Carmel Apples

Hi All,

I have decided I want to do carmel apples for our favors, since we're getting married in late-October and it seems very Fall. Plus, I LOVE them! :)

Has anyone ever done this? How'd it go/work? What did you use to wrap each apple?

Do you make 1 favor for each person or 1 for each invite (like- 1/couple)? If you do 1/person, do you really make 1 for each person or do you do some less, assuming some people won't take it?

My Favors "Bling" Theme

So I don't really have a theme, but I am using a ton of crystals all over the place, literally thousands so I guess "bling" would be my theme if I had one.

I got these favors for a great price $1.50 each. The cheapest I found these was $3 anywhere. They are real glass and I think everyone will love them.

I will be placing them on top of the napkin that will be in the middle of every plate on the table.

I already have my favors but I came across these and thought they were really cute and really afordable. Plus I'm sure guests would think they were really delicious. They are cupcakes in mason jars so perhaps if you are having an outdoor type reception.

Has anybody ordered/used bubble wands that they can recommend? I've found a lot of them online, but then the reviews say that half of the tubes were empty, or they didn't blow bubbles well.

Fortune Cookie Buffet

As I was checking out my photographer's blog, I came across a wedding that had fortune cookies in nice glass containers instead of candy. It looked gorgeous & I was wondering if anyone had some advise. TIA

Centerpiece as favor?

I was thinking of having our centerpieces be a vase of flowers surrounded by miniature bamboo pots with a plant (it looks cute, I promise). The plants would have a "thanks for coming" (or something) note indicating they were the favor. I don't want to do food, and I really don't want to do something kitschy and personalized. And if people are going to toss them, I don't want to have a huge environmental impact. I also think this would save some money by doing a 2-in-1. Opinions?

I've read millions of suggestions about what to get your guests as wedding favors when they have to travel and I really like the idea of a welcome bag when they arrive at the resort....However I am scared to death of buying things packing them and then having the airline lose the bag. Chocolate Fountain

Does having a chocolate fountain at the reception count as a favor? I only ask because a lot of people have candy bars as favors (but then again, you can't exactly dip something in chocolate and take it home for later). Thoughts?

I want to get as many tasks completed ahead of time as I can, and that includes putting the favors together. I'm using organza bags and putting in Hershey's kisses, M&Ms, and Jordan almonds. I know the Kisses will be fine since they're wrapped, but can the M&Ms or almonds go stale if I transfer them from their original bag to the organza bags 80 days ahead of time?

"Filler" for favor box

I've got these cute little 3x3 favor boxes and I've got them decorated just so. I even bought these cute little blue Dove chocolates that match the background of the box design. I started off with 3 bags of candy just to get an idea of how many i'd need (I'm making 144).

Here's the problem. A lot of candy fits into the box. Like. 15 pieces. Since only 36 come in a bag, that's not economical at all. Also, the bottom of the box gives way because the chocolates are heavy (I'm planning on taping the bottom anyway but still). So I was thinking of putting 6 in each box. But they look so lonely :(

Should i put some cute patterned tissue paper at the bottom to fill up the box a little bit? I think one pack would be enough. Would that be tacky?

Something to think about...Candy

This past weekend I went to a bridal show and there was a vendor there with a candy buffet. All the candy was white and she was encouraging you to fill a bag as a way to advertise her business. I am still deciding on whether to have the candy or not so I decided to fill a bag. The next day when I opened the bag the candy was so gross and all the candies tasted like each other because there was some strong flavors mixed in like pineapple and cocconut. This really turned me off to the idea. I will prob not be having one now and if you are I would def try to come up with candies that will be ok together or have several mini bags for the guests to separate their candy. I would hate to spend all that money on the candy all for it to be gross the next day! Just a thought that I wanted to share because I was really suprised by how fast the candy flavors spread.

FI and I have decided to give votive candles to our guests as wedding favors. The actual candle holder is not going to be personalized; however, for guests that like favors as a keepsake, each candle will be wrapped with a personalized matchbook. My original plan was to give out simple white frosted votive holders because they are neutral and would blend in with practically any decor; however, I have since found purple votive holders and I really like them. My thoughts are that frosted glass holders are really common and the purple ones are a little more unique.

Thoughts?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to cover up a wall? Something that will look elegant?

Cute favor wording HELP

We are getting married on the beach with midnight/navy blue and white as the wedding colors. For favors, we are thinking about doing the blue gummy sharks that have the white marshmallow belly. What are some cute sayings or phrases we can put on the favor table. We were thinking something along the lines of "We found our one fish in the sea" but not sure if I love that. I hope you all have your creative thinking hats on today.

We found shot glass/candle holders (that come with tea light candles). They have 2 hearts, then our names & wedding date on them. My wedding colors are hot pink and black. I'm wrapping every other one in black tulle w pink ribbon & pink tulle with black ribbon!! They look super cute and are dual functioning! We are going to set them around the tables to add some color! Less than .90 each!
