So I know that every base is different and such, but are any of you guys members of one or know much about them? FI brought home a ton a literature last Thursday (they had a welcome program for the new people on base) and one of the booths set up was for the OSG and FI went over and asked if he could have some information for his fiancee and if they accepted fiance/ees to join. She apparently gave him sort of a look and said something to the tune of "whatever, but it'd be easier if you were married." Not exactly warming me to the idea.

I've already e-mailed with the "Key Spouse," she actually gave him a welcome letter to give to me, and she seems really nice and pretty available. So, I guess, do I need to get involved with the OSG? Part of me says yes, because there's info I need, and also we'll be here 3 years and I want to be able to be involved on base, they seem to do a lot of service projects/fundraisers and get togethers, all of which sound like a lot of fun. The other part of me thinks I should just wait til after the wedding so that it's all kosher. I know that it looks good to have a spouse that's involved with the base, and I want FI to have it, plus, several things they do (like the bazaar) I've done before with groups and had a lot of fun with. And I'd like to meet some friends here. Any advice or personal experiences?

I just have a question about invitation wording. I believe that for junior grade officers, the rank goes under the name on the invitation, i.e.
John Doe
Lieutenant, United States Army
Could someone confirm the correctness of that if possible? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere!

I have seven different "recipes" in mind for the heart-shaped chocolates, but I don't want to be buying all sorts of ingredients. So I need to narrow it down to 3-4 choices. Here are the options:

*Milk chocolate filled with Nutella
*Milk chocolate filled with crunchy peanut butter
*Milk chocolate filled with caramel, topped with a small pinch of sea salt
*Milk chocolate infused with cinnamon and cayenne pepper
*White chocolate, dyed pink
*Cookies 'n' cream (white chocolate & crushed Oreos)
*White chocolate pretzel (crushed pretzels)

Help me decide! Which three of these would you most like to have?

It is getting close to the time to send out our invitations and I have no idea how to word it. I want to mention that we are already married, the date we were married, and that we now want to have a formal vow renewal ceremony with a reception to follow to celebrate with family and friends. Any suggestions for wording on invitations would be greatly appreciated! :) Thanks!

Hi all! I was hoping for a bit of help. My fiance is a Marine (no longer active duty) and would like to have a POW MIA table at our wedding. I have been seeing many variations of it online, but would like to make sure that we get it right.
This is the most common: (any input would be appreciated!)

POW / MIA Table

This small table occupies a place of dignity and honor. It is SET FOR ONE. Symbolizing the fact that members of our armed forces are missing from our ranks. They are refried to as POWs and MIAs. WE CALL THEM COMRADES. They are unable to be with their loved ones and families, so we join together to pay humble tribute to them, and to bear WITNESS to their continued ABSENCE.

The TABLE is small, symbolizing the frailty of one prisoner,,, alone,,, against his or her suppressors.

The TABLECLOTH IS WHITE, symbolic of the purity of their intentions to respond to their Country's call to arms.

The SINGLE ROSE in the vase signifies the blood they may have shed in sacrifice to ensure the freedom of our beloved United States of America. This rose also reminds us of the family and friends of our missing comrades who keep faith, while awaiting their return.

The RED RIBBON on the vase represents the red ribbons worn on the lapels of the thousands who demand,, with unyielding determination a proper account of our comrades who are not among us.

A SLICE OF LEMON on the plate reminds us of their bitter fate.

The SALT sprinkled on the plate reminds us of the countless fallen tears of families as they wait.

The GLASS is inverted, they cannot toast with us at this time.

The CHAIR is empty, they are NOT here.

The CANDLE is reminiscent of the light of hope, which lives in our hearts to illuminate their way home,, away from their captors,, to the open arms of a grateful nation.

The AMERICAN FLAG reminds us that many of them may NEVER return and have paid the supreme sacrifice to insure our freedom.

Let us pray to the SUPREME COMMANDER that ALL of our comrades will soon be back within our ranks.

Let us remember - and never forget their sacrifice.

May GOD forever watch over them and protect them and their families.

Ok so I just bought my vail tonight and it's stunning. I always imagined I would wear a vail for my ceremony and than take off for reception. But my mom insists that I keep vail on for reception thru the first dance. Espeically since we paid so much for it. Now I'm confused on what I should do. I've also been looking at wedding photos of other people and can't decide if pictures look better with or without the vail. What did y'all do? Wear vail for ceremony and reception and pictures? Or just ceremony? Am i reading too much into this? Opinions please.

Hi ladies!! I made it to my house last weekend, and I'm even more in love with my house than when we picked it out! My friend and her son are staying with me for at least another night, which has been great since she has helped me with all my painting and other things around the house. I have internet and cable hooked up, and tomorrow ADT comes to install my alarm system, and then after that I'll be fine sleeping here alone. It's just so quiet without TV yet and there are all new house noises to learn.

My HHG shipment hasn't come yet, and probably won't until early next week. My RDD is the 31st and it likely won't be here until then. For the meantime though we're camping out in my living room on air mattresses. Oh and the dogs are absolutely loving the huge backyard, especially with the sun and warm weather we've had lately.

Hopefully I will be around more often again soon (if not now), just wanted to pop in and say hi!

Hi lady!

I have a hair question for you. My dad is a hair dresser so I could ask him but he is busy during the day and don't want to call him.

So my hair is thick. Thicker than any hair my dad has ever styled. He complains every time he highlights and cuts it but I remind him I have his hair. :-)

Anyway, I usually blow it dry and use a straightener. My hair has a natural wave. Being in the south, I don't want to continue doing that because it will damage the shiit out of it. Especially with the sun and then adding a hot hair dryer and hot straightener.

My problem is, I'm not sure what product to use to keep frizz away and keep the wavy but also not have my hair expand to clown height.

Any product suggestions?

I just wanted to thank you again for recommending the BB cream to me, and helping me find it! I ordered the Dr. Young one, and I also ordered a Skin79 Crystal Pearl one because A) It was only 17 dollars, and B) It has that pearly, dewy look that I am into. Hopefully I get them this weekend! I am so excited! I am pretty sure that will be what my next blog entry will be about! :)

hwertpierklerusdf GRRR!

I am so frustrated. My wedding is 79 days away and only 1 of my 4 bridesmaids has ordered her dress. They keep coming up with every excuse in the damn book! All the groomsmen went and got fitted and sized and order. I sent FI's sister a message today and her response was "Ugh well I don't have the money I have been out of work for 6 weeks". Maybe I am sensitive because I have a lot on my plate right now, but I feel like no one cares that I want my wedding to be nice. We are spending a lot of money on it. I picked the cheapest dress and shoes that I could find for them that looked good on all of them... The total is less than 100$. Ugh

I'm also being totally picky about the job and I kinda feel like I have the right to be. I don't want to work nights or weekends but I sort of feel bad about being like that.

Hello All!

I have a military bridesmaid--she just joined the national gaurd and will be away at training school--after boot camp from april-november I believe she said. I'm getting married in October and I was wondering if she would be able to attend the wedding. I'm not worried about the pre-wedding parties or anything else. I just want to make sure she will be there. I love her a lot and I'm not too familiar with how this works.

I can be a bit gunshy when it comes to putting myself out there, but you ladies seem nice and I don't know any other military wives or fiances.
