SOooooo excited. I got the save the date samples I ordered- postcards from zazzle.com I am super picky about fonts and wanted to design everything myself, which I did in...yeah POWEPOINT! (making the pics as big as a could and then copy and pasting them into paint to save) with fonts from dafont.com saved it as a picture and uploaded it on zazzle, they came out looking perfect! total price (since we are getting more than 100) is .65 cents a piece!!!! add on teh 28 cents for a postcard stamp and you are looking at 93 cents per save the date. Pretty rockin deal if you ask me, and they are completely personalized. I am really happy :)
Here is the front:

and the back: (I may shoot the text over a tab more just to make a little more room for the addresses)

So, I delegated the responsibility fo choosing the wedding photographer to FI for a couple of reasons:

1. Although not his major, he studied photography during his undergraduate days and is kinda picky. He's talented and has the eye, whereas I think I the right arm in the air pics with your friends on a girl's night out are SPECTACULAR!

2. This planning isn't my thing so much so I get overwhelmed pretty easily. I needed help.

3. Darn it, I didn't want to do it.

So he made an appointment today to have a consultation with a photog! I'm excited! I didn't think he was going to follow through, but he did. I shouldn't doubt him, he always does.

I'll let ya know how it goes :o)

It's been hectic at work and it's not slowing down anytime soon so trying to juggle that and plan a wedding has been stressing me out. (Thank goodness for Teasha and Shannon).. BUT I just wanted to post that we finally booked our wedding photographer!! I'm super excited because FI and I have been wanting John & Joseph Photography for months and their summer 2011 dates has finally opened. Of course we were able to book our date in August 2011 right away. :) Their prices are a bit high but to me photos are totally worth it and their work is amazing. <3

So FI and I originally wanted a band, but then we decided it would be much much more important to have a really good DJ than an OK band. Sometimes bands can be cheesy?

Today we met Austin Beaver and really really liked him, except for his price tag. I've heard good things about Chris Graves also, but haven't met with him yet to know whether personality clicks or if his price tag is much different. Has anyone out there been to a wedding done by either and have an opinion?

We really just want a really fun party.

Am I the only person who feels guilty after taking up lots of vendor time and not booking them?

In the beginning I have to admit, yes I went wedding planning crazy for 3 months he would have to bribe me to shut up about the photographer and where we wanted to have it. But now I feel like I am being left behind in the dust! Why?

(1) He picked the wedding location. Yes, it is on the island where I grew up, and yes I am sure it will be nice- but I am SOO not a beach girl. My friends were like, really? You are having it there? I mean, it will be pretty but it doesn't seem like you. But hey- I get on the island so it is all good......even if we do have to spend like 300 on portapotties for a 20 minute ceremony.

(2) He picked the bridesmaids dress color, yes! really, you thought a guy couldnt care? ME TOO! But we have to "have red because it matches the red on the lighthouse roof" Sure sweetheart, I say, if red makes you happy- that's fine.

(3) Pie- I wanted to have wedding pies. I love to bake and I knew doing the whole cake for the wedding would be too much but I could make and freeze the pies in advance and it would be fine. Nope- the pie plan went out the window the second that boy stepped into a bakery with wedding cakes in the window. Now we MUST have one. I would even be ok if we did 1/2 pies 1/2 cake- but nope has to be a big cake.

Now I love my fiance, and I am happy he cares- but I wanted a small wedding which has now mushroomed to 120 people many of whom I have never even met. I want to spend our money on things like a house or saving to have a baby but he is all about it being done right. Then there was the final straw!

(4) today he announces that we are having a tent at the reception? not that I dont think it would be smart but he and his parents, behind my back have been looking for one for weeks! What the heck?! The reception is going to be at my parents house so you think they might have let them know, or me know! They have serious communication issues. Planning the wedding without the bride is not cool guys! Not cool!

Boo. I thought planning a wedding was supposted to be fun, but we are still a year out and I feel like I am being pushed into a wedding I dont want! Help ladies I need your advice.
