So my dad bought me a string of pearls to wear on my wedding day. He is so proud of them and excited for me to wear them. It is such a precious gift and I really hate to disappoint him, but I don't like the way they look with my dress. It totally changes my look. I would honestly rather wear no necklace at all, but I'm not sure how to tell my dad without hurting his feelings. Any suggestions?

Downtown Charleston - summer bugs?

We are looking at having our reception at a venue downtown that has a lot of outdoor space. We know August is hot and have moved past that...but now I'm worried about bugs? We can spray for them, but I know that doesn't guarantee 100 percent removal. How bad is it? Or is it not so bad? I've heard until sunset then you're ok....any advice appreciated!

I'm in a bit of a situation and need advice. My father and I have a bad relationship. In fact, we haven't spoken since he told me he wouldn't help with the wedding unless he walked me down the aisle. I was just going to not have a father daughter dance. Problem is, my fiancé and his mom still want a dance. I totally understand, but then would it be awkward for me not to have a dance? My stepfather, grandpa and future father-in-law would be happy to dance with me, but I don't know if my dad will be there or not. I don't know what to do and my wedding is in a month and a half. Rustic Barn Venue in Near Aiken/Columbia/Augusta

Hey Everyone!

I want to have a rustic chic themed wedding. I'm looking to have it October 2015. I'm looking for a rustic (well maintained) barn venue. I really like Perry's Landing Barn Venue (oppose to their garden venue) in Hepzibah GA but it is on the far end of how far from where I live in Aiken, SC. It's not far to me (about an hour) but I'm worried local Aiken friends will not want to make the drive because most have horses and pets that would complicate having them drive any sort of real distance. All other guests would be flying in, but the majority of guests are located in and close to Aiken. Also, Perry's Landing's actual barn is on the small size for the size wedding I'm looking to have (200 people maybe more) and even though they assure us they've done a 350 person wedding my family would feel more comfortable if we went with PL Barn to also rent a tent.

My question is if anyone knows of any other rustic barn venues around Aiken/Columbia/Augusta area. It does not have to be all inclusive or even include anything but the actual structure (although if the outer area were decorated with Christmas lights and mason jars in trees sort of thing that would be a bonus).

Any suggestions (that you know would actually be willing to host a wedding at their location) are welcome!

Fi and I got engaged last month at the Lake Murray dam in Lexington, and I'd like to go back when the park is open for engagement pictures. We are from the upstate, and I'd hate to pay a photographer to drive all the way to Lexington when I'm sure I can find one already there. Myrtle beach-reception on the beach

I am planning on getting married at Myrtle beach it will be in September. I plan to rent a beach house for all my family. I want to have the wedding on the beach, and i Was hoping to have the reception at the beach house. However I am not sure if there will be room inside. I plan to inivte 65 people but I am not sure how many people will show up. I have very few family that live really close. I was trying to do a reception outside, but I know it can be really hot.

How would I do a beach reception if im not at a hotel or venue? Its trickier than grass if i was to put up tables and chairs. Im clueless please help.

I hate how when you got through a venue they have a limted menu and alcohol is so expensive, i want to have the freedom to do what i want.
