How far in advance did you book your venue? PLEASE HELP!!!!

My FI is deployed to Afghanstan and isn't coming home till mid September. Our wedding date is September 21, 2013. Do I need to book a venue ASAP? Do some venues have a specific time frame in which you can book a date (no earlier than 1year prior)???? I would live for him to visit different venues with me but I don't know if I have the time.

how did you choose your venue?

I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed on the venue options. There are many but it seems like they are booking like mad for next year. How did you guys choose? It's also difficult to come up with the bottom line price for everything. How many venues did you look at? Why didn't you choose a certain place?

Any recommendations on the following would be awesome:

-station 67

-the vault

-the bluestone

-cultural arts center

-greek orthodox cathedral reception hall

-any other place downtown (minus the art museum and statehouse)

I am in desperate need of help! I recently moved from Columbus to Cincinnati, and we are in desperate need of finding a church in the Hilliard/Dublin area that will do non-member weddings. We keep finding some that say "out of town" residents are not allowed, but resident non-members are. Any help would be appreciated! We don't have too large of a guest list, and are not picky about the denomination. Thanks in advance!!!

I don't think this should cost upwards of 2000. The post I had previous is erroring so if so if anyone would care to repost their advice or add new photogs, I would really appreciate it. I am starting to freak out.
I want something fun, not necessarily in C-Bus. I was thinking Put-In-Bay b/c I have never been there and it sounds like a blast. But now people are concerned about the cost and you HAVE to book 2 nights at any hotel on the island which is double the cost. I don't want to just get a hotel room downtown/ brewery district and cruise the bars. What I do want is lots of drinks, dancing and fun with my best girls. I understand that people have to think about money, I do too! My fiance and I are paying for this whole wedding by ourselves BUT I don't want to look back and realize that my last night out before I got married I didn't get to do what I really wanted todo. I went along with everyone else's bachelorette plans, but now I have to compromise when I am the bride. Am I being a giant baby????
What did you ladies do for your "hen night"? What are you planning to do?? Please help me...

So we announced to his family on Sunday during breakfast that we were engaged. His dad knew and was fine with it.. but not a single congratulations from his sister or his mother, she's upset we're not getting married in a Catholic church. I'm not Catholic and Jon doesn't consider himself Catholic...his dad stood up for him and said it's really not that important now a days for the kids to get married in a church.

She doesn't like the idea of us getting married May the Fourth because it's silly (May the Fourth be with you).

I feel bad, i mean it's about us not anyone else.. but i know his feelings were hurt.

:( any advice?

The first time I got married, it wasn't hard, I chose the colors: Red Black and Ivory

Now i'm trying to avoid red because , thats what i had for the first wedding and I don't want that one again.

Possibilities:

Chocolate Brown and Tiffany Blue
Navy Blue and Grey
Burghandy (other colors, not sure yet)
Royal Blue (With other colors)
Deep Purple and Lavender

Hello all,

I went and checked out another venue today and just wanted to let you all know about it. It is on front st downtown, right off of greenlawn in german village/bewery district area. It is a yellow building that I have drove by a number of times and thought well that is interesting, kind of looks a little dumpy. But go inside it is really nice!!! There is a lobby that has a nice chanderler and then go up a few stairs and you enter the large room. It has tile floors but looks interesting, the walls are white with black shutters and there is a beautiful bar dark wood. it has black covered lights on the ceiling, I will post pictures soon. But just wanted to let everyone know about it.

You can bring your own caterer and your own alcohol. They give you 6 hours of party time for 1000 dollars, and 1/2 is due up front. They allow 2 hours set up 1 hour tear down, they set up tables and chairs and they have some linens you can use. She also said i might be able to set up the night before or a little early! so if you are looking cheak this out.

P.S.: on thing I learned today was that they do not approve of budweiser products! lol it is because they are not a sponsour of CD101

My wife and I just wanted to share a great recommendation for our DJ: Fiesta Sounds(www.fiestasounds.com). We met with John Wilburn and were greatly impressed from the very start. Our initial meeting was very encouraging and assuring and we decided to go with Fiesta Sounds on spot at our first meeting. Our actual DJ ended up being John’s associate, Justin Weaver, who was just as impressive. Both John and Justin were very organized, thorough and accommodating which left my wife and me very comfortable (we are very organized, detail oriented, type-A people). They paid careful attention to what we wanted and had a plan to make sure everything fell into place as we wanted it. In addition, they were by far the least expensive DJ we were considering, and there are many opportunities for discounts. We were looking to have a very fun and lively reception so the DJ was a very important decision for us, and Fiesta Sounds delivered. They were preemptive in troubleshooting and had all the details in place so we didn’t have to worry about a thing. They also coordinated with our other vendors (photographers, caterers, etc) so that everyone was on the same page. Our wedding had a couple of hitches in it, which Justin handled wonderfully, and he did a great job as the emcee/coordinator of events. At the end of the day, our wedding was one of the most fun we had been to, and we owe much of it to John and Justin. We were 100% satisfied with our experience with Fiesta Sounds, and I recommend them to any and all have a wedding in the Columbus area.

Has anyone used them? Mitch has been extremely hard to get a hold of. He first refused a sit down meeting and asked if we could schedule a phone call instead, but our schedules kept clashing. I finally set up a meeting with him for last night, and he did not show!

It seems like his reviews are great on weddingwire though, so should I give him another chance? I'm wanting to use him for a cocktail hour pianist, jazz trio for 2.5 hours and then a sound tech for the rest of the night to play our playlist.

We had thought about blue originally but then I thought about purple and now burghandy. I LOVE RED but I was married once before and it was red and black and silver.
