I know, it' a thing I see people posting about it all the time... But I guess I thought it wouldn't happen to me, I mean we are all adults we have all been to weddings but... I guess some people do really have difficulty dressing themselves.

So my FSMIL asks... "What should I wear to your wedding." Me: "What ever you are comfortable in." Her: "Well I'm not going to wear my house dress!"

Then she says, "Hats, what about hats are we doing hats?" WTF is that even a thing? "No we are not doing hats, but feel free to wear one if you like."

SMH over here I don't even have the words.

Hi everyone!

My fiance and I are having a whimsical, colorful, casual wedding in April. I absolutely love the idea of tulle because it has that whimsical and it’s lightweight. I do NOT want to be weighed down by some heavy gown (I like to dance!). I really don’t feel comfortable spending a fortune on a gown so I’ve been looking on Etsy and preowned wedding dress sites to see if I can find something affordable yet beautiful. I’m thinking of putting together a dress, so I guess it’s a bit of a DIY project, although I will probably have a skilled seamstress do it. I found this skirt on Etsy and the top on an online boutique site. I feel that my best features are my waist and shoulders. Just some background on body shape…I am pretty curvy and I would say I’m in between pear-shaped and hourglassed shape, around 125lbs and 5’4″. Please, please, please I need some advice! Is this a good idea considering my body frame? Am I crazy for putting together a wedding dress on my own rather than buying a professinally designed gown? Thank you in advance!!

Hi everyone!

I just ordered my wedding dress this past weekend. I had been absolutely obsessing over a gown from the Wtoo Fall 2015 collection and I was able to try it on at a salon that I had to travel pretty far to get to. I love the dress- I think it's gorgeous and princess-like and after trying on dresses at two other places I realized that is the silhouette and feeling that I'm going for. The dress is blush and though it doesn't look super pink in pictures it did on the rack. Once I put it on it looked great with my skin tone (I think) and I felt beautiful. I ordered it and I'm so excited! I keep looking at pictures of myself in my dress on my phone.

However, I've been going over the decision in my mind. Everyone in my family has been so nice, all my bridesmaids say they love it, and my fiance said that he has no problem with a blush dress and he can't wait to see it. I guess I'm having pangs of concern (not really regret) that it will look strange to wear a blush dress at a winter wedding (our date is January 2), maybe it's too over the top, what will guests think.

I'm just looking for a little reassurance. Here is a link to the gown: http://www.loveblushbridal.com/wtoo-wedding-dress-audrey/

Second question: originally I wanted my bridesmaids in purple but now I'm thinking gray might be better. Will purple or gray work? Thanks so much for any input

I'm having dress issues. My dress is a silk taffeta ballgown with a short train. I wanted to hem it up a bit because it seems to be just barely touching the floor constantly but the tailor said that's how it's supposed to look. I'm not sure about that but it's really the least of my problems. The main issue is the material, specifically the wrinkles. Up until this point I've assumed I could have it steamed at the tailor, drive it to the venue, use my hand steamer to get out the last of the wrinkles from the trip, and be set. Today my tailor told me that she has been steaming it but it gets wrinkled again by the time I see it because of the garment bag. She says I have to have it professionally pressed (>$100) and that even then, putting it back in the bag would bring all the wrinkles back. Since I have to get it out of town to the venue, she recommends pressing it when I'm there (of course I'm only going to be there the day before the wedding). I asked about hand steaming it and was told that wouldn't do anything and the internet seems to be warning me about water spots on taffeta. I don't know what to do here and I'm really regretting getting this dress at all. Does anyone have any suggestions about dealing with wrinkles on taffeta for an out of town wedding?

Hello everyone! Wedding is 8-22-15 and we have decided that in lieu of suits for our guys (this is a VERY casual, simple wedding) to go with western snap shirts and dark wash jeans (not black). Problem is this: My dress is Ivory and Champagne. Our wedding colors are sage green and navy blue. Everything else has been ordered or purchased except for their shirts so I can't change colors now.

I've been scouring the internets for this style shirt in Ivory or Champagne type color for my groom and in either a light green or navy blue for his BM and my son, our RB. I can only seem to find either A) Bright white or Natural/Beige for my groom and either a darker green, royal blue, or denim for our attendants.

So, it appears that I'm stuck.. now what would you do? Which color(s) would you go with? I've included two photos below, one to show the general style of shirt and one to show the denim color.

After a while searching for 'the dress', and going shopping with a few different friends, I realised that I was trying to unify a lot of diverse opinions. I was becoming more and more confused! In the end I went dress shopping with my FMIL and bought a dress there and then. That is very unlike me as I am usually very indecisive, especially about clothes! I felt so happy in it, it's the first time I have felt genuinely relaxed and 'myself' in a wedding dress since I started looking. Its not a traditional bridal gown and I suppose it's a bit more informal than I first intended to look for. Anyway I was so excited that I had finally decided on a dress that I showed some of the friends that I had originally shopped with and the reception has been cool to say the least! A couple said they sort of 'like' maybe the back of the dress and a couple said they weren't so keen on it at all. I know it sounds like compliment fishing but I didn't intend to come across like that, these are close friends who have been really enthusiastic about dress shopping and were super keen for me to show them the dress I chose. I suppose I just feel a bit bummed out by the response as I don't have a lot of confidence about clothes and my appearance. I know there are lots of opinions (as many as there are people)! ,I'm also really kicking myself for showing them as it has made me feel less excited about the dress, even though of course it is not the most important thing. I guess I should have kept it to myself but I was really excited. Sorry for the offloading...

The groomsmen are wearing grey Vera Wang vests/pants, white shirt and mahogany tie. I plan to purchase the jewelry as part of their bridesmaid gift but have been struggling...what color/type of jewelry would be best? Silver? Pearls? Rhinestones? Thanks!

Hi all,

My dress is below - it is Marta from David Tutera for Mon Cheri.

What jewellery would you wear with this dress? I have already bought a pair of crystal studs which I liked but am obsessing a bit over whether I should go all crystal, all pearl or a mixture of both? Even a pearl necklace but keep the crystal studs I have?

The dress is a little shimmery and has a crystal belt as you can see. I am actually leaning towards no necklace, crystal studs and a pearl and crystal comb - I fancy having a side hair do with a comb.

Or do you think a drop crystal necklace like the model has below, my crystal studs and then a pearl and crystal comb? I think I am worrying/obsessing so much over everything matching. I was leaning towards pearls as I thought it was classic bride and I have a lace dress! But then didn't want to wear a all pearl necklace with crystal earrings! I may get another pair or earrings and buy everything mentioned above, try it all on with my dress and then take back what I don't like...crazy bride much??

What are you wearing on your day?

Thanks all x

Hello Knotties!

I have chosen a simple, strapless, A-line lace dress with a chapel train. My concern is that it might be too formal for the romantic, yet whimsical, wedding I had in mind (groom in somewhat informal taupe suit with wooden buttons and plaid bow tie, ring bearers in button-down shirts and khaki pants). If I keep my dress bustled, could I have other members of the bridal party dress more casually?

Think: vintage-winter-storybook.

So, the thing is -- I LOVE lace. But my wedding dress doesn't totally reflect that. Will my bridesmaids look out of place if I go with a lace bridesmaid dress? There is one I like at David's that has lace on top with a flowy bottom.

I guess my question is: How much does the bridesmaid dress need to "match" my wedding dress?
