I am looking for a delicious and experience food caterer (even if it's something out of the ordinary like a divine pizzeria) that can serve 150 guests with no kitchen.

I've read a few other threads that mention Hannibal's or Asante's ( but check out their 'filtered' reviews on yelp- YIKES!)

Just looking for PERSONAL recommendations and why.

Thanks!

When my parents got married, Mom wore a lace Juliet cap with a fingertip veil and a blusher. Fast-forward to this year, when both my sister and I are getting married; while we both love her veil and want to use it somehow, it doesn't really suit either of our styles. We ended up separating it (with Mom's wholehearted permission, of course) - C's using the fingertip portion attached to a comb tucked into her updo, and I get to keep the cap and the blusher.

The cap itself is an old wire frame, covered with the mesh and lace. I'm considering taking it apart further and putting the lace onto a headband, and then attaching the blusher somehow in a birdcage/fascinator style, which I will then remove for the reception and wear only the headband portion.

I've been searching for ideas, but they're all starting to run together now. Does anyone have any advice on:

1) styles to wear a reformed Juliet cap and blusher veil

2) gentle ways to attach 30 year old tulle

FYI - I have short hair that is usually spiked, and often has streaks of purple or red.

Thanks!

Help, ladies! I am 5'6" and a size 4/6. My strapless fit-and-flare dress has a built-in corset that shapes my waist, and the corset ends just below my belly button. It's tight, so it presses into my lower belly and gives me a noticeable pooch.

What kind of undergarment will smooth this over, WITHOUT making my butt smaller/flatter? My behind barely works with this dress, any flatter and I would look ridiculous. And yes, I do what feels like hundreds of squats each week. That's the only reason I can barely fill out the dress. I've tried Spanx, and they work for the belly, but turn my rear into a pancake.

Ideas? Anyone else had this issue?

ETA because typing on my mobile = dumb autocorrect.

It took forever for me to find the right thing to wear in my hair, especially when I figured out a veil wasn't for me, so now I want to pack it away for safe keeping. My dress is at the cleaners and to be preserved but all they wanted to do when I asked about the headband was leave it in the crappy old gift box I had been trucking it around in, and put it in the box with my to-be newly cleaned and nicely packed dress so that just wasn't going to happen.

I bought a box from Michaels that I thought would be perfect but it's too short - the embellished part that doesn't fold over easily is around 13 maybe 14 inches to be safe long.

Does anyone have any ideas? Or suggestions for where I might look or what you might have found?

Thanks!

I've decided to do my own makeup for my wedding because I can't justify spending nearly $100 to have someone do it for me. I've always been good with eye makeup so I'm not concerned with that. However, I have never been able to find a foundation that doesn't make me eventually look like I have paint caked onto my face. Does anyone have any suggestions of a foundation that will go on flawlessly and photograph well? I have decent skin so I don't need a ton of coverage. Thanks for any help!!

I am a BM in a wedding coming up in September. My friend has only told us that she wants us in mint dresses. The ones I have found and showed her aren't the right color. I would love it if you ladies had any suggestions. I would like to spend less than $100 (before any alterations). The dress also does not have to be a typical BM dress. It could be a sundress or shift dress, wedding is at a barn.

***Note to lurkers; you may think you're being kind by giving your BMs this much free reign but I will be honest and say that the other BMs and myself would have rather had more direction and her just tell us what to wear.

ETF spelling

In my picture, I am barefoot and pretty close to the edge of the step, plus everything will be up a half inch or so once the straps are shortened. So, there's not much train, but some.

How do I bustle this? DB says I won't need it. While no dancing at reception, I have full intentions to go run around bars after, so really don't think I can get away without a bustle. MIL and step mom will be the ones helping to get it up. I don't think a single point will be secure enough for running around after.

I almost never wear dresses as I work in an extremely casual office. On the odd occasion that I do wear a dress, I never wear pantyhose. That said, I'm getting married in Las Vegas this December and don't know if pantyhose are currently in or out of fashion. I also hesitate as I have had a few major surgeries to my stomach and cannot tolerate anything tight against it. I don't know that I could take wearing pantyhose, but don't want to look déclassé at my own wedding. Any advice would be greatly accepted!! Thank you.

She had gotten her dates mixed up. She offered to stay but said she needed to make about $150 more because she was going to have to miss half her vacation. I refused to pay extra because it w as not my fault she mixed the dates up and therefore I thought it was totally unfair for her to leave me in this position. My wedding is in 2 weeks. Anyone know a make up artist in the studio city or Pasadena area or one that us willing to travel to Pasadena to do my make up (bride) preferably airbrush and 4 bridesmaids as well as my mom? The wedding is on fri 7/11/14 and I would love to be able to do a trial ASAP. Thank you everyone!!!

I bought my dress from davids bridal however I'm not taking my dress there for alterations I'm taking my dress to a local lady that everyone else goes to and rants and raves about and doesn't charge an arm and a leg.

Anyways, I know that I'll need to hem the very bottom layer, the top fits absolutely perfect and if at all possible I'm trying to avoid messing and changing the dress as much as I can and keep the look of the dress that I fell in love with.

Can you give me ideas, can I get by with just heming the bottom few layers?

I've stated before in previous posts that accessorizing is (unfortunately) not my greatest strength. I received my wedding dress a couple of weeks ago and really need to take it in for the official fitting and alterations consultation (I am only 5'2", so it will definitely need to be hemmed) however, I've yet to pick out my shoes and really have no idea where I want to go with that. I would very much welcome thoughts and suggestions from those of you that are more stylish than I!

For reference: The wedding ceremony will take place outdoors with the reception being held inside a heated barn. Our date October 25th and we live in Indiana, so it will likely be chilly. My bridesmaids have all opted to go with brown western style boots with their (also brown) dresses. We're very much playing on fall color scheme -- a lot of neutral tones (brown, ivory, etc.) with accent colors of red, orange, and yellow.

I don't have any great pics of my in the dress, so the store listing can be found here: http://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Cap-Sleeve-Lace-Over-Satin-Gown-with-Illusion-Back-9T3299?cm_vc=HPTVZ1

My bridesmaids are wearing db emerald satin dresses, the wedding is slightly more formal. Anyway, we went to mens warehouse and i was stunned to hear that they dont have any emerald ties- they dont even have ties with emerald in them. They recommended silver but i have two guys standing on my side with 6 girls, and my fiance has one girl standing with 7 boys. It will not work to have guys in silver. So i'm in search of emerald ties. I saw one option on etsy but id love bow ties, and id prefer to be able to actually look at the dang thing to make sure. Any idea where i should start this search? Anyone had any luck trying to find emerald matches?
