Does anyone have any experience with the ballroom at the Hilton Garden Inn in Perrysburg? I have 1/3 of the ballroom on hold for a small wedding (50-75), but I haven't seen the contract or tasted the food (which is included in the price). Any insight would be helpful.

Parkway Place DJ/Cake

Has anyone had any experiences with the parkway place DJ? I know that their highest package includes the DJ, and I wasn't sure what to think about it. Anyone heard anything good/bad/indifferent about it?

This package also includes a cake. I know that the lady who does the cakes owns her own business, and from pictures I have seen, they look good visually, but who knows how they taste. Anyone had a cake from there?

I"m having a vintage wedding and Sorry to say other than organization the Knot hasn't been any help. So I've decided to add my little bit for those in our area who are interested.

First of all the vendor list make Toledo look like some little town you would just drive threw. As we all know thats not the case. I'm having a Victorian inspired wedding and decided to have it at Mansion View on Collingwood Ave. Its the nice little B&B (bed and breakfast) that you can also rent for events. And There also is no seamstress listed. I even checked the phone book here people! But Sow and Such on Sylvaina Ave. does wedding alterations at a decent price. And sadly again the cake companies in our town don't list here either! I don't know maybe they are lazy or something. But Wixy bakery and Cake Art are two fine ones. I'll post more as I find it. I'm a bride to as i said! Always looking for something interesting and new!

I have had the hardest time with tablecloths! Every rental place in town wants atleast $18 per cloth which I refuse to pay! I remember someone on this forum recommended linentablecloth.com since they won their weekly trivia on twitter.

I don't have the patience for trivia, but I have been stalking retailmenot.com for coupon codes and I'm so glad I did! I just ordered 20 132" purple table cloths and 34 light purple table runners (to form an x on the table) with free shipping and 10% off! My budget was $400 and I got it all for $360!

I would love to hire someone for my wedding, but don't want to spend a ton of this type of service. I really don't even have much information on how much videographers cost, but I've been told by several people that I should strong consider hiring someone for my wedding!

Thursday mornings just kill me...

I don't know how many of you know, but I'm still in school, finishing up my last semester here at good ol' Mount Union. Well, Thursday mornings, I have to go work at our library (yay, workstudy) at 9 am. Not too bad, right? Well, that's what I always thought, but I can NEVER seem to get here on time!!! I try so stinking hard... What drives me really crazy is that I get up in plenty of time to get ready and whatnot. The problem is that I go work out with FI after I get off at 10, so I have to bring all my workout stuff with me. And I don't get to have lunch at any point today, so I have to bring food with me (which I ran out of time to put together today... ugh once again). And I don't get to go back to my apartment until after my voice lesson, which is over at 3:30. It REALLY shouldn't be that bad, but it is. I have to shower before I go to work, but I don't really want to do my hair or anything because it's just going to get nasty when I go run anyway. But for some reason, my hair never wants to cooperate with me on Thursday mornings. Oh, and it's always especially cold on Thursdays, so I can't throw my hair up in a messy bun, or my ears will fall off from freezing as I walk over to the library.

Lots of stupid stupid things just making me very upset today. :-( I really need to just... I don't know... start organizing stuff the night before, check the weather, etc.

I can't wait until spring. I'm so freaking sick of cold. And snow. Blah.

My DH purchased my e-ring and wedding band from Osterman's and he purchased the service plan to go with everything. Well... I would strongly suggest that everyone purchase this extra security if their jeweler offers this. I somehow managed to chip the main stone on my e-ring and Osterman's is putting a completely new 1 ct. stone in the setting for me. They are also tightening a couple of loose diamonds on the band itself. There is no additional charge over the original service plan price. It was painless, easy, and no questions asked. I think I would have literally cried right then and there if we had to pay for a new stone, or keep the damaged one.

I now have to wait 4-6 weeks to get my ring back. I also have the e-ring and the wedding band soldered together, so I don't have either. DH laughed at me because I was upset about my naked finger and I went out and bought a cubic zirconia fake to wear in the meantime! Ha!

Dollar bill/lotto ticket bouquet

I posted yesterday looking for help with making a dollar bill/lotto ticket bouquet.
Here is how it turned out. I am still playing with it a little bit, but I like it so far. It was much easier to make than I anticipated. I added some fake flowers for some colors.

Backstory on this: I reallllly don't want to do a bouquet/garter toss and FI reallllllly wants to do one. I said we could do one as long as everyone (married and single) is invited to participate. FI agreed and we decided to use a dollar bill/lottery ticket bouquet instead of a regular toss bouquet in hopes of getting everyone out to the dance floor.
There's $20 total between the dollar bills and the tickets. Should I add more?

Wixey Bakery Question

My venue includes a cake from wixey bakery, but they told me all arrangements are done with wixey and its included in our total. So I called WIxey and asked who does the wedding cakes there and who I should make an appointment with. They told me I dont make an appointment and that they just have the stuff in the back for us to taste. Is this normal? Everyone else I have talked to does formal tastings where you actually sit down with someone and try several flavor/fillings and discuss the design. I dont want to just show up some day and be wrong.

Ordered my shoes

Met with Fiddlestix to look at invites. I did find one I loved and the price if well within our budget. I also really like the girl there. I am going to go to Puttin on the Glitz this weekend, just to get another opinion though.

And my BM's - all but one - ordered their dress'. It wasn't as fun of a day as I hoped. But, oh well, that project is done.
