So after what seemed like an eternity (really... it was 2 weeks.. im just crazy impatient haha) i picked up our CD with all of our engagement pictures today! I loved the preview our photographer posted the day after the session SO MUCH and i was so anxious to see how they all turned out. I could not be happier! Hey All!

I actually already got married but I stumbled across this deal today and thought it might help someone. On Groupon, there is currently a deal going on for $10 for an 8x8 photo book from Shutterfly (regularly $29.99). They actually had the same deal going on last year when I got married, and I bought the deal because I didn't want to spend a fortune on parent photo albums. The albums turned out great and actually looked as good as my own wedding album that my photographer made (yes, this probably says something about my photographer...).

In terms of actually getting the deal, I found it by going to http://www.groupon.com/r/uu5715536, selecting Indianapolis for the city and clicking on "all deals," but it may be under other cities as well.

Hi everyone!

Can anyone recommend a good photobooth company around the Boston, MA area? I'm looking for one for 4-5 hrs, unlimited photos (B/W or Color), 2 4 picture strips should print out, where the guest gets to keep one and the other is placed in a scrap book on site and they can leaves notes.

I'm having a hard time finding one that does all of the above but I know they exist! I've been to weddings where it's happened however, they were all out of town weddings and I can't find any local to me.

Post-Wedding Pic Advice--- HELP!

I got married on 8/20/11 and I just got my wedding pics back last night from the photographer and I'm really upset!!!! All of the pictures turned out great from her but there is one problem... not ONE picture is of me and my husband together posing to call our actual "wedding picture"!!! I don't know what to do, I've made the suggestion to my photographer to get back dressed up and mock our wedding day (my husband and me) and she's all for it but is that the right thing to do? I want pictures of us together actually looking at the camera posing, the only ones she has of us are during the ceremony, cutting the cake, first dance, etc. I need some advice on what would you do if you were in my shoes?.... Just keep the pictures of the wedding day you have and deal with it or would you mock your wedding day to have the wedding photos you've always dreamed of? I'm so confused and upset--- please help!

I know there is a similar post on here right now about this but I think this is a little different. We are trying to figure out how many hours to get our photographer for. The wedding will be starting at 5 and then when have our venue for 4hrs for the reception. So give or take our reception will start about 5:30 and be over about 9:30 unless we pay for an extra hour. So if we stick to schedule that's 4 1/2 hours. If we go with with 6hrs the photographer will be there about 1 1/2 before the wedding starts of if we go with 8 it will be 3 1/2 hours before the wedding starts. How early did you have your photographer get this or are planning on them getting there before the ceremony starts?

Help!! Not sure about out Photog.

So we initially chose an old co-worker who is a professional photographer to take our pics. He's OOT and said he'd only charge us $250 for a $1,000 package!! Great!! The problem is, my mom just asked what was in the photography package and I believe it's only a CD of the pics he takes. I texted him to see what the package includes, but haven't heard back yet.

Do you think a disc of pictures is worth $250? We have other family/friends that are photographers (it runs in the family) and one said he'd be a free second shooter. Help!!

FI are thinking about doing first look photos before the ceremony because:

1. We want to go straight from the ceremony to the reception
2. We're getting married in a church, but we want outdoor pictures somewhere else with pretty scenery instead of just taking pictures on the church's lawn
3. It sounds like a neat experience

For those of you who did this, is this when you did family pictures as well? Are photographers usually willing to leave and then come back? (Pictures aren't allowed to be taken during the ceremony...so he/she'd have to leave and then come back for the reception.)

I know photographers are different, but I was just wondering how your experience went. Thanks!

I recently had the opportunity to spend some time with a couple of wedding photographers and we discussed what's becoming a very popular nuptial trend -- boudoir photography.

I went into the discussion with an open mind, but I'm curious, interested in other's thoughts -- totally worth the experience, or too private? And how is the best way to find the perfect photographer, where you are actually comfortable with the shoot.

On Location Houston Photography- Warning

On Location Houston Photography ended our vendor/client relationship without providing 3 items originally promised in our agreement. Our package was paid for in full before our wedding.

We were very unhappy with the level of professionalism of this photographer, and absolutely would not recommend On Location Houston to anyone.

Upon trying to review this vendor, our review was disputed by her, so we are not even able to leave honest feedback in the vendor reviews on Wedding Wire.

Glasses or no glasses for wedding pictures?

I still have time, I'm not planning on getting married until May 2013, but I've been wondering if I should wear my glasses in my wedding pictures or contacts. I wear my glasses all the time, but I used to wear contacts from time to time for special occasions. So of course, when I am not wearing my glasses, I think I look weird because I am so used to the way I look with my glasses on, but the few times I've worn contacts everyone tells me that I look so much better without them.

So basically... wiill my pictures probably turn out better if I don't wear glasses? I know it's ultimately my decision, but I'm curious what other people's experiences have been. My fiance also wears glasses, he has never and will never wear contacts. Thanks for your help!

Wedding Photography in Greece - Coordinate and SAVE!

Hi!

My name is Jessica, and I'm planning a very small wedding in Santorini Greece for the first week of June 2012. I was researching photographers (because the ones most Greek hotels offer look very poor quality) and came across this website... http://www.aperturephotographics.com/

He's from Oregon but does destination weddings, and reduces his price significantly if the brides can coordinate. Since I want to go the first week of June, if any other brides have a wedding in the area (Athens, Santorini, or another Greek Island) within the same time frame (give or take one week) and choose to use this guy as a photographer everyone can save a lot of money. If we can coordinate 4-5 brides his package costs only $2500 (all inclusive) for a FULL day of photography at your location in Greece and digital copies of all the images. I believe booking him for just 1 destination wedding would cost $5000-6000 for his time, travel expenses, photos etc.

I was just hoping to put this idea out there and see if there were any other brides on the knot who were thinking about a Greek wedding... because if we wanted to use the same photographer we could all save and still have amazing pictures! Let me know if you are interested, or if you know of anyone who is thinking about a Greek wedding who may be interested! Thanks!

If you use a friend as your photographer...

Hi Ladies,

I've been having conversations with recent brides about their weddings, and I began to hear a trend. The ones who used a friend were disappointed by the pictures.

It wasn't an issue of quality, but of the shots that were taken. There were very few pictures of the grooms' families (the photographers were friends of the brides). The photographers tended to take pictures of people they were familiar with. Special people in the audience (aunts, uncles, cousins, old friends) were not shot. Since they can't go back and take those candid shots again, they were left wishing they hired a stranger.

So, if you are thinking of using a friend, make sure to have a conversation with them about getting pictures of everyone. If there's a chance to introduce them early to people they will see at the wedding, do so.

When should the photographer contact you?

We hired our photographers --jen and jody photography back in December for our November 11 th, 2011 wedding. I am starting to get curious when they should be contacting me to get a shot list, find out more about location and times? They require the balance paid 60 prior to the event in full which is coming up Monday, and still no word from them...I am starting to get nervous we are forgotten. Am I just being paranoid?

FI and I just received the contract from our photographer for our July wedding. We're eloping so we don't really have anyone to run it by but from google I found some things that it needs to include.. but I'm still a little lost.

The photographer's business is very highly reviewed with lots of weddings in the portfolio.

There also isn't any specific photographer on the contract, just the business. The emails said that the owner will be doing it, but should I ask for there to be something in the contract about him specifically and if he can't make it if he will send someone else?

There isn't anything about equipment or anything on there either. I think TK says you should have that?

Okay, last one I think: half the payment is due upon signing and then the remainder is due 8 weeks before the wedding. Is that normal?

He's giving me a really good deal so I don't want to be too picky but it's still a lot of money so I don't want to leave out anything important.

EDIT: I reread the contract and found where the cancellations policy is, so I took that out of my post.
