I just logged onto our registry to add a couple things, and I noticed that someone fulfilled all of our dinner plates (well, 6 of them, but we asked for 6 of one color, and 6 of another)!!! I have no idea who it could possibly be... no one really knows about our registry yet... I'm thinking it might be my grandma. Shower invites were sent out yesterday, so there's no way it could be just anyone.

But still! YAY!!!!!!

I'm getting hitched!!!!

the instances in which I purchase a product from a seller that isn't what they advertised. I purchased a card box from a seller because the price of it ($45 shipped) vs. how much I would spend on making one was almost a wash. So I get the box today and there are a couple things about it that aren't that great (i.e. matting for the pictures were cut by the person and not that great of a job, plus the bottom part/foamcore board was duct taped on and had gotten loose) but I was willing to deal with them (pre-cut matting can be bought for inexpensive) but the biggest problem is the opening for the cards is smaller that the seller stated. I specifically asked how large the opening was going to be and the seller stated 6". It measures a little under 5" so I messaged her since she had messaged me stating she saw I recieved the box. Most wedding cards are normal to large size and an A7 card (5.125" x 7.125") not even in an envelope won't fit through the hole.

Her reply? "I am so sorry! To be honest I dont really know why that happened...I cant apologize enough, I dont think you will have too much of the larger cards....but if you do have someone attending your gift table they can always help your guests. Sincerest apologies."

So now I'm trying to figure out how to address this issue. should I dispute on Paypal? I feel kind of bad for doing that, but if she had offered to remake just the cover, I would have been fine with that. But no, no offer from her. Should I ask if she'll remake it or just put in the dispute? There's a reason I pay on Paypal with my credit card.

Honestly, I don't know if I would trust her to remake it and send. She shipped the box a week later than she said she would (blamed it on Joann not having the fabric, okay, whatever, no biggie), then she asked what the box was for (i.e. wedding) apparently because (I quote) "I usually want to make sure I am aware of what sort of event this is, so that I can address a thank you note for the right occasion." No card in there (maybe cuz it couldn't fit in the slot!??). Just too many issues. Maybe I should go and just dispute it on Paypal? I gave her a chance to own up to the fact that she screwed up and didn't make it as discussed, right? Am I being a bridezilla here!??

So after two months of looking and visiting over 12 venues FI and I finally have a date a venue! July 16, 2011 at Alderbrook Resort on Hood Canal! We are very excited, a little nervous about the location and room rates but we have some great ideas, let's just hope it all comes together! Thanks for all of the advice, tips and help along the way! Let the planning begin! :)

I live in CO but am planning a coastal, garden party wedding in WA next summer (July or August). I'd LOVE reco's for a venue (moderate price range). My dream is big white tent next to the coast, casual, family oriented - around 75 people. I'm visiting in August for site visits but want to do as much research ahead of time so that I can make the most of my time in WA. Thank you in advance for any venue ideas!

When you made your hair flower, I know the curl the edges you put it to a flame but when I've done that to make organza flowers, mine don't really curl. Was there something else you did to get them to curl a bit?

Two checks: Ordered the RD invites and in the process of doing so, made the map to the venue which will be added to our wedding website. I wanted to Evite for the RD, but after the issues FFIL had with accessing our wedding website and knowing how FMIL sort of knows how to maneuver the interwebz (but not entirely) I decided to do traditionalish.

Oh, and for those who might be goint to see Darcy, as you can see she has a TON of jewelry, just as many hair fascinators, and many more garters. In fact, those looking for UW or WSU garters, I overheard her saying she was going to make more because she ran out and they sounded like they're hot sellers. Not sure the pricing on the garters though.

So for the rehearsal, I'm planning on having some munchies for people prior to the RD (basically while we're rehearsing) and I figured I'd get a couple things from Costco. Do they have a salmon mousse thingie? If so, has anyone had it - is it good? I figured that with crackers and 1 or 2 other things. Any other input or suggestions welcome! It's gotta be already made and ready-to-go though. TIA!

Unfortunately our ceremony site is uptight and won't let our guests throw anything as we leave, including flower petals (that's what i had wanted). I'm now on the hunt for bubbles, but the ones i've found so far are kind of the boring ones i've seen forever. Have any of you seen some new, cute or unique bubbles? TIA!

Hey girls.

I saw some of you are talking about getting a trainer. I have a personal trainer and he is fantastic. AND he is mobile, so he will come to you. He can train you at a 24hr fitness if you have a membership, at a park, at your home, at your apartment or office gym. He is fantastic. And his rates are cheaper than any trainer you will ever find. His rates start at $25 a session but they go up depending on your location. I think Seattle is around $35 a session, but he will also bring the price down if you train several times a week. I have been training with him since last october. If you are interested let me know and I can give you his info. He is definitely worth it!!!

Im going to do a hint of a sweetheart neckline and bubble the top layer to show off the bottom so it looks a little more finished. Who are u using for alterations? Would u recommend them?

Outdoor Ceremony Microphone?

So, we're having our ceremony in a park, and we can't have amplified sound. we CAN use body mics or handheld microphone, which we'd like to do, as it will be hard to hear outdoors. The problem is, I don't know what we need. When I look up wireless microphones, we need to be near a transmitter, but we won't have any outlets or anything to plug anything into. I don't want to hook a mic onto myself w/the dress and everything. Anyone have any ideas what we can do and/or are you in a similar situation? What was your resolution?

Long story short I booked her for our June 21st wedding and now she seems to not exist (deposits were made back in December and contracts signed). Phone disconnected, website down and not returning any of the dozens of increasingly frantic emails over the last 4 months.

Anyone know anything?
