I will go over this draft as its not final and maybe move things around but as of right now this is all I have in my head that I want to say.

Is this too long?

. Walter, as I stand here on this stage before you and our friends and family I come to you today not as a young, romantic girl, but as a woman of middle age. My love for you does not make me giddy or silly, rather it brings me deep comfort, as does knowing how much you love me. When we met it was a day that was not quite planned, but turned out to be one of the best unplanned dates ever, so of course I said yes to a second date for the very next day. Who would have known that I had just met the man I would fall so deeply in love with and my best friend. Since that day you have brought such happiness to my life that I never even knew I was missing. Though we have been through our ups and downs getting to know each other and learning to accept each other for all our faults I do know one thing for sure and this is, if I had to do it all over again in order to be standing here with you today I would do it over 100 times as I know standing here with you today is the best decision I have ever made in my life. And I am so happy that you asked me to share your life with you. Our love made us redefine what we knew before we became us. It is so clear to me now that what we have is love in it's purest form and somehow I've been given the gift of knowing that in my lifetime. And I truly want to thank you for giving me that special gift. You have been the most loving, kind, patient man I have ever met. I can't imagine a better match for me, nor could I have dreamed one up. You see me and love me for who I am. You encourage me, and hold my hand when I need it. You have made me stronger and more open than I have ever been. You are everything I could ever ask for and more. I know that without a doubt, you are what I have been waiting for and now that we are together, I feel complete. I'm where I want to be. I'm living in the moment with you. I promise to strive to be for you what you are to me for the rest of our days. I am overjoyed to be your wife. I I'm so happy we've become each other's rock in life. I promise to always take care of you and to make you feel special. I promise to be there to lift your spirits in time of doubt. I promise to be the one to always tell you the truth. I vow to be the best and strongest woman for you. From this day forward, we're in it together, forever. You are the man of my dreams, Walter. I love you more than anything. I can not promise you that there wont be some more ups and downs as we continue to grow, but I will promise to always be by your side from this day forward no matter what life throws at us as I can not imagine now what life would be like without you and our now larger family. So, today, I stand before you vowing to love and respect you as my partner, confidant, and best friend until the end of my days. As I place this ring on your finger, wear it, think of me, and know that I love you.

I would be standing in some place, wearing some dress, and marrying some guy. I never imagined I would be standing on this stage, wearing this dress, and marrying someone who is not only my soulmate, but my best friend.
I knew you were the one when my reality became better than my dreams. You are my life. You are my world. You are my everything. I love you more and more with each passing day and I know that as we grow so will our love. I stand her today giving you my heart, my soul, and myself.
I promise that I will honor you and cherrish you and I will spend the rest of my life making you feel as happy as you have made me feel since day one. I love you."

Hey guys,

I am trying to figure out my ceremony music and I need some help. I want to incorporate our love of music into the song choices but I am clueless on which songs to chose. I am a huge phish fan as well as lots of other good tunes. Just wanted to see if there were others out there that can relate and what you are chosing as ceremony music. We are having a classical guitar player but he has said we can request songs if we wanted.

Thanks in advance !!!!!!!!!

I bought an aisle runner because I feel like I do need to create a "pathway" but should I make something to go on the sides of the chairs? Something to line the sides of the pathway instead? Argh.
I don't think I need to do a whole lot because the church is already so nice, but I want something in there. What do y'all think?

So my fiance is wanting to go down to an Irish song, which at first I was like okay because we are Scottish and Irish and most my ceremony songs are traditional Irish songs. However, I didn't know he meant Flogging Molly! Oh dear I already said yes without asking what song or band. This is all he has asked for. I listened to the song and its not cussing, but its still Irish punk rock... Think I am going to have to axe this!

I don't want it to be on just a normal table, so I'm looking for a cute suggestion for what to serve it on. Also should it be in a big drink dispenser or have someone serving it? And then there is the cups, how do I supply a trash can without it looking tacky??

We're having my fiance's uncle marry us, so I wrote this up for him to read. I'm quite proud of it, but IDK how ceremonies typically go, so I just want to make sure it makes sense.

Ladies and gentlemen, family and friends, we are gathered here today to witness and celebrate the joining of Woman and Manin marriage. With love and commitment, they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife. Man and Woman - Today you enter as individuals, but you will leave here as husband and wife, blending your lives, expanding your family ties, and embarking upon the grandest adventure of human interaction. The story of your life together is still yours to write. All those present have come to witness and celebrate your love and commitment this day - eager to be a part of the story not yet told. True marriage begins well before the wedding day, and the efforts of marriage continue well beyond the ceremony's end. A brief moment in time and the stroke of the pen are all that is required to create the legal bond of marriage, but it takes a lifetime of love, commitment, and compromise to make marriage durable and everlasting. Today you declare your commitment to each other before family and friends, your yesterdays were the path to this moment, and your journey to a future of togetherness becomes a little clearer with each new day. ___________ and ____________, remember to treat yourselves and each other with respect, and remind yourselves often of what brought you together. Take responsibility for making the other feel safe, and give the highest priority to the tenderness, gentleness and kindness that your connection deserves. When frustration, difficulty and fear assail your relationship, as they threaten all relationships at some time or another, remember to focus on what is right between you, not just the part that seems wrong. In this way, you can survive the times when clouds drift across the face of the sun in your lives, remembering that, just because you may lose sight of it for a moment, does not mean the sun has gone away. And, if each of you takes responsibility for the quality of your life together, it will be marked by abundance and delight. As God’s children by faith in Jesus Christ, the vows you are about to exchange are especially meaningful. As you are obedient to the Word of God, and allow God to control your relationship, your home will be the place of joy and testimony to the world that God intends.

Repeat after me: I, man, take you, woman ...to be my wedded wife...To have and to hold...from this day forward...for better, for worse...for richer, for poorer...in sickness or in health...to love and to cherish... ‘til death do us part...with this ring, I thee wed.

I, woman, take you, man...to be my wedded husband. My FI and I say those deep emotional thoughts to each other in private often and I just dont think I can get through making my deepest feeling public without crying. I cant say Grace at our family gatherings bc I cry. Such a weinie!!! lol

Hi Ladies,

FI and I are thinking about incorporating a Mothers Rose Ceremony into our wedding ceremony (sample in case you aren't familiar: http://www.abeautifulwedding.us/vows_rose_mothers.htm) It's short and sweet, but we both really like the message.

I have 2 questions about potential modifications:

1. Fi and I each have 1 living grandmother. Has anybody ever seen this ceremony where the grandmothers were also presented with roses? (I would obviously modify the wording some. There would be 4 ladies total: 1 mother and 1 grandmother each--neither of us have stepmothers. Even if you haven't seen this, what do you think about it? My only concern is that both of our grandmothers are our paternal grandmothers, and I don't want either of our mothers to feel like we aren't recognizing our (deceased) maternal grandmothers. Our mothers are both reasonable people, but I still want to avoid unintentionally hurting their feelings.

2. Has anybody ever seen this ceremony done where FI presents the rose to my mother and I present the rose to his mother? Sort of a "thank you for raising my soon-to-be-spouse" (except hopefully much more eloquently stated!). Even if you haven't seen this, what do you think about it?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts. We are trying to add some personalization to our ceremony, but we want to make sure the things we add are meaningful and appropriate, and not just for the sake of being different.

My FH's Grandpa passed away a couple months ago (very unexpectedly) so we are doing something special for him at the Ceremony. It was his Mom's dad and this was also kind of her idea. My FH wants to walk down the aisle with a white rose (or lily) and place it on the chair where he would have sat. I know, this is going to be sad. But, should he escort his mother down the aisle when he does this? His parents are divorced and if he doesn't escort her then I guess one of the groomsmen would ? Neither of us have any living grandparents. I'm not sure how this would all work out. I really don't want her to carry the rose down the aisle because I think that would put too much focus on her and make it even more sad. Then for my Grandma that passed away 2 years ago we will have photos somewhere at the ceremony of her along with one of his Grandpa. Should we then bring these photos into the reception area or would that be too much? I'm a little confused on the whole thing.
