Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are highly considering a Door County wedding. We love the beauty there. We would like a lakefront ceremony with room for the reception inside somewhere. We are excepting around 100 guests. I also would like a lighthouse nearby for photo opportunities if possible. Our dream is to have a horse and carriage ride after the ceremony. Have any of you been to weddings in Door County or have married there? So far I have the Stone Harbor Resort in Sturgeon Bay on my list but I'm not sure about a lighthouse there. Any help would be appreciated, thanks so much!

Stevens Point/Plover Outdoor Ceremony

FI and I have been considering an outdoor ceremony, but can't find anywhere in Stevens Point/Plover to have it. None of the city parks will allow us to (they say we will be "reserving" a spot--but how is that different than someone playing frisbee or hanging out with friends all day in the same spot?)

Any ideas??

Milwaukee hair and makeup

Does anyone know of someone who does ON-LOCATION hair and makeup for a reasonable price? My 5 bridesmaids and my mom also need to get their hair done, so maybe 2 stylists would be needed. My stylist for the past 4 years cannot do on-location makeup due to salon rules so I need to find someone else and am a little nervous about it. Don't want to spend more than a $100 for my own hair and makeup. Please help!!! Thanks for any replies :)

We are doing a Destination Wedding in Mexico, but many of our friends and family won't be able to join us so we will be throwing a party in the Fox Cities area a few weeks after the wedding.

I'm not from WI but FI is. So I'm struggling with finding a venue (he's not much help in this area). Any thoughts?

I'm looking for casual - BBQ or Pub style food. (Oh and it would be the early August timeframe)

I live in FL and would like to have an outdoor wedding/reception in or near Ashland in late summer or early fall of 2011. Any ideas? Would love to see pics if you've had yours there. I live in FL (N. Wisconsin Native) and just got engaged. I obviously can't scope out venues in person, as everything is covered in snow right now. STRESSED!!!! Help?! thanks in advance!
Oh, and I'm open to an indoor wedding, *if* there are great veiws of the lake or woods.

Church Ceremony in Milwaukee

Hi Everyone!

I'm planning a summer 2012 wedding in Milwaukee and the reception will be at the Wisconsin club (City club). I was raised Catholic and my fiance was raised Protestant, but neither of us are currently very religious. It's important to my mom to have the ceremony in a church, so we're trying to find a good option where we could have a non-denominational ceremony or at least something that doesn't require promises of joining a parish that we aren't prepared to keep. My sister got married at Calvary Presbyterian and they were amazing, but unfortunately the one date that they have booked all summer is ours!

Does anyone have any other advice? Ideally we'd love something near the Wisconsin club, as many guests will be from out of town and won't have transportation.

Rustic/Barn Venue?

My fiance and I are looking for an outdoor, but covered, venue for both ceremony and reception somewhere between our two families. So we need something between Two Rivers, WI and Minneapolis, MN that can accomodate our guestlist of around 120-150 and isn't going to be ridiculously priced. We've been thinking possibly a rustic barn, but I'm having trouble coming up with results. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Ceremony vs Reception location

My fiancé and I are trying to figure out which church to get married at. Our reception is booked at Pier Wisconsin, downtown. The church I have been attending, and the priest we have been working with is in Dousman. We have the option of holding the ceremony downtown. My issues with the downtown church is that it is street parking only. I really love the church in Dousman, but it is far from the reception location. Our timeline would be short, giving guests an hour and a half between ceremony and reception. Has anyone else travelled far between ceremony and reception? Is it really terrible?

I am getting married at the end of Feb and I need to find somebody to do my hair and makeup for my wedding. Id also like to go before the wedding and do a trial run on a couple different styles so I know what I like for sure. Im in the Milwaukee area...he/she doesnt have to be able to come to me,I am willing to drive to a salon. I am really very nervous about picking somebody...I have had the same stylist for 7 years and she recently moved to another state. Its hard to trust someone for your hair and makeup and especially on your wedding day so Im hoping to find someone with very high recomendations. Thanks for your help!!

The logical choice seems to be going to their salon/spa for hair and make-up the morning of the wedding but I haven't heard anything about them (good or bad). Does anybody know anything about it?

I am haivng disagrement on who gets invited to the rehersal dinner. I having our 20-25 member church choir sing at our wedding, and my parents think that we have to invited all of them to the rehersal dinner, i said that i would invite the choir director and make a donation to the church choir. Are they right, do we need to invite all of them with a guest, or am i doing okay with just inviting the choir director and her husband. I wasn't planning on having the church choir at the wedding rehersal, just the choir director and our pianoist. please help.

Holy Invite DIY overload. Help!

So I have been on the boards and internet for HOURS trying to find the most affordale way to do invites and DIY, nevermind apparently I need to think about enclosures, pocket folds, figure out a way to do the enclosures etc.

Anyone have a good webiste or a blog on how to? I tried to follow someone and
a.) cannot figure out the pocket fold and b.) finding paper!
I looked at anchor paper and I don't even know where to start as I am not familiar with the kinds of paper I SHOULD be askig for...I am also looking at vista print and even a kit at Target (do those contain everything you need?)
