So I need, I mean NEED a bra for a bridesmaids dress that has a mostly open back. I have relatively large, heavy, and unfortunately not very firm breasts. (TMI maybe, sorry.) I ordered the dress with the largest bra cups available sewn in, but they nearly aren't big enough and offer minimal support. Has anyone found a solution for this situation? The dress is Dessy "After Six" 6740. https://dessy.com/dresses/bridesmaid/6740/#.WBQV1neZOb8

I am starting the wedding dress hunt and am wondering everyone's thoughts on short dresses. I am quite clumsy and don't want to have to deal with tripping over a train all day and also want to be able to show off my legs. My wedding send off is in a hot air balloon so I am also looking for a dress that will easily fit into the balloon. I found a short dress I really like and was thinking of pairing it with a floor length veil to help make it more elegant. Everywhere I read though does not recommend long veils for short dresses so I don't know if that would look weird. I am also worried I might regret not doing a longer dress. What do you guys think?

Hello!

I'm the MOH for my best friend's wedding and we've run into a couple snaffus with the darn dresses. There's 3 including me and the bride has decided on the color and length, but wants to have a little more say in the dress as far as fit ect.

I'm a pain because I'm currently pregnant and will be breastfeeding during the wedding so I need a sturdier top to support me.

We originally went to Alfred Angelo and found 3 dresses. One bridesmaid and I fell in love with 1, but the third bridesmaid really didn't like any of them.

So the bride decided to start over again and went online. We decided on dresses on jjshouse, but all the reviews scare me. Thisis especially since I really can't judge my size and the customer support lady told me to wait until a MONTH before the wedding and have all the girls order at the same time so they're the same color. That's a little tight for my liking.

All 3 bridesmaids live in different states and the bride is in the military. She currently out of the country for the next month-ish so communication is spotty (the poor thing called me from the airport when we were nailing down dresses.)

So, any recommendations as far as what others have done? I'm considering trying to talk to her about letting us just pick our own dress in the length and color, but it may be a bit before I can talk to her again.

Any success with JJshouse? Besides Alfred Angelo and David's Bridal, anyone know of a bridal salon that's across the US?

Thank you in advance!

Hi! I am planning a super casual wedding and am thinking of having our groomsmen in khakis, a button up (short sleeve or long - their preference!) flip flops, and suspenders. Just curious what some of the stores are that others have found that specialize in this kind of attire, with multiple color options, for a really affordable price! And really affordable means like $50 per guy, give or take. I know I could start somewhere like Macy's or other department store but I am interested to hear of other one-of-a-kind finds some of you may have come across in the past. Thank you so much!

LSS, my FSIL really loved a flower girl dress she saw on there. I expressed my reservations and pointed her toward some reviews/horror stories (elsewhere, since they're not on the site itself), as well as similar dresses on more reputable sites. She says she's not worried. Okay.

I mean, I'm not worried, only because it's a dress for my kid. If it's crap, the wedding can still go on as planned, NBD. (We're packing a backup dress for DD, JIC. Not another FG dress, just a nice dress so that if the LITB dress is unwearable, DD has something to wear to the wedding other than shorts and a tee.) My brother and FSIL were kind enough to pay for the FG dresses (there are 3 FG total), so it's not even like I'll be out any money if this whole thing goes south. I'll feel badly for them, but I said my piece, FSIL ordered the dresses, and now I'm zipping it.

But Light in the Box is bad, right? Maybe I'm just out of the loop. Anyone had any experience with them, good/bad/indifferent?

I am not against tattoos, I have a few myself. BUT, my sister has a full sleeve that I do not want my guests to see- poop emoji, zombie cupcake, skulls... Plus, my family does not approve of her tattoos. She has said she is fine not being in my wedding because of them, but that isn't an option for me.

My wedding is in the summer (2018), so I would like for my bridesmaids to wear short dresses. In order for my sister's tattoos to be covered, she will need long sleeves (or at least a long sleeve for the left arm). I've looked online at different websites but haven't found anything. Do any of you bride-to-bes have suggestions?? I thought about finding dresses and having sleeves added, but I don't know if that is possible with some dresses.

EDIT: My sister has absolutely no problem covering up her tattoos. She covers them at every family gathering, even when it's hot, because she knows my grandparents and mom don't like tattoos. Her comment about not being in the wedding was to appease my family members who do not like tattoos. Either way, she is wearing long sleeves at my wedding as she has already made that decision to avoid negative comments from my grandparents and family.

The wedding is a Saturday evening in July and I know the bride is wearing a rather formal gown and the bridesmaids are wearing long black chiffon dresses but for some reason I still wonder if it's too much. However, it's an Octagon! So finding a wedding band to match has been basically impossible. I've tried on a few but I don't really like it when the two rings don't sit flush next to each other, I've been looking into getting something made that would fit the shape of my e-ring. I was told by a couple of jewellers that apparently it's not worth it because it will twist anyway and not sit next correctly anyway.

I'm just wondering if anyone has rings like this and what their experience has been?
Thanks!!

Where is everyone buying their bridesmaids dresses? Local boutique, chain, online? If online, what stores are you looking at? I'm only having two in my party, MOH and one BM. The problem is all three of us live in different states so can't shop together. If I find a couple styles I like in a local bridal salon, I'm not sure how that would work since I can't have them try them on. I was thinking David's Bridal would make sense because they'll both have access to one. How are you ladies with out of town bridal parties handling this?

Hello all,

I purchased my lace A-line dress from David's Bridal a few months ago. It has a lace-up back, corset boning, and a straight strapless neckline. When I tried it on, the lady that helped me did not show me or recommend any bra options. Now that I have the dress, I am wondering what kind of "enhancement" options will work best. I just don't want to feel self-conscious (flat) on my wedding day!!!!!!!! I am very petite and small-chested (like, only 32A). The main problem: the cup area is loose. But I would like to avoid completely altering the top, since it might change the look of the dress and be way too costly. I have had cups sewn into bridesmaids dresses before, and although they help fill out the top, they do not "push me up" at all, so I'm looking for other options. I've also tried on a strapless push up bra that I already had, but it did not give me any extra boost - it just helped fill out the cup area. I LOVE the dress and how the rest of it fits!!! I really just need help finding a garment that will help give the look of larger cup size and create cleavage. That va-va-voom effect, you know?! Any ideas?? Suggestions???

Thanks everyone!
-JJWedding

Can anyone offer some thoughts on which one is the best or provide any insight if they have been to any of the three? The current options are Richfield Regency ($110 pp), The Bridgewater Manor ($98 pp) and the Sterling Ballroom ($110 pp). Although I have visited these locations, i haven’t been to a wedding at any of these venues so any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi all, I need to choose my wedding dress by THIS Friday (4/21) and I am torn between one that I tried on in the shop with my dad and stepmom and loved (the Elisabetta Dress) and a dress from an Etsy seller that I've vetted quite heavily and have been speaking to for several months about a dress I loved from her site (the Djons Dress).

Advantages of the Elisabetta dress:
-From a reputable seller here in my town
-I've tried this dress on
-Has everything I wanted in a dress (minus being pink)
-Smart & practical thing to do
-Alterations done in-store

Disadvantages to the Elisabetta dress:
-It's not pink
-It's like 3 times the price of the other dress
-FI has not seen it (both good and bad)

Advantages to the Djons dress:
-I fell in love with the pic immediately (and so did FI)
-Way better price point
-It's got pink in it!
-Would be totally unique (no one would have this dress anywhere!)

Disadvantages of the Djons dress:
-Coming from a foreign country
-Could be a scam (unlikely, but you never know)
-Never even seen it in person or tried it on
-Would have to find a shop to do alterations

My heart is pulled to the Djons dress but the practical side of me says don't take the risk, go with something reliable for such an important day.
So as the time ticks down. I am starting to panic. I have my dress already. But I have lost over 50lbs since i bought. Which guarantees it will not fit. However David's Bridal will do a size exchange 1 time for free so that is not a concern. But I know that it will need a hem a bustle and probably some adjustment in the bust area.
Because i have heard so many horror stories about Davids alterations. I am really freaking out trying to find someone else to do these things to my dress. I am apprehensive about an outside seamstress because this is my WEDDING DRESS! They mess it up I am screwed.

I have attached a picture of me in the dress. Keep in mind that was when i was 50lbs heavier. Its so beautiful and has lots of lacy detail. This is stressing me out big time.

All the things for the wedding this is what weighs very heavily on my mind night and day for like the last 2 wks.

I am just wondering if anyone here wore the Lacey Marie by Maggie Setters, or a similar fit and flare mermaid style what you did for undergarments? I am thinking I am going to buy a few different styles of shapeless to try on with the dress, I am wondering if there were any brands you all preferred over others? My wedding is in less then four weeks and my dress is still not in so I am slightly freaking out about it all.

anyone bought/sold a preowned dress? I have an un-altered/in-worn beautiful dress I bought for my wedding to my ex. We called off the wedding before and alterations were made and it's been hanging in a closet for 3 years. Seems like a shame for such a pretty dress to go un-used, but I'm not sure I want to wear it in my wedding to my fiancé...It was a horrible breakup and I kind of want a fresh start.

Thoughts? I wouldn't be looking to recoup full price, but would like to get something for it. Also considering whether to buy used this time, after the last dress went un-worn and we lost most of what my family spent on the first wedding, I'm hesitant to spend that kind of money again this time around.

I have never posted in any sort of discussion before so I have no idea if this will help me in any way. But I figured maybe someone would have a suggestion on here that I haven't thought of.
I purchased a dress of my upcoming wedding over 8 months ago. It was not at all what I had envisioned myself in as I wanted something more A-line that I could move in but ended up falling in love with a keyhole back lace dress that is a mermaid style, much tighter than I had thought but the sample made my body look amazing and I loved how I felt in it.
I am not having that same feeling in the dress now that it has come in. I have had three fittings and I keep hoping it will change and its not. The wedding is less than a month away. The way the dress fits there is a crease/it pulls over my stomach and makes it really noticeable. I like my body. I have curves and I wanted to show them off. But it seems like this is pointing to an unflattering place and I can't get rid of it. I tried to look for shape wear but the key hole back is very low. My concern is as simple and as petty as this; I want to love my wedding dress. I do not want to feel self conscious all day long. I do not want to starve myself for the next three weeks. I don't want every photo of me to be of my with my hand covering the area I don't like. I don't know if the problem can be corrected (the seamstress is going to try to relax the lace) or if this is just the way a dress that is this form fitting will fit and I have to learn to love it. I hate the idea that I'm going to put the dress on on my wedding day and feel uncomfortable and unhappy with my body.
Does anyone have any ideas for shapewear that might work? Or a suggestion for alterations that I haven't thought of? I know that I probably like the sample more because it had stretch and the newly ordered dress is stiffer and I can't change that. What can I change?

Hey All,

I'm looking for suggestions for hairstyles and jewelry/accessories to accompany my wedding dress. I am wearing the kate spade double bow back dress (https://www.katespade.com/products/double-bow-back-dress/NJMU5931.html) and I'd like to look polished and fancy, but not too vintage-y. My friend group keeps trying to push me towards fancier stuff, i.e. long dress, big hair, lots of jewelry, which aren't me OR our wedding.

Our wedding is at a mid to upscale restaurant (for Alaska) in June, 48 people, 4 hours, no dance floor, just "dinner with a side of wedding" as we've been explaining it to people. No wedding party. My FH and I are doing pictures before dinner together outside. Event start is 5 pm on a Saturday.

I'm thinking along the lines of a low bun, perhaps with hair pins. Longer earrings since a necklace isn't possible with the dress. Any suggestions are welcome, I'm spending lots of time on pinterest and the internet looking for ideas. Thanks in advance!

HI, I am trying to figure out the color of the vest and ties for my groom and her fellas. My MOH is wearing light lilac, and the bridesmaids are wearing a blush. Same dress, just different colors. My dress is ivory lace on top (the bridesmaids also have lace on top and bottom of the dress) and rose gold/pink like on the bottom. I attached a picture of the tux the men are wearing I just wont know if the best man should match the MOH and the rest match each other. My groom would like to stand out and not match, so that would potentially be 3 different colors. I have no idea that to do. Below is the tux and the blush dress, there is no picture of the lilac dress.

So my dad bought me a string of pearls to wear on my wedding day. He is so proud of them and excited for me to wear them. It is such a precious gift and I really hate to disappoint him, but I don't like the way they look with my dress. It totally changes my look. I would honestly rather wear no necklace at all, but I'm not sure how to tell my dad without hurting his feelings. Any suggestions?

Hi brides!

I know there are already a couple similar threads, but most are a bit older. I'm looking for some creative ideas for my "something new." I was wondering if any of you are doing / did something old, new, borrowed and blue and if you have any creative ideas!

Here's what I have so far:

Old: I'm thinking a locket with each of my grandfathers pictures

New: No idea! I want something specifically for this rather than my dress, shoes, etc. Any ideas?!

Borrowed: Perfume from one of my BMs who got married last year

Blue: Light blue garter though my shoes are blue too!

Would love you hear what you all are doing! Happy planning!

Hey there beautiful brides! I purchased my wedding dress this weekend, and love it! It's ivory, strapless, and now I am in need of support garments...

Any plus-sized gals in west FL or central FL with some shops to go to? I do NOT want to buy online. I want to deal with actual people face-to-face.

Thank you!
