I got a GREAT deal on a photobooth and frames for my wedding and I used them as the favors. The guests absolutely loved them! I still think it was the best part of my wedding. The company I used was Timeless Tales Photo Booth. They were sooooooo professional and accommodating! I highly reccomend them!

Favor Help... Jordan Almonds, Tradition, Expense...

I'm first generation American born to a now deceased Sicilian immigrant and would like to give 5 jordan almonds with a little insert explaining the Italian tradition to each of my wedding guests. (I am having a Sicilian rehearsal dinner and will likely have the tarantella performed at my reception: these three things are all Italian nods I am doing to honor my father and heritage).

Back to the Jordan almonds. I plan to put the almonds and note in a clear filigree pillow box with a metal "thank you" charm, tied with a ribbon. Is this a "favor" or do I need to also get something more lasting and tangible for the guests? ... I am already speding around $100-$120 a guest so I am trying very hard to be mindful of saving money, honoring my heritage, and not coming off as cheap...

Any thoughts? Opinions? Similar experiences?

White Chocolate Covered Popcorn

For my favors..I plan on doing white chocolate covered popcorn (dyeing the chocolate a light blue color)....
First of all..I'm not sure what to package them in. Cellophane bags look too birthday party-ish I think..but then again..what else is there?!
Secondly..I can't think of any little saying to go with it..I looked online and all I really found was "He popped the question, she said yes!"...lol kind of cheesey..but idk what else to use!
Thoughts?! :)

I need gift bag ideas!

Hi all!

Im having a destination wedding (next month! eep!) and I want to do gift bags for all of my guests as a thank you for travelling with us. At first I was thinking toiletries, but most people will bring those anyways, so I decided not to. Right now my plan is one bag per room/couple with 2 silk fans, a beach themed disposable camera, bubbles, a packet of tissues, a note pad shaped like a flip flop and luggage tags that will also tell people what table they're seated at. I'm also going to give each person a small key chain morracca ( I LOVE them and collect them, so I think it's cute) which I'll buy when we get there. I was going to have them delivered on the morning of the wedding or the day before.

I'm not giving a gift bag to the wedding party because they are getting seperate gifts. However, I am giving a bag to the significant others of the wedding party.

Have other people done this or thinking of doing this? Any other cool gift bag ideas??

Favor Tags Question

Should favor tags offer a intimate or general thank you? I'm debating about skipping tags and putting nice little cards inside my boxes or just printing a sticker on the outside of some sort that says "Thanks for sharing such a sweet day with us". I can't decide which one would be nicer.

Edit: All the cards would be the same. It wouldn't be personalized the way a thank you card would be. But it would be an actual piece of paper vs a tag or a sticker, which I consider to be more intimate.

When is it traditional to give thank you gifts to the wedding party and parents? In the 2 weddings I've been a part of the bridal party got presents the day of the wedding while we were all getting ready together. I thought that was lovely, but I've also seen recommendations saying they should be given at rehearsal dinner, or at the bridesmaids tea. What do you think?

So for our ceremony, I had bought some birdseed packets off etsy, but they weren't exactly what I wanted so I replaced all the ribbons and added leaves to them all.

Since our reception favors are edible and our wedding isn't until September I'm not making these yet. but here's what I'm gonna do. I'm going to purchase some old fashioned pure maple suagr candy, put a few in individual packages and tie with a twine bow. Then I'm going to etch "Falling in Love is Sweet" in calligraphy on the packaging.

Extra Fall Wedding Favors

Hello all,

I unfortunately overbought favors for my wedding....

I have 93 sets of brand new, nicely bowed and packaged glass-frosted coasters used specifically for wedding favors. There are 4 coasters in each set. They are themed for a Fall wedding. The tag on the set reads "Fall in Love" These look great on the tables and my family and friends use them all the time.

They are nicely packaged still in the original shipping boxes and ready to go. Please let me know if you are interested or have any questions. I can send pictures upon request.

I live on the north side of Chicago. Due to the weight of the coasters it would be better if they were picked up v. mailing.

Sad attempt at a candy bar/station?

Hello!
I was wondering opinions on doing jelly bellies and m and m's for a small candy station? I'm not sure how the jelly beans and chocolates would work together? I would get bulk m and m's in black and ivory/cream colored to put in a few jars and then the red fruit mix of jelly bellies in seperate jars? Cute? Tacky? Cheap? I am on a budget. PS my colors are black, ivory and apple red...
If you have any other ideas I would appreciate it!!

Hey All! (First Post! =) )

I am doing mini emergency kits for my Bridal Shower favors. I'm putting the kits in black boxes with green bows(wedding colors, irish theme). I want to attach a thank you note for the guests that will tie in the emergency kit something along the lines of"You've help me through my emergencies, hope this kit will help you too"

Anyone have any witty ideas? Or something I can put on the thank yous?!?

I've read through a bunch of the posts here and you ladies seem to have great unique favor ideas. The problem is that nothing really jumps out as "us". So, I was wondering, what are some of your favorite and least favorite ideas for more generic favors (for lack of a better term)?

I want something my guests will actually like, but I don't mind if something that is done a lot. I just don't want to have favors that get left behind or trashed immediately when they get home.

My fiance have decided not to have children at our wedding, mostly because our cousins/2nd cousins are monsters and there are soooooo many of them we could never afford to feed all of them. We've been worried about the etiquette of not inviting young family members, but it is what it is. But now my fiance doesn't want to have favors since it's a waste of the (very tight) budget just to have people forget/toss/overlook. Is this crossing the line from "streamlining the budget" to just plain rude? No one seems to like favors, especially if they're cheap or melting in the sun. We are having a very unique, memorable and mature theme to our wedding I'm wondering if that experience in itself is good enough?

This is the cutest favor idea, especially if you and your future hubby are a coffee couple like me and my fiance! Apple butter and Whoopie Pies

Hi All,

I have never been on this board before, but thought you'd be helpful. I am just starting to think about the way we'll be giving out our favors. We are doing homemade apple butter in 4oz jars (September wedding, so the season is where this inspiration came from) and we are also doing homemade whoopie pies (we're from Maine, and getting married here... I guess it's kind of a Maine thing). We'll have enough for one person to have one favor (Either one apple butter or one whoopie pie). We will have about 70 of each, so 140 total, with 125 guests invited.

Should we

a: put one at each place setting --- every other setting will get a whoopie, and every other will get an apple butter (I'm assuming people would be happy with either one, and they can trade with another person at the table if they're really set on having the other option)

b: put them on a seperate table with a sign that says something like "love is sweet, take a treat" .... in this case we'd just have to assume/hope people would only take one, because there's only enough for each guest to have one. This way they could choose which one they want, But, we do have extra so if a few people did take both we'd be okay. The only problem here would be if EVERYONE wanted one thing, then it was only the other thing left, leaving others to not have a choice anymore (even though that's probably ok because some people don't get a choice at all....)

c: figure out one more favor to go on the "favor table" mentioned above, giving 3 options....(this is last resort since we don't really want to spend anymore time or money on favors)

Melting M&M's?

So I had this idea for favors to do black and white M&M's and have them say M&N since those are our initials (cheesey I know). I was going to put them in black boxes and tie them with ribbon and make them look really cute. However, our wedding is in August and I am worried that the chocolates may be exposed to heat during transportation. I don't want to have to be worrying about the favors or running the chance that when the guests open their favors that the candy is slightly melted or a chocolate mess! Any ideas?

Who Gets Favors?

Probably a silly question but I was always thought only the guest who attend the wedding get a favor and if anyone does not come to the wedding but still sends a gift they get a thank you card but they don't get a favor. I'm being told now by my fiance's family that even if guest don't come but mail us a gift we need to mail them a favor and thank you card. My family thinks the favor is suppossed to be something special for the guest who attend. What do you guys think? Now I don't know what to do. I dont want to offend anyone who expects a favor even if they don't show up but I really think the favor is something special for those who attend.

I am making matchbook seed favors for my guests. I've seen the Martha Stewart templates and I'm using those or just using my own template but none the less, am buying the seeds. I was wondering how many seeds per packet you used or would use? I was going to order the seeds in bulk, maybe on ebay or through a friend with a landscaping company that can get them wholesale, but I wasn't sure how many per packet I would need. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
