Groom in desperate need of advice

Hello all, I need some help. Initially my fiance did not want a videographer for our wedding. I was fine with it, but I think she really would like one now. The problem is that our wedding is next month! We are getting married in the Manchester, NH area and I was wondering if anyone knew of anyone in the area that they would recommend. I've called a bunch of places, but I am from CT and cannot really "swing by" so everything has to be done over the phone. Any suggestions of companies to use would be so much appreciated. Thanks!!!

Fall engagement photo ideas?

We're getting married next fall so we thought it'd be perfect if we took our engagement pictures this fall with all the foliage, etc. But aside from a pumpkin patch I'm having a hard time coming up with places and posing suggestions for our photographer.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Tipping photog for engagement session

Our engagement session is next month and we've already booked the same photographer for our wedding next year (given deposit and all). I'm just curious, has anyone tipped your photographer for your engagement pictures? Or do you just wait until after your wedding to tip him/her for all of their work combined?

we only got one limo to bring me and my husband from church to reception but there is a nice amount of time in between... and i'd hate to have everyone else in the bridal party have to drive different cars to meet us for pictures. is it tacky for us to go somewhere romantic to take pictures just us?

November 2013 Wedding Picture Locations?

My fiance and I are having some problems coming up with indoor locations in the suburbs around us (Niles, Evanston, Des Plaines, etc). If anyone can help us figure out places that would be available to take wedding pictures indoors in the Chicago suburbs around Niles that would be awesome. Also, we're willing to use permit locations and if there are any nice November outdoor location you can recommend that would be much appreciated too. We're trying to stay away from Chicago and the downtown area because it's not really our thing, but if anyone knows offhand a place that doesn't require permits or minimal permit price downtown and is indoor we're definitely willing to consider it.

How to tell photographer we won't be using her services?

I met with this great photographer. But when I say great, I mean her personality. We instantly clicked. She's actually a friend of a friend, and I feel like the two of us could form a friendship. We got to chit chatting and we have a lot in common. Her pictures are of good quality, but I was attracted to her work-ethic, friendliness, and open-mindedness. Only problem is - she kind of ASSUMED that just because we showed an interest in her, we definitely want to use her services. She has sent multiple overly-excited e-mails (signing them with the word "hugs"), saying that our wedding day will be beautiful, asking if we have any questions, yada ya. Which would be great had we said that we would definitely like to book her.

We have since found a photographer whose work I ADORE. He has wonderful reviews and his photography style is exactly how I'd like for our wedding. He's less expensive, too. There are a few downsides, as he doesn't work with a second shooter and I don't believe he's quite as friendly (but I have only talked to him via e-mail) as the aforementioned photographer. But shouldn't picture quality be more important than the photographer's personality?

If we do decide to go with the photography whose work we like more, how can I let the first photographer down easy? She seemed so excited to shoot our wedding, but it's also not really fair to us as clients who simply showed an interest and never committed. She's such a nice person and I'm such a people pleaser. Help!

Pictures for Plus Size women! Help!

We had a very small wedding, and want to send out announcements to people who couldn't make it, but with photos on the cards so that they can at least have a few images of the day. Inexpensive videographers in Michigan?

We splurged on an expensive but great photographer thinking we weren't going to want a videographer, but now we're thinking the day is going to go so quickly and we would like to have it back on video for us and maybe close family to see. Not looking for the most amazing, high-quality stuff, but hoping to find the best for what we can afford. So, anyone know if any good and relatively inexpensive videographers in Michigan that you or someone you know worked with? We are in the metro Detroit area and our budget would allow for something around 700-1200. It would mean so much if you ladies could help me out!

Wedding 911 -10 days to the wedding and EX photographer is holding my money for his pictures!!!

We did a contract with the photographer and now they have breached it because they didn't like our criticism of the photos. We paid $700 and the engagement photos were done as a trade of services. I babysat their 5 children from 12pm-12 am, drove around his wife, did manual labour by putting together a rock garden for the mother-in-law, drove her around town, etc etc and all they did was meet us for a few hours took a few pictures and they were awful. I was upset when they thought that I was just doing this out of the goodness of my heart but now they want me to give my photos of us to them. They were the ones who said 14 days to the wedding that they don't think they were right because I didn't like the photos. My fiance has a rod in his back. He can't pose the way they want him to, and they took the pictures at all sorts of weird angles and were really goofy. I don't mind that they were goofy but would it have killed them to get one shot where we actually looked decent? I need something to display. I put the pictures on my own SD card, not theirs, and they shot about 250 shots. Most of them of the venue and scenic areas. Would it have killed them to take more time with us? They didn't even explain to my fiance how to pose. I am this close from taking them to small claims court. The wife is bickering that if they are even missing one photo that they won't give us back any of our money. The stupid part is that it was cash. I don't even know if it is a registered business.. So angry right now. Why should I even give back the photos? They are my property as much as they are his but he breached his contract.

Slide Show @ Reception? Alternative?

Our DJ package comes with a slide show...we plan to run it during dinner, so no one is forced to watch it or is bored to death. Thing is, all of our "old" photos are just that - OLD. They are a from the early 80's, are small and the quality is not great. We started to toss around ideas and thought maybe we do a "road to the wedding" slide show instead. Photos would be us in the early dating stages, each of us with our wedding party people/family and all the way up to the wedding....our story as a couple. Thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions definitely welcome!!!

Hi ladies!

I am newly engaged as of June, we are planning a September 2014 wedding and I am quickly learning to book vendors ASAP. I have a photographer I am in talks with, but it is super important to me to have a videographer for our special day as well. In addition to a videographer, I really want to have a slideshow play at our reception with our baby/childhood pictures, etc. But I have no idea where to start. Can anyone recommend any videographers in the Pittsburgh area? I am assuming they could put the slideshow together for us?

My fiance and I are friends with 3 very good photographers. One is my aunt and the other two are really good family friends of both of our families. We have no idea who to pick. My aunt takes good pictures but they just aren't really my style and she will have to be in pictures herself. One of our family friends also takes good pictures but they are too posed for my liking and I know that will not change. I really want the other family friend to take our pictures but I have a feeling it will hurt the others feelings. I am considering getting someone else entirely (I've already found another photographer I like) so there are no hard feelings and everyone can relaxing and enjoy the day. Thoughts?

We had hired a photographer, but not a videographer for our daughter's wedding. We were referred by friends to this company that takes your wedding photos, and produces the most beautiful video montage videos, set to romasntic music, really high tech effects, the works. Best part is the video is only about 15 minutes long - perfect to share with our friends (without them getting bored!). Our kids absolutely LOVE it.
