I have a very slight farmers tan, ie my upper arms are slightly paler than my chest and forearms from walking dogs in short sleeves all summer. but no line. Getting married in 2 weeks and 2 days and was already planning to go in for a couple tanning bed sessions to refresh the little bit of color I have(don't want to look too dark). How do I make sure my chest and arms don't just continue getting darker than my upper arms? More tanning lotion on those areas? I know nothing about tanning beds! Thanks

Luckily no one has bought a dress yet so I told the other BMs to just put the dress color on hold for now, and that we'd make a decision next year (I'm not getting married until Oct 2015). Would champagne really be too similar to my dress? I'm a little disappointed because this was my "vision" including the guys wearing champagne ties with their black suits. I even wanted the girls in a lighter color so they stood out as BMs. But I definitely don't want everyone to clash either. The whole point of letting them pick their own dresses was to be easy and make everyone comfortable, so I definitely want to pick a color that everyone will love. I think the plan will be to try different BM dresses on next to my dress, but I figured I'd ask fellow knotties to see if anyone has ideas. Thank you!

I have a strapless dress (photos below) and initially planned on adding detachable lace straps or cap sleeves to it. I am self-conscious of my broad shoulders and felt like I need something to break up my neckline. I have a lace shrug I'll be wearing during the ceremony. I plan on taking off the shrug for the reception. When I met with the seamstress, we thought that lace straps detracted from the dress so now I'm thinking of just going strapless when I'm not wearing the shrug.

Should I add straps/sleeves or use a necklace? If a necklace, should it be a simple drop necklace? I don't want to do anything too elaborate as it will be too much with the shrug.

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the dress without the shrug. The final photo is with a different shrug than what I bought. But it emulates what we had been thinking of with adding lace straps/cap sleeves.

Thanks very much!

So my sister's (MOH) Bill Levkoff dress is too small, they measured her and ordered a size 0 (?!?!) and she probably should have gotten the 2 or 4. Wedding is in 5 weeks. The owner of the salon is insisting it will be fine, it zips up by my MOH can barely breathe. The seamstress says she can let it out but when I saw it yesterday at the 2nd fitting, it still doesn't fit! I'm starting to panic. Has anyone else dealt with a situation like this? I know its easier to take in than let out. Should I insist on them rush ordering a larger size? I'm not aggressive by nature to get nasty with the store but they keep putting me off and my stomach is in knots. I want her to look and feel comfortable.

This is a very weird question but one I'm a little perplexed about.

I will pick up my dress from the seamstress about a week prior to the wedding. It will be pressed and ready to wear. Its chiffon with a sweep train... (Nothing too dramatic). My question is.... Where do I hang it in my house before the wedding? None of my closets have rods high enough that it won't drag on the floor and I can't hang it from a curtain rod or similar because the dog would LOVE to chew on it, I'm sure. Does anyone have any advise? Maybe it won't wrinkle by sitting in the floor for a couple of days but I don't know.... And I don't want FI to see it (we live together). HELP!!

Hello!

This dress is not cursed, it was not used in a failed marriage, I say that just for those people who are afraid to wear a used dress for those reasons...I'll
give you the cliff notes so that you can feel certain that you would
not be wearing a dress that is bad luck. you can skip the story if you
don't care

I purchased the dress soon after getting engaged with my boyfriend of 7
years. Then before our wedding date came, I had to have a hysterectomy
that would leave me still recovering at the time of our planned wedding
so we postponed until the next fall. Now our wedding was supposed to be
in October, but my father has been very ill (was on life support 2
separate occasions in the past 3 months) and I am his caretaker. Him
being in the hospital so long and all of the stuff we went through kinda
wiped out our wedding funds... We decided to still get married in a
small ceremony in our back yard so that it's something my dad can be a
part of that will not leave him exhausted or ending up in the hospital.
Anyway, the dress is lovely, just too fancy to wear for a backyard,
tiny get together.

The dress info:

This beautiful cream colored wedding dress is perfect for a size 14-16
woman, but could probably fit someone a size bigger or smaller because
it laces up the back. The official size is 20 but I'm a 16 in normal
dresses. It was purchased at the Circle Park Bridal Boutique in Addison
for $700 on a clearance because one of the loops was popped in the back
(which a tailor would be able to fix in no time) All it needs is that
loop fixed and to be steamed to get the wrinkles out from being in the
coverall dress bag for so long.

Price/Purchase:

I paid $700, and I wouldn't expect to get the same amount that I paid
for it but it has never been worn other than being tried on, and I would
like to make some of my money back. I live in Dallas, TX, and if you are in the same area, we could meet for you to try it on, if not I'm afraid we would have to make a deal and then I would ship it.

Hey ladies, I was looking for some advice on undergarments for under my wedding dress. I'm rather large chested - a 38G to be exact. I originally bought a bustier that fit very well, but when I tried it on under my dress, it came up to high and you could see the edges of it. My wedding dress has some beaded thick straps, so I could actually wear a bra underneath as long as it has clear straps...however it has to be a low bra so it wont show. I'm having a heck of a time finding anything like that. Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated.

Hi ! Has anyone had any experience with Spanx Boostie-Yay Camisole? My problem area is my belly and chest. I am losing weight and do not really fear not fitting into my dress but I do want a "clean tight" look. I was looking on their website and was about to drop the whopping $98 on the boostie yay, but then I noticed that 2 of the 3 pictures of the item looked different than the 1st. 1 looked like a thicker boned satin bustier, the other 2 pics on the same item looked much thinner material similar to the "spanx" type items that target sells. Obviously the 1st one looked like it would hold all the goodies in the right places where the other 2 look like they wouldn't so much..... I asked a question to customer service over a week ago and haven't heard back..... Im so confused by the images on the same item being SO different......

My fiance's friend got married recently, and he was looking through photos of it on Facebook. He was pointing out how he didn't like the wife's makeup / how she looked, and showed me some of the pictures. Well, she was wearing the same dress I bought! I said "I don't know about her makeup, but I like her dress." He said he doesn't care for that either. OUCH!

Obviously I love my dress and with less than 8 weeks to go, I can't exactly change it (assuming it ever arrives..but that's another story). How do I get over the fact that he doesn't seem to like it?

I recently tried on this Essense of Australia dress (D1662) at a bridal shop. I really liked it, but it's a little bit more money than I was hoping to spend. Does anybody know of some styles or designers that are similar? I've been trying to look, but I don't really know a lot of designers or which places are out of my desired price range. I'd really like to get my gown for $1000 or less. Acknowledging that will be hard because I really like the lace look which often drives up the price. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I previously bought a pair of flats from David's Bridal (picture below) and had them died ivory to match my dress...long story short, I ended up getting them to accept a return on them.

So now I am looking for replacement shoes, but I'm not having much luck. Unfortunately, I'm super picky, and everything I'm seeing is either too casual, or it looks like it would be very uncomfortable (stiff, plastic-y)! I've browsed at most department store sites and the common sites people recommend (DSW, 6pm) but nothing has stood out to me as being quite right.

So, does anyone have any specific recommendations for flats or dressy sandals?

Either ivory or hot pink (or dyable)

Little to no silver "bling" because my dress is more pearl-oriented (picture below)

I would really prefer not to spend over $50 on them.

1 inch heel or lower
