I am thinking about getting a photo booth for our reception. The deal we can get is for unlimited pictures for 4 hours. Is it OK for this to be our favor? So many people don't even take the favors at receptions and I am thinking that this might be a fun way to do. Thoughts?

Candy Container

I am planning a candy buffet. I was wondering what is the best type of container that is big enough for people to select a variety of candy. My original thought was chinese take-out boxes. What are you ladies using and how big?

Do you ever do a lot of planning, go all out with your wedding planner and at the end you feel like you haven't acomplished anything? I do all the time I still have 8 months 4 weeks left but I feel like I am running outta time still. I had to look up the maid of honor to do's and check list last night because I couldnt even think of what she had to do,lol. She is feeling overwhelmed also so how is that going to comfort me? lol.I have to get my dress
meet with the florist
go to the cake testing
make final arrangments at the banquet room (which is very close to being done)
order the wedding bands
order my fiance a new birth certificate

The sad things is I have to save for each one of these individualy . It is very hard to plan a nice wedding with such a low budget. thank God I have 8 months.

Lucky thing is we are having a court house wedidng, so no planning of a ceremony is neccessary. Although we are still having our parents and 2 grooms men and 2 bridesmaids come with us. I also want a wedding gown I still want that beautiful bride felling with all the fixing. There is no rule saying I can't just because it's a court house wedding right?

My hubby-to-be and myself are having alot of debate about the favors. I wanted to use jordan almonds and m&ms for favors. However several members of his family (including himself and his father) have diabetes. So I need a non-candy idea that will not break the bak, as our budget is only about $1.25 per person.

Pint Glasses - any ideas?

Hi my fiance is Australian and as much as I would like to have something prettier, I know he will love having personalized pint glasses as favors. I found them on favor favor dot com for under $2.00 each.

Has anyone used that vendor or do you have another suggestion.

When should I buy the candy for my wedding favors?

I am thinking about having red hot hearts as my wedding favor candy. How far in advance can I put the favors together? I really do not want to wait until the last minute but I also do not want to do it too soon and have the candy go stale. I have a little less than 5 months before the wedding and I want to make sure I have enough time to figure something else out if something goes wrong. Any advice?

We are having a Tiffany Theme e-party. I am looking for things that I can personalize without just doing name and date. Why is it that it seems all you can put is a name and a date? We would like to be able to put the longitude and latitude of the beach where we got engaged on some ribbon and maybe some napkins or something else... does anyone know where I can get this done??

Doctor Themed Favors

I am looking to do a doctor themed favor for my wedding. I have had my heart set on purchasing some prescription bottles and filling them with personalized M&Ms. However, the pharmacy where I used to work (one of the major chains) states they can't sell expense items (i.e. rx bottles) to people. I am going to try calling some local independent pharmacies maybe.

Any other suggestions? Maybe something else instead of rx bottles?

Welcome bags for OOT guests

I'd like to make "welcome bags" for all of our OOT guests (we live in AZ and are getting married in WI). I'll be filling the bags w/some local WI goodies, maps, bottles of water, etc. I'd like to buy some tote bags, and was wondering what (if any) wording should I put on them. No one really wants a bag w/my name and my fiance's name on it, but I feel like it looks too bare if it was just plain. Any suggestions? Thanks!

My Fl is getting all the grooms men hunting knives for their gift, but we have 3 ring bearers. For the two younger boys I told him to get them a toy, but the older boy is 8. I told my Fl that he could not give him a knife, but I have no idea what to do.

I went to a wedding where when I got to my hotel, there was a little bag with different goodies inside and a note welcoming me from the bride and groom.
I love the idea and think it really goes above & beyond to show their appreciation to those who came the extra mile to come.
I'd love to do a similar thing for my family & friends coming into town but don't want to go over board, which i sometimes tend to do.

Any ideas of what to leave in their rooms when guests arrive for their stay?

Lining favor boxes before putting candy in?

I'm using 2x2x2 boxes with jordan almonds for my favors, but it seems "unfinished" to just toss them in. Has anyone else done a lining for a favor box with edible favors? I have tissue paper I was thinking of using, but I'm not sure what to do with it so that it's tucked in nice and neat, and yet none of the candy touches the walls of the box.

Suggestions?

Cake Balls--How Long Fresh?

Help!!

So I really, really want to make cake balls for my guest favor. Check out www.bakerella.com if you don't know what they are.

BUT, how long will these stay fresh for?
Can I store in a cool dry spot?
OR
Do they need to be kept in the freezer?
How long ahead do I need to make them and they will still taste good?

I want to make these myself and I think these will look like a "fancy" treat. But I don't want to make these just the week before or week of. Too much other stuff will be going on....if I can't make & store ahead, then I will just do M&M's (our initials are M&M).

Experienced bakers....chefs....tell me what you think!

we are in need of fun ideas for the reception...instead of everyone 'clinking' their glasses for us to kiss. We want to do something different and fun!

We've heard of:

drawing names of couples that have to kiss before we do

guests singing songs with 'LOVE' in them

we're not thrilled with these option, So any suggestions will help to get our thoughst going. The 'clinking' of the glasses is sooo corny and not us.

Cheap, DIY Ideas?

Does anyone have any good ideas for cheap, DIY favors? The ones I'm looking at are $29 for 60, and personalized. So I'm looking for something to beat that price and not be a huge undertaking.

The wedding theme is natural (the favors I'm looking at right now are wildflower seeds). I like the idea of something unusual or quirky as well.

I have a dilemma. I want to order personalized kisses to put on the tables at the reception however my name is too long. Should I go with initials and if so should I use my maiden name last initial or my new last name initial. Would that even be appropriate? Should I just use first initials, or would that look bad? Or should I leave it blank with just the date? I know my name would fit on the mini Hershey bars but I was really hoping for the kisses. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
