Candy favors and buffet?

I love the idea of having a cutesy little boxes with gormet jelly beans in our colors at each seat as the favor, but I was also planning on having a candy/snack buffet.. will that be weird? Like, why have a little cute box of candy with there's an entire buffet of sweets to have at? Or just over-thinking it?

So I thought this might be helpful for someone who isnt to big on spending money on favors. I'd rather spend money on something else for my wedding then spend it on favors that get left behind. I know I always forget my favor at weddings. Im doing a photobooth and included in my package is 200 photo slip reminders. I can pick a super cute poem just stating that we have a photobooth and then they tie a ribbon of our color on the top. I figured why not use these as my favors..set them out before guest arrive and then they have it to put there pics in. Nothing extra spent since its included in a package!

Or favor per couple?

For those of you doing edible favors, I wanted to share a tip from a wedding we went to this weekend. Their favors were super-yummy sugar cookies, which were awesome. What was NOT awesome is that they only did one per couple, so H and I ended up each eating only half of a cookie... If you do edible favors, you might want to do one per person:-).

wine glass charms.....too girly for everyone?

my idea is slice wine corks into circles....add on a sml ring and ribbon to tie around the wine glass....as ppl enter the reception i was thinking to have the full alphabet in rubber stamps and a few diff colors of ink. the guests could stamp their first name initial into the cork for the wine charm and use it during the reception. is it a bad idea to have the guests stamp their own? or should i just do it for them before and have their names on them already? its for about 70 ppl.

my fh says wine charms are too girly for favors (i can see that i guess).....we don't wanna break the bank on favors...but i'd like to have something wine related.

I am planning on making a special snack mix that I make every year for xmas for my favors. It's basically an assortment of cereals, pretzels, nuts, raisins, and mms covered in melted white chocolate. My question is what a reasonable favorsized portion would be. Half a cup? Less? Thanks!

i am sooooo not creative at all while trying to plan what do for the favors.

i've been in and to several weddings over the last couple of years and i have seen several different things done. however, i don't want to do what "everybody else has already done."

so i was kinda thinking about combining ideas.

when my ex-best friend's mother remarried when we were in high school, they gave away a mix CD at the wedding. on the CD it was different songs that kinda went with her mom & stepdad, like their favorites. like, one of the songs was the song they first danced to when they met at a mutual friend's wedding a few years prior. another was the song that was played when her mom walked down the isle at their wedding, their first dance and so forth. almost like a soundtrack of their lives together. i was thinking about doing something like that. my fiance suggested giving away bottles of wine, but i feel like everybody does that. i also thought about like the everyday practical stuff too, but i feel like everybody gives away candy and matches at their weddings.. any ideas? it was be greatly appreciated :)

Temporary Tattoo wedding Favors

Because of a cute backstory to my faiance and I's early dating. I had the idea of doing temporary tattoos as wedding favors We are not having a traditional wedding. A few things i need to consider about doing this are...
1. should i give them out and let people apply them whenever they want. almost like a take home gift. (I think this would end in them getting thrown away)
2. Should i set up tattoo stations. Where people can self apply at the reception. (this could turn into a mess and kind of a cluster.)

And would i need to stick with a tattoo theme if this is what i decided to do?

I was thinking of doing a small bag with hugs, kisses, and peanut butter cups for our favors. But I don't know what size bag to do or how many pieces to put in. I don't want them to look too cheap, but this is my cost effective alternative to a candy buffet. I was also thinking of printing guest names and table numbers on business cards and attaching this to the bag. As a guest, would this favor and escort solution be acceptable? Ok, so for our wedding favors we're borrowing an idea we saw on TK. Since we met at Starbucks, I think this would be a really cute idea. Anyhow. We went to the store the other day to taste some chocolate covered espresso beans. I think they were gross. He liked them though. Now I don't know what to put in the cups we got. Do you have a favorite coffee, espresso, mocha etc flavored treat? I thought biscotti might be a cute second place. But that's still a maybe because it's kind of expensive. Any help is appreciated! I have come to really respect the opinions of the regulars here and I would like the thoughts on the favors I am doing. I know you all say to stick with something edible, but plenty of edible treats will be in the welcome bags in each guests hotel rooms. I guess enchanted forest is kind of the theme if I had to give one. We are getting married in a glass chapel in the forest and have tree centerpieces. The actual favor is a twig pen that has one side of the bark stripped off and that is where I have used a wood burner to burn the names of each guest on each pen. These are their place cards. Is that a good idea?

Cupcake labels

We are doing cupcakes in a jar for our favors 50 gingerbread with cream cheese icing and 50 sugar cookie with plum filling. I was wondering, should I label them as "Gingerbread" and "Sugarplum" or use their full descriptions? The jars are small mason jars which you can see the cupcake through. Thoughts?

Me and my fiance are having a summer wedding in 2014, with approximately 350 guests. we both have big families and a large group of friends. He had attended a wedding where the favors were fighter fish, one per family/couple. Together we are considering combining the favours and centerpeices and having goldfish in rosebowls centrepeices and having the fish as giveaways. This is just a rough inital idea but if any one has some pointers or comments I would appreciate it.

We are having a rustic themed wedding. I wanted to make heart shaped favors out of bird seed and tie a cute message attached to the string.. I found a good recipe to make them but wasnt sure if they were a good idea in the first place and not sure what the little tag should say. Any suggestions?? Please help!! My wedding is in January and I have yet to purchase the favors for my guests. I want to give a half size (375 mL) bottle of wine to each guest with a personalized label, but I cannot for the life of me find a place to order decent wine in bulk for that size of wine bottle. Any suggestions? Please?!!

I have been to way too many weddings and the favors given are such a waste. One wedding I went to had this same favor for their guests, and me and my fiance loved it!

Vintage favor ideas

So I plan to have a vintage themed wedding. I got the idea to hand out vintage hankies in envelopes labeled happy tear. I also plan to make burlap flags that have "yay" painted on them for guests to wae in excitment.

At our reception I am planning a vintage old general/candy store feel and have candies like boston baked beans, necco wafers, swizzles sticks, candy buttons ect.

I was thinking vintage hankies were a really neato idea, then again I like things that have had a history but now I'm second guessing it...I mean I still want to have a basket with them for guests to take if they want but what are the chances guests will take a hankie? If you went to a wedding like this would you partake? Are the other two items cheesy/not worth it?

Coffee Mug Favors

I am definitely giving out coffee mug favors. The coffee mug is white and will have All You Need is Love written on it. I will be putting them in boxes and wrapping them. My question is do I give one to each guest? or one per couple? I am thinking one per couple as I wouldn't want two of the same mug in the house? Also, I want to fill it with something, any suggestions?

I'm having some trouble picking a wedding favor. I want to give my guest something that they will actually use or eat that isnt too pricey. Was thinking about cupcakes . I also saw these really cute mesuring spoonswith quotes on them that says things like : " a touch of love", "a pinch of hugs" etc. but I could not engrave them .Any ideas..?

Ok ladies, I'm new at this, and everything involved with planning a wedding for that matter! I'm looking for opinions on wedding favors. Do you guys think that the wedding favor should/has to "match" with your wedding theme?
