, but is so cute! and, after trying it on myself, we had a wedding colors conversation- as you all know, i never truly decided on colors- and came to the black and whte conclusion! so, i'll do black and white, with bright multi-colored flowers. (we finished the day at the museum with that in mind, and i'm so excited now, i think it's going to be great!!)

next it was off to darlyns. i started with BM dresses there, and found a very similar black strapless dress as the one from DB. then it was on to bridal! i started with the maggies, but just wasn't crazy about the corset back on me. i narrowed it down to 3, and tried on one final one that i hadn't considered before- AND I LOVED IT! it has lace, beading, sparkle, is fitted- everything i was looking for! i can't remember if it was allure or casablanca, will post a pic asap.

my mom and i decided to sleep on it tonight, and go back on Monday (which is my birthday!) with my sister and grandmother, try on the 4 one more time, and buy! i know the last one is "THE ONE" and it's such a great feeling!

ok, that's it- happy fourth everyone! best wishes for safe and happy holiday!

Hello laides!

I am having a fall wedding but I am not sure what colors I want to go with. I don't really want the typical fall colors of brown, orange, yellow, and so on. I also don't want the colors to be so dark or too bright. Any suggestions on what colors to use for a fall wedding?

Thanks!
