In just a couple of months I will have had an account on TK for four years. That is crazy to me.

I'm feeling REALLY happy about joining this community a few years back (long after I started this account, but still).

Share some NEY love with me?

I LOVE that I get to see several of your lovely faces tom-freakin'-orrow. We are going to have so much fun. I finally get to meet @Swazzle, who I must mention is a big part of the reason I became a regular of sorts. She mentioned me like twice in some sorta question list about funny people on here or something grand like that. And I felt loved and couldn't shut up there after.

I LOVE that @cu97tiger and her H moved so close to become friends with me and my H. Even if they pretend they came to this region for other reasons/other people. Now our H's are bestfriends, and my life is prettier.

I LOVE that @beanbot2002 @CASK85 @Amapola14 @cu97tiger all live so close and G2Gs are so possible.

I LOVE that @swazzle @beanbot2002 @cu97tiger are gonna eat pizza, drink drinks, and eat homemade cookies at my house soon.

I LOVE that I have all of you to come to everyday to be entertained by, interact with, and learn from.

There is more love, but I have to get back to work.

Has anyone done a 5k run before?

I hate running but my boyfriend and I really need to get into shape, so we just signed up to do a 5k run in March with some people from his work as motivation to get in shape. So have any of you ladies done one before? Any advice on how to train and go from being able to run like not even 2 minutes to running a 5k? Did I mention that I hate running?

Hey everyone,

I used to post over a year ago, but took a break after ending a long-term relationship. I really regret ever leaving, because NEY has always been a fun way to burn some time and interact with some really great ladies (no worries, I never GBCK'ed)! I've continued to lurk from time to time, but miss posting so I'd like to come play again if that's okay with everyone. Please say yes!

I probably won't start my own threads for a little while other than this one, but rather join in on other discussions. I know several of you here, but many new regs have popped up in the past year or so and I feel a little lost. So some questions for everyone:

1. What was your favorite holiday gift you received this past season? Favorite one you gave?

2. What are you most looking forward to in 2014?

3. If you could go to any concert right now, what would you pick? Lets say a non-current artist or group is an option and money is not an issue.

The format and layout of TK has changed quite a bit since I've been gone. I feel a little overwhelmed on how to use this site now, so please bear with me as I figure this out. Look forward to getting to know you guys better!

Where to order an 11x14?

I need to print out an 11 x 14 picture. As you can see in my signature, we took a picture with our wedding photo on our one year anniversary. So now I need to print out the photo on the right, so we can take our second anniversary pic with it (only two'ish months away... wow!). I had a bad experience with CVS saying it would be delivered by 12/24 and it still not arriving, so do you all have any photo places that you'd recommend? Just a regular picture needed, NOT a canvas.

Booking Venues

To the married and engaged ladies,

How long did you wait to book your venue after you got engaged? I just got engaged on Christmas and we're hoping to get married next Spring. We're on a tight budget and I really want a reception either in a barn or something very similar and rustic and to have the ceremony outside. Not too many options in my area with our budget and I know venues book up fast so I'm emailing places already. We're in New England so it's kind of disappointing that if we tour places soon I can't see what the outside areas will look like IN PERSON during spring months. Just curious to see if other people wanted to book ASAP as well.

I came across this website called giveit100.com and it is awesome!

How the site works is you commit to doing something for 100 days and make a 10 second video for each day. If you miss a day, you give $1 to a charity. There are lots of people on the site to encourage each other and it's just the most uplifting virtual place to be. I just thought I'd share it with you all if you made any tough new years resolutions.

I'm on day 4 of playing scales (cause I fail my scales test every semester) and there are others who are doing weight loss, learning a new language, and just trying new things. This site will keep you honest and provides a good support system, check it out. Happy (sorta) new year!

Hi ladies! I hope you are all having a merry Christmas Eve

Ok, so I'm gonna sort of bring down the mood (sorry). My boyfriend, J's, mother has been in the hospital for the past four months fighting heart failure. Yesterday, we found out that she has no chance of living without a heart transplant, and even then, there is only a 5% chance that her body won't reject the new heart if she gets one in time. J's father left when he was a kid and his grandfather died of heart failure two years ago, so his mother is all that he has left. The reason we haven't gotten engaged yet is because J wants to keep saving money for the perfect engagement.

J and I really want his mother to be at our wedding, which we were planning for the summer, but I don't know if she will make it that long. Since we aren't officially engaged yet, it makes it hard to try and "move dates" since there is nothing set in stone. I want J to propose so that we can actually plan on getting married while his mother is still alive, but every time I mention it, he says that he doesn't want to get a cheap ring, which is all he can afford. I keep telling him that the money is not important but he is still putting it off to keep saving money.

I want his family to witness our forever and for his mother to see her only son walk down the isle, but he is thinking more about me and giving me the best. So, my question is, should I just drop the urgency and allow him to hold off on getting engaged until he can buy the "perfect" ring, or is there a way that I can let him know that his mother is more important than the fancy engagement/ wedding traditions and try to get things moving so his mother can take part in the biggest day of his life? Honestly, he could ask me with no ring and I would say yes because I just want to officially start planning for the rest of my life with him.

Also, have any of you ladies ever been through something like this with your SO and how did you help him through it? It breaks my heart to see him loosing someone who means so much to him.

Morning ladies!

I have been on a reading frenzy. I read 'Dark Places' and 'Sharp Objects' by Gillian Flynn over the weekend. I liked them both a lot and I liked them both better than 'Gone Girl', which I read a while ago. They're both definitely creepy and dark and kind of disturbing but they were entertaining, nonetheless.

Yesterday, I started and finished 'Delirium' by Lauren Oliver which is the first of a trilogy. I'm starting the second book, 'Pandemonium', today and the third is 'Requiem'. I'm REALLY liking this trilogy so far. It has a similar feel to Hunger Games and Divergent. Has anyone read them?

I think I want to set some sort of reading goal for myself this year. Maybe I'll shoot for 50.

Have you read any good books lately? Do you set a reading goal for yourself?

Gym Memberships

Any 24 Hour Fitness members here? H and I really need to start getting in regular workouts and even though we have some equipment at home, I find we're more dilligent about it if we have to actually leave the house pay for it. I had a gym I loved, but they moved locations and it's just not feasable anymore. 24 seems to have reasonable prices, offers classes and it's nice we could use any sport club across the country when we travel for work or vacation.

Any members that can tell me if they like it or not? Anyone have a gym they'd recommend that might be in the Denver area as well? Do you all work out at a gym or at home?

BF has had a slightly rattly cough for two days. Last night I said to him "I hope you don't have bronchitis - all I have to do is THINK about it, and I get it." (I get bronchitis AT LEAST once or twice a year, every year, my whole life. I have sensitive lungs.) He sighs and goes "I don't think that's it. I hope I don't have pneumonia."

Okay, drama queen, let's settle down a little bit. You've been coughing for two days, and your first thought is that you have PNEUMONIA?! I go "have you ever HAD pneumonia before?" "No." dahuigonoiuvprnaelndafjkdioapghiohgf

I officially hate the shift from college to post college life. I've been trying to get a gyn appointment for months now. The place I was calling kept saying they weren't scheduling March. My last year's was March 5 at my college health center. I called up my previous place and managed to get an appointment for March 6, but one big issue. I'll have my period that week. But my birth control pills are up on March 8 so if I don't go to the appointment, I'll have to be a month off pills. No idea what to do. The school won't extend my prescription a month.

Diamond Alternatives

So I've read a lot of posts on this board about different alternatives to getting a diamond. Moissanite, asha, run of the mill CZ, etc. The thing is i've never seen any of them in person, and they all kind of seem the same to me online. To anyone who has them, or has seen them, can you weigh in on what you think of them?

The only cz jewelry I own is some Diamonique studs from QVC because I am reallllllly good at loosing earrings, so I thought they would be a better investment. They look real enough to me, I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between those and my real diamond studs.

My brother gave me a gift card to BevMo (It's a giant liquor store stocked to the brim with all different sorts of alcoholic goodness. There's also goodness that's non-alcoholic, but that's not much fun), and today I went there before class with BF. Last time I was there I was ogling all the various jars of fruity moonshine. Tonight I got to get two new additions to my ever-growing alcohol family (that hardly ever gets touched) and I got peach moonshine and a peach lambic. The moonshine is DELICIOUS! I had to try a little before putting it away.

I just had to share with you ladies my excitement over my newest alcohol purchases. Next time I hope to get the apple pie flavor and the strawberry one as well.

If anyone has had it or any other type of moonshine, let me know what you thought of it.

Every time I visit the town I grew up in I get bombarded with questions of "when are you getting engaged?" "why aren't you married yet?" "what are you waiting for?" and lots of people inviting themselves to my future wedding...WTF?! I've seriously had people ask me questions about where and when the wedding will be because they want to come. Umm...I'm not engaged so the wedding is non-existent people, there is no where or when! This does not happen when I'm in Colorado. There are no people nagging me to get married or crazy people just inviting themselves to a future wedding that is in no way being planned!

Please tell me this happens to some of you ladies and it's not just the people in my life that are completely insane!

Mine was pretty good, busy and a bit confusing. I auditioned for two shows one I called back for the lead and didn't get the other I got cast in but I am not sure I want to do the show or not. FI and I began our registry at Bed Bath and Beyond, it was a lot of fun. I love our china pattern it's the Wedgewood Ballet Ribbon.

Other than that FI & I stayed in, it was pretty cold. We played some board games this weekend, he always beats in me in Scrabble no matter how hard I try or how close I come.

Did anyone have an exciting weekend? Hopefully it wasn't too cold. It's warm today but it's supposed to be real cold again tomorrow :-(

what's happening? weekend plans?

this morning, I was taking the lid off my new glass coffee tumbler so I could refill it to take to work. to my surprise, it shattered in my hands!! I am so thankful that I didn't slice my hand or wrist. I work with a lady who had some glass shatter in her hands, and a large shard sliced her wrist. it ended up permanently damaging her hand... she'll never have full use of it again, and she can't even fully extend her fingers anymore. it's almost useless. I sent an email to the company, and I'm hoping Target will give me a refund.

any recommendations for a BPA-free coffee tumbler??
