We just moved here to Philly a couple weeks ago and while I'm loving it here, I'm also a little lost. I don't really know where everything is... So in a couple weeks a couple of my friends and I want to start the shopping for my dream dress.

Where should I go???? Any suggestions of where to avoid?

Help Girls!!
I planned to have a family friend do my flowers but he lives 5 hours away. He was going to bring everything here assembled but the cost of a vehicle to transport all of the flowers is $600. Yikes!

Now I am looking for somewhere to buy all of the flowers so he can make the arrangements here. Any ideas or recommendations?

Bridal shower 8 months before wedding?

I've been contemplating having my bridal shower in August - 8 months before the wedding. There's several reasons why I think it would work out really well for me, but then I just think it's plain weird to have it so early. So I wanted to get your opinions.

Reasons for having it early:

My mom has always wanted to have my shower in our backyard where they live at the shore. If I don't do the shower in August, it'd be in January, so that wouldn't be an option.
FI and I are moving in together in late June, so it would be nice to get all of our new stuff sooner rather than later
I have two MOHs. One is living in Europe right now and will be home in August. She'll also be home again Dec/Jan but the weather is iffy then and it'd just be so cold.
MOH #2 is likely moving to Florida in the fall, so she'd be home in August still. She'd also likely be home in Dec/Jan
One of my FSIL/BMs lives out of state and is doing her residency, but will be at the shore for August
My current SIL will be at the shore for part of August

Negatives:

I haven't registered, and don't really want to until I'm done with the stresses of moving. So I'd be registering only 4-6 weeks from the shower.
It's SO early.
I wasn't planning on doing my save the dates until the fall - so I'd have to think about whether to rush and do them before the shower invites go out or keep them on track.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

After two and a half years here I am finally getting married.

Thank you to all of the ladies for your advice, listening to my vents, making suggestions to me, explaining jokes I don't get b/c I don't live here anymore etc.

Thank you to all the ladies who have moved on to the nest or no longer post as well.

I just talked to my venue and I can't believe it's so close!

I am starting runs to the airport tonight, so it's all go from now on.

Happy (almost) Memorial Day Weekend!

FI left for his weekend-long bachelor party last night. He's talked about nothing else for months now, so I'm happy it's finally here. I'm just hoping all 15 of the guys going make it back in one piece.

I'm looking at a weekend of yardwork and housework, hopefully with some fun on Sunday. I'm hoping the guy who is fixing our a/c makes it here today and gets it up and running! It was SO hot in here yesterday and sleeping was not fun.

107 days until my wedding, and my event coordinator "isn't with the company anymore". Now the reception place has no recollection of any of my correspondence or my contract. Hopefully they're going to work with me and not change the pricing on anything... but still. REALLY? Ugh, this is unnecessarily adding to my stress!!!

Any ideas for me in case this place completely falls through?

I've been in a few weddings but in each of them, having hair/make-up was completely optional. I'm having someone come to do my hair and make-up the day of so I was going to extend an offer to the girls.

Did you have everyone in your wedding party get their hair done? If so, did you pay or have them pay? Just trying to figure out what info to give my stylist for planning purposes. Most of my BM's are traveling for the wedding so I don't want it to be too expensive for everyone.
