I am a new bride and just bought my dress while it was on a trunk sale, Vita by Watters. I absolutely love it.

I have a large chest, so the lady at the store took my measurements and ordered me a size 12 to fit my bust. She told me it would be easy to take in on the straps/waist/etc. if it was too loose in other areas, but shouldn't order a too-small dress (totally agree). However, I just looked at the size chart and my waist is more aligned to a Watters size 6-8. But, bust is absolutely a 12.

I know she is probably right, but since looking at the size chart I am a little worried, and obviously a stranger to the world of wedding dress alterations. Will it be easy to take this dress in two to three sizes in the waist if needed? It is an a-line so I am sure that makes it easier, but I would love some guidance from people who have had a similar experience!

I'd rather not spend hours in a salon with a bunch of people, but apparently that's not a choice.

Regardless, I've got a support team (mom and sister) who really want to be involved with my dress shopping. Even if multiple people are allowed in the salon, they're not in my bubble...they're across the country!

How have y'all been dealing with a support team that can't physically be there? I know I can't be the only one with this problem...

I am also a professional baker and make wedding cakes / desserts. So I will be making her wedding cake. She also asked me last minute if I could do her bridal hair..
