Hey everyone. Question about Dj's. How did everyone go about choosing thier dj? Did you go by reccommendations....do you ever get to listen to them before you actually book them? Does anyone reccommed any in particular?

So I havent booked a hair stylist yet.... Im debating between Jill ( up your do) and Meghan (Hair by Meghan). Both do good work from what I see/ hear.... I do think Jill is a little over priced, but then again she replies right away,unlike Meghan. I did book Cindy Singer for makeup and I know she works with Jill.... I just feel torn, Help !

I'm torn. Should I cancel my wedding?

Fiance and I are getting married 6/1/12 at La Luna in Bensalem.  Garden ceremony on site as well. We were supposed to be having 90 guest. Our bridal party is our 5 kids (my 3, his 2) and my maid of honor (cousin) and his two best men (brother and best friend).

I already booked the photographer and gave money down on the reception.
My dilemma is that my family and I aren't talking anymore because of gossip my MOH started. She and I since have made up. We used to be very close and always talked about when the time came that either of us got proposed to by our boyfriends.  My boyfriend proposed to me in May of this year. Hers has yet to ask her. Ever since I got engaged she has been distant and doesn't really want much to do with me. She just makes excuses that she is busy.

We went to try on dresses and she didn't like anything.  I'm alot busier than she is. I have 3 kids and work full time. Fiance's kid's are over on the weekends.

Anyway, I just about had it with my family.
I don't know if I can just not invite them. Or should I just got to city hall and get married and just have a nice honeymoon? I really wanted our kids at our wedding though.

When I told my MOH that I'm over sooo over this wedding. She tells me I should call it off and just go to city hall.  If I go on with the wedding, I feel like I shouldn't invite her. WIthout my family there, I only have a handful of friends. I'm usually a loner. I don't think I know 90 people to invite. The minimun # of people I can have at the reception is 90.

Oh and if I cancel, what are my options on canceling the reception location? Do I just lose my money? Or can I transfer it off to someone else?

What should I do? Go ahead with the wedding or cancel and elope?

P.s. I already got my dress a couple weeks ago.

I'm finally getting around to ordering wedding pictures, but am having a hard time narrowing things down. So, my question - how many wedding pictures do you have displayed around your house? What sizes are they?

My order so far is 4 8x10 and 2 5x7. The photographer already gave us a bunch of 4x6 and most of our favorite ones are in that group.

I have a David's Bridal lace trimmed cathedral length veil in ivory that I would like to sell. IT HAS NEVER BEEN WORN. I was sold a cathedral length veil to go with the coordinating fingertip length veil to create a layered look. After my practice up do, we've decided that the look isn't working :(

The veil is sold by David's Bridal and on Amazon.com for $200. I'm selling for $180. Its really a beautiful veil!

Catholic Churches around Philadelphia Area- Non-parishioner

My fiance and I want are moving to Michigan, but we want to have the ceremony and reception back where I grew up outside of Philadelphia. My mother and I don't exactly have good ties with the catholic church I grew up in so I was looking to find a catholic church outside of philadelphia or possibly in the city that would let us get married there without being a registered member? Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm looking for a church within a 35 mile radius of Philadelphia (so i'm pretty much open to anywhere that will let us get married there)

I love going to weddings where I can take home a picture of my friends and I, but I feel like EVERYONE is offering traditional photoboots. Any companies you know of that do out of the box ideas? I love the background screen with props but don't like that you can't get a copy of your photo. Our personal sytle is hip, creative, adventurous. And of course we are on a tight budget!

I went to avante salon and spa in west chester last week to get my hair dyed.. I wanted it basically the same color, but just uniform, which was a light brown with some gold/copper tones in it. I got dark auburn hair! I was very unhappy with it, and told me they would re-do it again for free. I had it redone, telling them I wanted it lighter and without the red.. they just put color on top of it. I now had blackish red hair. It's awful. Its almost a week to my wedding and my hair looks crazy. I booked an emergency appointment at david witchells in newtown... I was referred by one of my bridesmaids. She says it'll cost about 3-500$, but its worth to get my hair back to normal, and have a peice of mind on my wedding day.

So I went in to POB in Ardmore tonight to check out BM dresses (going to a black tie wedding and wanted to find a long dress that didn't break the bank). And holy crap do they have a TON of wedding dresses left! I saw a $3000 marked down to $600. So if you are still looking for a dress, I would highly suggest heading over there, the deals are amazing! I makes me want to go dress shopping all over again!

Ceremony/Reception timeline question

We are having our ceremony and reception at the same venue. Our ceremony will probably take 30 minutes, followed immediately by cocktail hour. So 5pm wedding, cocktail hour from 5:30-6:30. How long should the reception be? I was thinking 6:30-11:30, but my fiance says that seems long. Aren't most receptions 5 hours? Thanks in advance for the feedback!

They are out of Jenkintown and online they seem to look the best out of the list of caterers we are allowed to use, but our venue hasnt had them do an event there yet so I dont have any real idea how they work. Has anybody heard of them? used them or know anybody that has used them?

We just got married on 9/4 and everything went perfectly. If I could do it all again I wouldnt change a thing! We spent an Awesome 2 weeks in Hawaii, and Im just starting to get used to the time change and back to reality. I just want to thank everyone for all of your suggestions and advice. Massage the day of the wedding?

My fiance has been talking about how he'd really love to get a massage, and I was considering surprising him with one the morning of the wedding. I found a place he can go that's right down the street from the hotel he'll be staying at. My question for you is this: Is this a good idea? I've read varying reports...some people say a massage the morning of is great because it gets out all of the pre-wedding jitters, while others say it relaxes you TOO much and you're sleepy the day of. Any advice would be really helpful! Thanks, guys!

Tendenza- the new Cescaphe venue?

Does anyone know anything about Tendenza? I am in love with the Atrium, but it requires a minimum headcount of 200, which I probably can't make. I believe Tendenza is only 160 minimum. My only concern is, it's going to be tapas style...not a sit down dinner.
