(like the ones in gradeschool) during the wedding as a small entertainment time. Mostly because my fiance and I love to do holiday crafts at home. Is it too tacky or do you think a wide range of people would enjoy doing one?

Side note: They would be self sticking foam pieces (so no glue at all) to a foam frame in little kits.

I need some insight. My wedding is planned for 2 in the afternoon. I was going to do a buffet of finger foods but now I am leaning more towards a candy/dessert bar. I would like to have all sorts of candy and desserts. My family are big bakers so we were going to do everything by ourselves. Can anyone tell me if they think this would be a good idea? I was going to do the whole "chinese take out" box with a quote and use them as favors. If so, what kinds of candy do you think I should use? I was thinking mini candy bars and junk like that. Anyone have any input? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks girls!

I have been to michael's and joann fabrics trying to find a fabric to work with our favors. I don't mind if our favors all match! What we are doing is making a homemade apple butter. It preserves for one year and our wedding is in July but this is the best time to make it. Our wedding style is a country/rustic and we are doing mason jar centerpieces and our flowers are mainly sunflowers with some oranges. Our favors are going to be on the tables to help with decoration. These are some pictures of what it will kind of be like, but I need a yellow/orange fabric to help decorate. I don't know if there is a reliable place to order online? I live in new york. we are doing the favors in a few weeks, and i guess w could wait to decorate them, it would just be nice to get it all out of the way!
I ordered cake toppers a month before my October 2nd wedding date for my out-of-state wedding at my parents' house. When I arrived in town the week before the wedding, the cake toppers (the one and only item I'd ordered from the company) hadn't come. It took numerous calls and emails to speak to an actual person, and when I finally got through to someone, two days before the wedding, I got a curt apology that they wouldn't make it, and the rep said, "It's not a big deal." Excuse me, but this is my wedding, and it IS a big deal. They're in the wedding business and should realize that their job is to get purchases to customers in a timely manner (before the wedding). Even more maddening, they were apparently importing the cake toppers from Canada, and the cake toppers hadn't shipped from Canada yet--surely, they must have known WELL BEFORE my call that my toppers weren't going to arrive to their headquarters in NY state in time to be shipped to California. But I never received an email update saying my shipment would be late, a call, or anything.
Learned from this experience that the big craft chain Michael's carries inexpensive cake toppers. I was only able to find blonde cake toppers there, but one of my bridesmaids proved handy with a brown Sharpie marker. Go with Michael's, definitely NOT with All For Your Wedding.

I am wanting to make caramel apples, kettle corn, and have other types of candy available. My question is, if I am having 150 people at the reception, how many caramel apples should I plan for? I was thinking one per person but that seems like an awful lot since there are other things to choose from. Do you also think that estimating 2-3 cups of kettle corn per person is sufficient? I am going to be making both of the caramel apples and kettle corn roughly a week before the wedding. I really appreciate your input!

Thanks!

I originally was all about a candy bar.. but then I got the feeling that everyone else was too! I really like the idea of doing a coffee bar, but not with syrups and lattes. I want to have flavored whole coffee beans that guests can choose from (for example, hazelnut, caramel, chocolate, regular, decaf, etc) with mini coffee bags for guests to take home. I would set it up the same as a candy bar and would also have alternatives for coffee (teas, hot cocoa) with some sweet treats to accent the table... What do you think?

I had a friend who received a wet bathing suit bag as one of her favors for being a bridesmaid. This is a great/useful idea, but I don't know a good place to order them. I googled wet bathing suit bags, but I see some with draw strings. I like ones that have a zipper to close it. I saw this girl's wet bathing suit bag, but I don't think it would be big enough for women's bathing suits. Just for an idea of what I am looking for I will paste the link. http://store.kettleoffishclothing.com/girls-pink-terry-velour-wet-bathing-suit-bag-tote.html

Does anyone have any leads on where I can find something like this for women, so I can use this for my bridesmaid's gifts?

A friend is getting married this December and rather than bubbles or flower petals or rice, she would like her guests to ring bells at the end of her ceremony. Specifically, she is looking for sleigh bells on a leather strap that her guests can then keep as favors. The only ones that I have found are very expensive. Any help would be much appreciated!

Okay we are having a November wedding with a holiday/rustic lodge theme. There will be Christmas trees and other holiday decorations. It will be a small wedding maybe 50 to 75 people. I was thinking of doing a felt stocking for everyone with holiday treats like, homemade Christmas candy, chocolate covered pretzels, hot coco mix, smore fixins, caramel apples then maybe a personalized Christmas ornament, a hot chocolate mug. All the edible stuff will be made by us, so it shouldn't be to costly as far as that goes, and the ornaments will probably be bought in bulk and personalized by us as well with paint. What are yall's thoughts on this? Good idea? Bad idea? Also any other items you would put in the stockings.
