Groomsmen vests?

Does anyone know if places such as Men's Wearhouse rents JUST the vests? (and if so approx how much ?) We're having a somewhat casual wedding ambiance and the guys like the look of nice dark denim jeans, button ups and vests. We're having a hard time locating vests to purchase in the color scheme/size right now, granted it's JULY so not exactly in season.. (wedding is October) The issue with in store suit vests seem to be they're all "slim fit". While our guys aren't big and tall sizes are anything out of the ordinary, slim fit isn't cutting it.

Has anyone gone to the LA Garment District for their dress or for bridesmaids dresses? Is there places to try one dresses, or do you just go and buy hoping it fits? I'm second time bride, so I'm not looking for anything terribly fancy, just something simple and beautiful.

Ball gown tips needed

I've never worn a huge ball gown before. Any tips on what to do or not do? I don't want me or others to trip over it. I worry about dancing too.

So far its in the middle of alterations so I haven't had time to practice doing anything in it yet.

Help! Will this dress be able to be taken in?

I ordered a dress for my wedding reception, from a Watters Trunk show

I had tried on a size 2 (the sample size) although it was too tight.. it zippered up fine. Obviously I plan on losing some weight before the wedding as well... but we ordered a size 6 because that is what my hips were measured. I am worried the dress will need too many alterations and how those alterations will be done because of the lace detailing on the sides and the low back.

Can some of you either comfort me in ordering up the size, where as I really think a size 4 would have fit better (I want it tight). Do you think they will be able to take it in even with all the detailing?

Groomsmen Mismatched Attire

Ivory & White Dilemma

I bought a lace wedding dress that is ivory lace with a champagne color underneath. Last night while talking to my finace he informed me that he really wants to wear white. Not ivory, but white. Has anyone seen an ivory dress with a white tuxedo before? Does it / can it ever work well? Thank you.

Don't go to David's Bridal in Metairie, LA

I want to make sure everyone knows the following pertains to the David’s Bridal in Metairie, LA only.
I went online and scheduled an appointment to try on wedding dresses. I had printed out a copy of the ones I liked online. When my mom and I got there we told the receptionist we had an appointment and she had me fill out a form with my information on it (which I had already filled out to make the appointment) I gave her my print out of the dresses I liked. She suggested that I get a mermaid style dress because I it would hide my stomach from having kids. NEWS FLASH!!! I don’t have any kids. I may not be a stick figure model but I am by no means overweight and even if I was, why would any sales person tell you this?!!!
She then gave us a booklet of dresses and told us to go look. She didn’t bother telling us if someone would be there soon to help us or explain how the dresses were arranged. At this point I was very confused. What was the point of making an appointment if they don’t help you find dresses? After about 20 minutes of walking around trying to find stuff that I liked a salesperson came up to me and said she was the person assigned to my appointment. I told her what kind of dress I wanted (one with not a lot of frills) and she told me they don’t carry many like that. I gave her my list of dresses I liked anyway and she said she would pull a few for me. Well another 15 minutes goes by and she is nowhere to be found so my mom and I just started pulling dresses on our own.
The saleswoman reappeared finally and gave us a dressing room and said she would be back in a bit to help me try them on. Well as you can guess she didn’t show back up. My mom helped me try them on and go pick different ones. We also tried getting other sales people to help us and they basically ignored us.
We were finally so fed up that we decided to leave but needed to find our sales woman first because she had my papers with the dresses I liked with her. When we found her she tried to say that we were not her appointment and pawn us off on another sales woman. The new sales lady asked for the appointment sheet but it had suddenly disappeared. After talking with the manager we found out that the original sales woman lied. She was in charge of our appointment.
I think that anyone going to the Metairie David’s Bridal should be aware that the sales people are very sketchy, rude and not helpful at all. I had planned on buying my wedding dress from them, bridesmaid dresses, and flower-girl dresses but not anymore!

Help Needed - Help Me Locate This Dress

I found my dream dress. It is absolutely perfect and I've tried on similar styles and know this is a good fit for my body. I only have a picture of the dream dress. I can't find any information on it anywhere. I even tried the reverse image search with no results. Please help, I'm hoping someone has seen this dress before and can help me find it.

I know I have yet to get any alterations done, but the dress is a horrible fit right now and I'm worried that even alterations can't make it fit me correctly. It fits fine in the waist and hips but I'm such a small bust and the strapless bust of the dress looks like it's meant for a DD or something! (even though the rest of the dress is not a large size) Now I'm worried that I stupidly chose a style of dress that was just unflattering to my body type. Due to the construction of the dress I was trying to figure out how the seamstress will actually be able to take in the bust and I can't comprehend how, but what do I know about tailoring... The other thing that's making me worried is that the zipper sticks, even though the dress isn't too tight, and I really have to yank hard to get it to zip up. I worry that because of this there's a risk the zipper could break off on the day of my wedding. Ah! Am I freaking out for no reason?

Pink gown blending with theme?

I have fallen in love with a beautiful blush gown. The problem is we are having a peacock inspired wedding, and I'm afraid the blush gown wont blend with the color scheme. Has anyone seen blush incorporated with this color palet? Do y'all feel like it would clash too much?

Bill Levkoff Bridesmaid Dresses - run too big or too small?

Happy 4th, all!

I have chosen a Bill Levkoff bridesmaid dress (orders have not been placed, just decided what I wanted). I happened to search for a BL size chart and came upon some horror stories on how the dresses fit. I have BM who is a bigger girl, and has large boobs. I am nervous that even the largest size (28) may not fit. Does anyone have any experience with his dresses? What I saw online says that either the store makes you order a really large size and they are super big (lots of $$$ for alterations), or too small and then you have trouble fitting it. I just don't want to make the wrong decision and end up costing my girls tons of money in alterations. I really didn't expect to find it so quickly.... I only tried 4 dresses on and it was my first appointment. By the 4th one I wasn't even paying attention, I fell in love with the 2nd one. It's Pronovias "Basico". I absolutly love it..! It 's exactly what I always wanted...

Also I got lucky, the sample was my size and had arrived only a couple of days before (Pre-Collection 2015), I was the only one who had tried it on, most of the consultants hadn't even seen it outside the garment bag, so instead of ordering, I bought the sample, I saved about $700, so I'm pretty happy about that too..:)

Here's a pic of me in my dress and the actual veil I'll be wearing, I hadn't decided on the headband though.... Thoughts?
Also a pic of the back of the dress.. (not me obviously, but it's so pretty..!!!)

I'm still jumping up and down a bit..!

Help please! I love these two dresses and I can't decide which one!! They're the same shape, but have different details... love the fit of both and feel amazing in both. The wedding is a summer wedding and will be at a golf course.

Dress 1 (Tara Keely 2400) : Ivory Venise lace elongated bodice, sweetheart neckline with scallop detail, tiered tulle skirt with horsehair trim, chapel train.

Dress 2 (Pronovias Ledurne): Draped tulle wedding dress with strapless neckline created with feathers. Mermaid skirt with tulle and nylon frills. (I would add a jewelled belt with this one)

I know it's hard to decide without a picture of me in the dresses... however, neither salon would allow pictures (and there wasn't any opportunity to sneak pictures in!). I have a similar shape to the model in the first photo - just Slightly curvier - if that helps at all!

Which do you like best?

Buying a dress too early?

I am getting married in November 2015 (about a year and 5 months away). I have been looking around at dressing online and there are a few that I can't get out of my mind. I know my wedding is a long time away but how early is too early to start trying dresses on? I don't want the stores to no longer carry the ones I am interested in right now. I'm getting really anxious! I do realize that if I were to go now and purchase a dress it would be sitting at the salon for over a year. Any advice? Should I REALLY wait until at max 12 months out?? I'm just so excited!

Can I add a sash to this dress?

Hey all I am having a heck of a time trying to find shoes for my wedding in November. Everything I have seen so far either look like hooker shoes made from a disco ball or old lady white church shoes. I don't normally wear heels, so I have no idea what I like, however I know heels make you look better in your dress. If I had it my way I would wear uggs, but I am willing to try heels for my mother.

So I want to know what do your shoes look like? Help I need some inspiration!!!

So, as I stated in my last post I went shopping for the first time today. I went to the boutique with the mindset that I was just going to see what they offered but not make any final decisions. I thought I needed to shop at more than one location before I chose my dress. We pulled somewhere between 10-15 gowns, the first one I tried on was one of my favorites from my magazine cut outs. I loved it but I kept on trying on multiple other dresses. Every other one that I tried on had something I wasn't crazy about and I found myself comparing all of them to that first dress. Even though I wanted to check multiple stores there was no way I could leave my gown behind. I'm absolutely in love with it, every part of it. I literally couldn't find one thing I didn't love and I didn't want to take it off!! Soooo we ordered it and even found the veil to go with it! I'm so excited I CANT WAIT for it to come in so I can put it on again!!! I know my FI is gonna be blown away, I want to fast forward to my wedding now.

I was looking at the alvina valenta bridesmaid dresses on here, and most have "$$" for the price rance, which when you hover over it says $601-1500. For the second option that seems pretty high to me, and when i googled them a couple places say she ranges between $150 and $300. Anyone know how accurate the pricing is on here?
