I found 36 " sparklers with a burn time of 3.5 min. in San Antonio for my wedding this weekend and today is Thurs. If you live in San Antonio or surrounding areas you can pick them up in San Antonio instead of having them shipped to you. Bridal Shower Locations

I'm going to be throwing a bridal shower for my sister, who is getting married. We are going to have about 50 people and I was trying to avoid having it in a restaurant. Does anyone know any spaces that will just rent their space so that we can bring in our own food? I'm trying to keep costs low, so nothing that's going to charge an arm and a leg. Thanks!!!

Hello Everyone!

I am looking for a small (and pretty) church for my wedding ceremony in San Antonio. My fiance and I are planning a very small ceremony (about 5 guests) but it has always been my dream to get married in a church. My fiance and I are Christians as well so a church would be very special for us. Both of us are not from San Antonio so we are not sure where to even begin! Anything for under $400 would be great, its just a church we are looking for, no reception or anything like that.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just recently got Engaged yesterday, even though we had been planning on getting married since a month before, but... I'm still trying to work on a budget & places to get wed at, which is my hardest task so far.. (even though there's alot more to go). I just got engaged and I am looking for a venue to have a low maintenance wedding where I can just show up and have all the details taken care of for the most part. I don't want to look for a caterer, worry about floral, lighting, and decor. I don't mind getting an officiant and a band/DJ but that is about all I'd like to do. I know the St. Anthony Hotel offers something like this that is fairly reasonable ($5000) but I'm looking for other options. Hotels seem like a natural starting place or restaurants with large private rooms.

Anyone know nice San Antonio Reception site for $2000 or less?

I know this topic has been done a lot but I was wanting some updated replies. I have been looking everywhere with no luck. We have the church ceremony already set for 12-13-14 and a lot of places I have been interested in are already booked or too expensive. I'm looking to have about 175 guests and hopefully a place where we can bring our own caterer in. We are also trying to do this on a small budget, but at this point I'm willing to stretch just a little over 2,000 for the hall. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Parking for San Fernando Cathedral Wedding Reception

My fiancé and I are currently searching for a wedding reception hall for our August 2015 wedding, and really love the San Fernando Cathedral Centre Café. We went to see the hall this week, and really liked it. The only aspect we're concerned about is the parking situation, since the cathedral doesn't have their own lot. The event coordinator from the cathedral discussed with us quite a few parking options that were either free or low in price (nearby Frost Bank parking lots being free on weekends, along with free parking at City Hall across the street, as well as a low cost parking at a nearby courthouse garage and city parking meters), but it still makes me nervous because our wedding reception would be around 6 p.m. on a Saturday night, and I'm afraid all of those lots will be full. I know first-hand how annoying it can be to find affordable parking downtown. Has anyone been to a wedding at the San Fernando Cathedral or had their wedding there or nearby that can share their experience with the parking situation?

Any suggestions of where to get my bridal portraits taken? I would like to have someplace that has indoor (or at least covered) & outdoor options. It gets so hot that and we're getting into the summer months. Our wedding is July 19th (indoor wedding). How soon before the wedding should I get my bridal portraits taken?

We're also having a love story done by our videographer, so more than one location suggestion would be helpful.

Our photographer is Creative Images by Doug Carter, and our videographer is Someone In Time Productions, Carl Hataway.

Not Lucy's - my family had a bad experience there and we refuse to buy from them.

We're getting married at the Witte Museum next spring and I'm thinking of going with Picante Grill as the caterer -- it's nice that they're just across the street, I really like their food, and the price is SUPER reasonable... has anyone used them before for a seated dinner? Any thoughts on the experience?

Does anyone have any suggestions on a reasonably priced baker? I don't want a huge elaborate cake so we will be doing a dessert table with a whole mix of things, most of which will be homemade but the one thing I don't want to do is my own wedding cake. Nothing big, just a small 2 tier cake and another small Groom's cake but everything I come across is so expensive and the delivery fees are the real killer! Any suggestions, or tips on what to do or where to go?

Where did you have or are you going to have yours taken? I thought I was going to do mine at Bracken Village, but when I went out there with my videographer, I didn't like it as much as I'd expected. I'm also not crazy about the McNay (too overdone, imo). Any other suggestions? I'm really just looking for someplace pretty with some different backgrounds (not solely flowers, etc.).

My photographer is Creative Images by Doug Carter. My mom booked him at the Bridal Extravaganza for a nice discount. His work looks beautiful, but I am very concerned because the only thing we get is a CD of our images, not the prints. He's new to SA, but has anybody else used him that can give me some insight? Or had a similar experience and provide some reassurance?
