Veil with hair piece?

I will be wearing a veil for my ceremony but taking it off after pictures and before the reception. My question is would it look funny if I had my hair half up with a hair piece at the back and have a veil on??

I've seen pictures of brides with their hair all the way up with a hair piece and veil and it looked nice, I just can't picture what it would be like with it half up.

I was wondering if anyone in the Dallas/Fort Worth area knew of anywhere that carried Nicole Miller bridal gowns (other than Nordstrom). I am looking for a particular gown (Lauren Bridal Gown), but Nordstrom doesn't special order/request from the manufacturer, and no other Nordstrom in Texas carries this dress. I figured that someone knew of a bridal boutique/store that could help me out. I appreciate any input!

I'm looking for suggestions for online companies that specialize in reproducing Victorian apparel and accessories (male and female) as the bride, groom and bridal party are going to be dressed in Victorian garb (hopefully, if we can afford it!). We're gearing for the 1870's - 1880's. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I went to the Demetrios Cosmabella trunk show this past weekend and those gowns will be in stores in October. You were able to purchase them this weekend for 15% off but you had to pay in full. So when do the new style dresses come out for the designers? I'm in love with one or two dresses right now, but don't want to make a purchase quite yet. My renewal isn't until June 14th of next year. Trying to decide if I should hold out until a certain month to see if new gowns hit the floor.

Groom giving bride a hard time about Tuxedo

I have done all the planning for our wedding, not by choice but because when I have included him he has told me to make the decisions myself so I have. I have been planning all the details for our wedding for the last year and half. 3 months till our wedding he decides he wants to wear a blue suit which does not match our wedding. What do I do? I feel like I'm going to go crazy. I'm disappointed and I feel like all this planning was for nothing. I feel like its a slap in the face.

I need help with finiding an outfit for my best friend, who will be filling the "maid of honor" position. He has said he'll wear anything I put him in, but I know he would be uncomfortable in a dress. But I don't want him in a tux to match the groomsmen or best man, I want him to match "my" side.

this is the dress the 2 bridesmaids are in. I was thinking finding similar material and having it made into a vest and tie for his tux? Or would that look....weird. The material is a little loud....

Hi I'm fairly new on here. Our wedding is next October 2015, in the beginning of planning. Nailed down a vendor (if weather cooperates) ceremony outdoors, reception indoors at a historical estate (built in early 1800's). I think muted colors will go best with the vintage look of the venue. I also like the romantic look it gives off and just goes with the venue, and will go with the season. When I say "muted" I am thinking gold, beige, ivories, with a hint of soft blue. SO, what colors would work best for MOH/bridesmaids dresses? We are going dress shopping at the end of this summer, but I need to come up with colors for them. I told them all they can pick whatever dress style they feel comfortable in as long as it is within my color scheme. Maybe once we actually go into a bridal shop this will come to me easier? Any ideas on here? I want my girls to pop in the pictures so I am worried about beige colored dresses. Maybe have muted colors and have them wear a deeper shade in one of the muted colors I choose? I am so confused.

Sequin Bridesmaid Dresses

I'm having a Great Gatsby wedding, and I love the look of a floor length sequin gown for my bridesmaids, but the only place I see that sells them is Rent the Runway. I'd sort of prefer that my bridesmaids can get them before the wedding to alter them if needed.

Anyone knows who sells them? I see them on Pinterest, but they never link to a designer!

I ordered my dress in the middle of November and it still hasn't come in yet! After 7 months of waiting I am starting to go a little crazy. I was told to expect a phone call in June and now that it's so close I can't help but get stressed about it. I'm worried that the dress will come in the wrong size, or that I will try it on and it won't look the way I remember it. I'm worried that the alterations or dry cleaning are going to end up ruining the dress (as every tailor or dry cleaner I've ever taken any clothing to has). Or what if I try it on and after 7-8 months my tastes have changed and I just plain hate it?

I fell in love with 2 Alvina Valenta dresses that are similar but the only place in the state that has them dont have them in my size to try on. The bridal store said to try on dresses that have a fit like the ones I like and if I like the way it looks they will order the dress special for me. But what happens if I do that and I dont end up liking the way it looks on me? I wont be able to just return it right? Im lost and need help!!!!

We are having a vintage theme wedding and my fiance is wearing a gray 3 piece suit. All of my bridesmaids are wearing different colored dresses in neutrals. We are needing help figuring out what to have the groomsmen wear that wont be so expensive. Suits can cost a few hundred dollars. We don't care about everyone wearing the same exact thing. Does anyone have any advice for us?

Flower girl dress color

I'm starting my daughter's flower girl dress this weekend. I have the pattern in mind but I'm hung up on the color. It will be a bateau neck bodice with an lowish (she's 5 so not too low) back and a tule skirt. I'm wearing ivory, groom/ groom's men/ ring bearer gray and bride's maids navy. I'm not sure I want her to wear ivory too. Though I dont mind her matching me (she looks just like a little me anyway) child mini brides weird me out. So I'm leaning towards navy since her brother is wearing gray like the guys. She will be more like a little bridesmaid. Or two tone ivory and navy? Any thoughts? I'm probably over thinking this.

Bridesmaids colors with blush wedding gown?

Help please! I unexpectedly fell in love with a pale blush wedding gown and now am having such a rough time figuring out BM colors and florals! Right now I'm leaning toward blush bridesmaids dresses to bring out the hue of my gown, but I'm afraid the pale colors will limit my floral options. The groomsmen are wearing charcoal grey suits, but I think dove grey bridesmaids might be way too much grey? (8 bridesmaids / groomsmen!) I had my heart set on brighter pink peonies, blue hydrangeas and cream roses for florals, but any blue color swatches we hold against my gown just look wrong.

Thoughts? The wedding will be an outdoor ceremony followed by an indoor barn reception decorated with ivory draping, candles, lights and lots of greenery and flowers. (No twine / burlap even though it's a barn!)

I've seen mixed reviews about dhgate.com and aliexpress.com so I'm skeptical. It seems like some people found the wedding dress of their dreams through them. Some people got ripped off. Anyone know of any good discount dress sites? I'm looking for a long sleeve lace wedding dress...so hard to find! David's bridal had nothing to offer.

My engagement ring is a beautiful 1 ct solitaire ring in a cathedral setting. FI is very happy with his choice and believes that a band or jacket would take away from it's beauty. We did go try some on to see and I agree with him. I did find one that matched perfectly and that I liked, but he didn't like it. I do not have much of an opinion on it, I don't really mind either way. Money is not a factor in this and I really don't care what people think, I'm sure they will think we are broke or something stupid like that. And part of me does want more bling! I just wanted to know what your guys' thoughts were on this! Have any of you just kept your engagement ring and got nothing else? Do you think I'll regret it?

Hi Knotties! Last year, I bought the most beautiful wedding dress I've ever seen, with the intention to wear it on my own wedding day. My fiance and I have decided to downsize our wedding. Subsequently, I have a gorgeous Marisa 898 up for sale. I bought it from the original owner, so you'll be the third owner but only the second bride to wear it on her big day.

It's a label size 8 that was altered to fit the original bride; her measurements are 5'6/120 lbs and 34-26-26. I also fit into the dress at 5'4/118 lbs and 32-23-37.5. The original bride added (removable) cups to the bust and altered the hemline to follow the lace pattern.

Stored in a smoke free home. Reply or pm me for more details!

Hi! My wedding is in 3 weeks. My dress is a VERY fitted silhouette. My fiancé and I learned a rumba and a swing dance for the reception. When I took my dress into the fitting it was VERY tight on my ribs. She said it has to be sinse its strapless. I guess i'd just like to see if I can lose an inch to get some more mobility. Even if I had more time, I'm already underweight and I'd feel more comfortable with a temporary solution. Would body wraps be an option? Do those work? Any other suggestions? Right now I can sit in it, but it's not comfortable to at all. I want to be able to move, but I also want the dress to be fitted. Is it possible to have both?

I have a friend who keeps asking me to see pictures of my dress. She came to my bachelorette party, etc so we are pretty good friends. I personally feel the dress is supposed to be a surprise to all guests the day of the wedding. I don't have pictures of my dress because I don't want my fiance to accidentally see it and it came from a boutique so it isn't on a website where I could say something like "go to Davids and find dress F-108" so she could see it without it being on me. I keep blowing it off telling her I don't have pictures but she keeps asking. One of my bridesmaids does have pictures from the day I picked it and the girl knows that. Is it me or isn't it rude to ask a bride to see pictures of her dress before the wedding? Or am I being rude by not wanting to show her?
