What are your thoughts? If you're doing welcome bags, are you putting them together yourself or hiring someone to put them together for you? Do you plan to give them to all guests or just out of town guests?

So we're getting married in Vegas next month, and one of the things I wanted to do for favors, instead of the standard "roll of quarters" was to tie jackpot balloons to the backs of the chairs at dinner - stuff balloons with random amounts of money, some small, one bigger jackpot balloon, some with nothing (heh), but I'm starting to think that it might be a pain to execute since we're not having a normal reception dinner, but instead, taking everyone OUT to dinner. Any ideas on what might be a fun way to do this, with less of a headache? I know I could just do favor boxes or firecrackers or something, but I wanted something a little more creative... I may still go with the balloons, maybe see if I can have the restaurant staff tie them on before we get there or something, but I'm not sure. Figured I'd see if you lovelies had any other ideas first! Thanks!!!

Black 4x6 Picture Frame Favors

I'm having a photo booth at my wedding that will be printing the 4 pictures taking in the booth in b&w in a 4x6 format so I'd like to have black picture frames as favors for the guests. However, I'm having a hard time finding any sites to get these in bulk that aren't like $9 a piece or super chintzy (sp??).

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm just looking for something simple; no hearts or anything like that on there because I want people to be able to put these in their house and I think that just simple flat black will fit in with pretty much everyone's decor somewhere. :)

Any help would be greatly appreciated - hoping to spend around $3 each. Thanks in advance!!

We had planned to do hotel welcome bags for our out of town guests (most everyone except the groom's immediate family are out of town) with bottled water and small snacks.

However, when I checked with our reception venue recently I was told that only a fraction of the guests who I know have booked rooms are actually counted under our 'block.' I know people are mentioning our block because of the rate discount.

This is going to cause a major problem determining the quantity of welcome bags we need, and we don't really have money to spend on extra bags.

So here's the issue I'm having... I don't have the patience or time to sit on the phone with the hotel going through the entire guest list of 200 people with them to find out who has booked and getting them moved to our block so I can have a true room count.

Can anyone suggest another idea instead of a welcome bag that is cheap, doesn't require assembly and can be bought in bulk?

Daughter and FSIL are having the ingredients for s'mores wrapped up in cellophane with a cute tag for favors. Wondering how far in advance we dare make them up to avoid squishy grahams and stale marshmallows. Anyone have some advice/tips?

Help with Candy Buffet !! please!

I'm in the process of pulling together my candy buffet for my 9/29 wedding.
I bought small white glassine bags and stamped them, but my question is should I make individual inserts with a cute poem about the buffet (below) to stuff inside each one (approx 188) or save the time & money and just frame the poem and put it on the candy buffet table?
I'm feeling super crafty, and part of me thinks this might be more personal that way? But I"m not sure if it's necessary.

we're doing "sweet and spicy". we've got personalized hot sauce and we want to do sweet tea in mason jars but i can't find mason jars that i like, and when i do they're like $4 a piece. i have over 250 people attending... i'd rather not pay an arm and a leg for my wedding favors when we're already promising our first born to pay for the rest of the wedding. haha. but seriously. We are making clustered centerpieces of mini succulents and votives. These will also be the favors, so we are encouraging the guests to take a plant and a candle home with them. At each seat, we are putting a small organza bag to put the plant but I was thinking of putting a little notee or label explaining that the plant is for them. The only thing I can think to write is something like... For your plant's ride home. But can anyone think of something more clever?
