My dress doesn’t fit and I’m getting a new one. What should I do with the old one?

ive been engaged since July of 2016 and we are getting married September of 2019. I got my dress way to early and have gained weight since, it is too tight for alterations to allow it to fit. It is mermaid style and button down so I corset back wouldn’t work either. Do you think there is anything I could do other than losing weight to get it to fit cause that’s not working? Or is there any site/stores that would be good to sell it to to get a fraction of my money back. Spent 1000 on it. I regret it so much and wish I could go back and get either 2 sizes up or wait to get a dress 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Second Guessing my wedding dress

So my wedding is in June of next year and I got my dress far in advance. However, I am having reservations about it now that it has come in. The silly thing is when I try it on I really really like it (maybe because I don't fully see myself), but in pictures I'm not sure how I feel about it. Every time I look at pictures it I constantly question it. Does any one have advice who may have gone through this before?

Wedding Dress Dilemma

I got my wedding dress online at JJshouse. I will be including an image of me in the dress plus the wrap I'm intending to buy for it. I've always wanted a red wedding dress and was set on it, but I had changed my mind last minute. I just recently found a red ball gown that I adore. The problem is I have no idea if a ball gown would be appropriate for time and occasion of the wedding.

Background details of wedding: My wedding will be in Las Vegas at the Chapel Of The Flowers (an image in the collage will show what the ceremony venue looks like). My wedding will be at 11:30AM.

My wedding bouquet is white roses and sunflowers and my wedding dress is ivory.

Please be kind. I'm a short plus size bride (think plus size apple body type) and I've been back and forth between loving and also hating myself in my wedding dress. I don't know if it's just my insecurities and half the time thinking I look like a sausage.

Here's the burgundy ballgown dress. I'm getting in contact with the seller to if the ballgown could be made ankle or tea length to make it less than formal. However, my wedding dress has a train so in a way it is still formal.

Other interesting details: my fiance's favorite color is red (same as me). The dress actually posted for availability on his birthday on the 17th of this month. I'm huge on *signs*.

Any advice of which would be best would be great of preference and appropriate attire for late morning wedding.

Do brides not wear light brown stoles?

Hey guys!

So, I'm planning to get married in an ivory & champagne wedding dress on a mountain and I'm wanting to get a light brown faux fur stole to keep me warm. The problem I keep running into is that I've only been able to find furs which are "blush/light brown" (not just light brown). I know the blush color is made to blend well with champagne dresses, but I also know that I've seen plenty of photos of women with wraps that look light brown (without any pinkish tinting). Are those brides actually wearing blush/light brown furs & the lighting just makes it look light brown? Have any of you ever seen faux furs that are simply tan/cream/beige/light brown?

hi everyone! I was very lucky to get my wedding dress at the 99 dollar sale at David’s bridal.... but now I would love to find the bridesmaids a dress that doesn’t break the bank too! The girls come in a variety of sizes, so we would need a location with lots of selection. I am not super picky about style (my wedding isn’t formal, maxi skirts or dresses would be fine!), I more care about colour and price. Does anyone have a good recommendation for where we can find the girls a dress that costs less then $100, or am I crazy for thinking that exists 😂? Thanks so much

Crinoline under sheath??

hi everyone,
my dress is considered a sheath, and I’m feeling like I want it to have a fuller skirt. I’ve attached a picture of a very similar dress to mine. Has anyone tried putting a crinoline under this type of dress? I have lots of length and the dress is too big, so I technically have room to fit one under it!

Should I keep the costume for a wedding or rent it for one night?

Just two months into the groom, and I have not yet decided what kind of shoe I should choose. Because I was so hard on my high heeled shoes, I preferred to choose a shoe that's comfortable.

But my husband would look like a heeled shoe that looks like a photo on a site.

Hello,

I really need help deciding between these two dresses. I am getting married in a meadow (weather permitting) in September in Arkansas with a reception in a white barn. I tried on the short sleeve dress in North Carolina (where my fiance lives) and the long sleeve in Texas (where I live) and I can't find a salon anywhere that has both. So trying them on back to back isn't an option. When I look at pictures it's really hard because they are in different lighting so it's hard to be a true judge.

If I had to describe my wedding in 3 words I would say classic, romantic and fun.

Please help!!!! Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.TIA!!!

I recently just bought my wedding dress it's a Casablanca 2110 in Champagne/ivory, picture below, I am now looking for a veil and I dont know what color I should get. Champagne, in the pictures, looks to dirty but I dont know if ivory will make my dress look dirty. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance! Help!! I’ve known from the start my fiancé isn’t a huge fan of “poofy” dresses but ended up getting one anyways because I’m not confident when it comes to something tighter and I had the mindset “he’ll like it on me”. I absolutely LOVED my dress, even surprised myself by bursting into tears when I knew it was “the one”. Fast forward to now, 4 months later, now that I’ve picked it up. When I first ordered it I couldn’t stop looking at pictures of it, I was obsessed. Now, I worry it’s too big and overpowering on me, and second guessing my decision entirely. Is this common?? I'm getting re-married (his second also) and we are eloping at Moraine Lake in Canada. My dress is super simple but elegant (Martina Liana- Casey top/Sawyer skirt in the Stone color). I’m a quirky person. I had originally thought of wearing wedges and ordered a pair, but it just didn’t go as planned. I’m more of the be comfortable type of lady. I’ve been going on and off with the idea of wearing sneakers, because I’ll be out all day and will be walking around the Las Vegas Strip.

I found some that I thought would be interesting and narrowed it down to two. They’re customized by the same seller.

Wedding Dress Shopping In Another State

Hello! I am new to the site. I am getting married (destination wedding) in May. I currently live in Missouri, but I am from California. I REALLY want certain members from my family to be with me when I go wedding dress shopping. So, I have decided to look for a dress while I am in California in September.

Has anyone purchased a dress from another state? If so, what was your experience? Any helpful tips/suggestions?

Also, I am not sure if I should make more than one appointment per day to look for dresses. I will only be there one week and the majority of everyone has to work during the week, so I am somewhat bound to the one weekend to look for a dress. Thoughts?

What a disaster! I finally found a bridesmaid dress style that I loved at a bridal store where I live and viewed the (very small) swatch of the color I wanted which seemed to match the color shown online. The price at the store was steep and I was excited to find the same designer dress on Bridesmaids.com for a much better price. What luck! When I received the dresses however, they were NOT the same color! My beautiful fall slate blue wedding just became a spring time baby blue and I'm so sad. And bonus, none of the dresses fit my bridesmaids, they are all too small! I personally measured my bridesmaids and we used the sizing guide by the dress designer Bari Jay which was listed on their website. Despite the reviews of their terrible customer service, I went ahead and sent the email with pictures to them. Of course they came back saying there is nothing they can do and that it was an issue of screen resolution. Needless to say, unless you have personally put on the exact style, color and size of the dress you are ordering, I would stay away from this company! Trust me, its not worth the disappointment and anxiety.

First off I’m a size 16 I went shopping at two plus size wedding dress stores. I didn’t want to go somewhere and see dress they didn’t have in my size. I ended up getting something different then what I originally wanted. I think part me was so overwhelmed with dress shopping I wanted it to be done and I was like this is nice it looks pretty I’m done. When I look at pictures I like my dress but I’m not in love with it. Did you have second thoughts after putting a deposit down?

Hi all! This is a picture of my wedding dress which I ordered last weekend. I am getting married in December and have no idea what to wear WITH my dress. In the picture I'm wearing it with a sparkly belt but I also did try it with a satin belt. I need ideas for hair accessories, veils, jewelry, shoes, etc. The dress is ivory and sparkly all the way down to the floor in a sparsely sequined way. And would you believe it has pockets?? I'm leaning more towards a greenery tiara or sparkly head band and no veil. Shoes I'm not as worried About because no one will see them. I'm hoping to have a long bob to shoulder length hair and I'll have it up except for bangs or a few long pieces to frame my face. Ignore my expression. I'm terrible in pictures lol

Ringbearer Suits?

Hello all!
I am not a bride, but I am the ringbearers' mom. Here's the situation. The bride and groom picked out a Navy Suit from Men's Warehouse. My sons are a size 2T and 5T. The Suit chosen only comes in a 5T and not a 2T. I had no idea how hard it would be to match a navy suit, but it has not been a cake walk for sure. It is a very dark Navy almost black.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I think I would need to get both of them in the same suit so at least they match each other. I did buy one off amazon but the color was much more of a blue navy instead of this black navy. I didn't realize this until I went into the store today to try and match it up. Do I buy black ones? or try to find a dark dark dark Navy?

Any help would be great.

Help! I bought my dress a couple months ago and I love it, but today I had the urge to try on more dresses. (I know, I know) I fell in love with another one and now can't decide between the two.
I would have to sell the one I already purchased, but ultimately I'm OK w that. I just want to WOW.
Dress I already purchased is strapless, lace, has detachabl lace train secured with a sparkly belt.
Dress from today has lace illusion sleeves and illusion back. I'm so torn! Wedding will be outdoors April 28 and I small, informal, country chic. Fiance is wearing jeans and boots and a nice collared shirt. I'l be wearing boots as well.

I know which dress I want for my wedding party, but the price difference between ordering in store vs online websites is about a $40+ savings!
