I posted on the NEY Board before because I was going crazy about the upcoming proposal and I'm so glad you managed to calm me down, make me relax and just look forward to what's going to happen.

Last Sunday my BF finally proposed:) No pink pony (although I really love that pink ¨my pony¨ with the sparkling eyes), but a wonderful engagement ring

I will post pictures soon!

My BF had left notes, that I had to find, in the house. One note leading to the other. Finally the note told me to have a shower and get ready to leave and go to our favourite cake store. There I met him and we ate a wonderful small cake (I was starving and BF knew better, than to propose when my stomach is empty)

And when I thought we are going to leave, he told me to look for another note... I found it under the table and it read: Will you marry me?

I'm really happy and I can't stop staring at the ring. He just told his family and friends and they are all very happy and excited.

But now I told my first close friend and he asked me whether he should congratulate or pity me I was too shocked to say anything smart or to tell him how rude he is. Now I'm just upset and worried I might have other reactions like this.

I try to not let it bother me, but it's hard.

Hi ladies!

I feel really silly, but I've been working on my wedding website (I can't sleep, so why not?!) but I can't seem to get any pictures to upload. I'm not just talking about under the "Photo Album" page, but on ANY page. All the photos are in .jpg format and are the correct size or smaller. I'm sure this is really easy and I'm just missing something simple, but I'd really love to finish it.

My fiance proposed last night at the park where we had our first kiss 3 1/2 years ago. Although we've been "engaged" since February we didn't feel like it was official until he proposed with a ring. Well, I have to say it was totally worth the wait. He designed the ring himself and it is perfect. He went above and beyond anything I had ever thought of. I'm so excited and we are so happy.

Hi All!! I recently got engaged (2 months ago today!!) to the most amazing man and best friend ever. We are very excited but a lot of decisions lay ahead. I just graduated from law school and my FI is in the Navy. We decided to stay in DC since we really like it here and have both been here for 10yrs (instead of me taking a job 8hrs away) and I am looking for employment so we agreed we might want to wait until 2013 to have the big day for $$ reasons. BUT....now my fiance will likely get orders that will send us out of DC in Feb 2013 (and I would need to be his wife to be included in his orders!!) SO --- the decision we now face is:

1.) get married at the courthouse and have a big ceremony/vow renewal later (but that could be 4 years away if his orders send us far or over seas!)

2.) Try to plan a budget wedding

3.) other ideas??

I am very excited about getting engaged and have always wanted a nice but simple wedding and to do it once and do it right but just not sure what might be doable before february 2013!! Any ideas?? Anything is very much appreciated! Thanks guys and congrats to all of the other newly engaged!! :)

But there's no ring (since he's still paying it off), which is fine by me, but I'm worried that when we go to tell my parents, that they won't take him/our engagement seriously. I am 23 and he's 25. Birthday Surprise Proposal!

I got engaged this week and I'm SO EXCITED! I have to write the story, it's probably going to be long and rambling, sorry about that!

So Tuesday was my birthday and my bf... I mean FIANCE... and parents planned a big cookout at their house. It was such a surprise because I thought we were just going over for dinner and then a ton of friends and family were waiting out on the deck! Which was kind of weird because I was turning 26 which isn't a big birthday or anything...

Then like halfway through the night Ed suggested we go for a walk (my parents have a pretty big yard) and we ended up on the front porch swing (which is literally where as a teenager I used to sit and dream about marrying my prince charming) and he said he couldn't wait any longer to give me my birthday present and pulled out the ring and proposed!!! So then we went back to the party where my parents were waiting with champagne for everyone and it became a birthday/engagement party.

It was amazing, i mean we live together and have talked about marriage so I kiind of thought something might happen around my birthday but I had NO idea he'd get my parents involved and do it in such a big way! he's really not one for planning ahead haha so this must have been so hard... or else my mom helped a lot haha. Anyway, sorry I just wrote you guys a novel but basically this sums it up...

Best. Birthday. EVER.

Okay, not an engagement story yet, but I just can't wait to share anyway! We're completely untraditional, so it's not going to be a surprise, but I'm just so excited for the proposal to just get here!

We'd been going back and forth on whether to get engaged sooner or wait until January. We decided last night that we'd make it official in September in Italy on my birthday trip, so going to make a decision on the ring this weekend! What a better proposal than an amazing vacation!

I'm 25 but such a big kid at heart. I have been OBSESSED with Disney ever since I was old enough to see a movie. I've worked there and still have relatives that work there. My grandfather always had us stand in this one spot at the Magic Kingdom so we could see the fireworks perfectly (and it works everytime!)

On a Friday after work, my boyfriend (now fiance) Michael, came over and told me to hurry up, we were going to Disney World that night! We live in Tampa, which is an hour and a half away, so I got dressed as fast as I could and as we headed there, thunderstorms were threatening. Rain or shine, I love Disney World so it doesn't really matter to me but I could see that Michael was getting pretty nervous. When we got there it was already after 7 so we rode a couple of rides while it poured but by the time we were done, it had cleared up and a lot of the crowds had left. We waited for the fireworks and Michael insisted that we go to that spot that I go to every time I watch the fireworks there. If you've never seen MK's fireworks show Wishes it's all about making your wishes come true and it's narrated by Jiminy Cricket. At one point, Jiminy said, "Wishes can come true, if you believe in them with all your heart." Michael found that to be the perfect moment to ask quietly in my ear if I would marry him.

We had an employee take a picture after it happened to reenact it:) Although he didn't get down on one knee when it actually happened because the ground was wet lol!

My fi and I haven't been engaged a month and the planning is starting to seem like it's going to be very overwhelming. I've gotten a "it looks like we are going to have 200 guests" phone call from my mother, when my fi & I haven't even made a list yet. And A "why do u want to get married on a Friday?" question. I can go on but I'll stop here. Is this how it's going to be??? I'm ready to run away and get married. I know I know... It's our wedding and we call the shots. But the phone calls and demands are still going to come.

We went to Canada to St. Catherine's for a regatta competition for Chris' cousin. We went with his grandparents who also took us to Niagara Falls after the regatta was finished. We stayed in the Embassy Suites with an amazing view of the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. We went down to the falls to view them from the Table Rock with Grandma and Grandpa Bradt. Being as this was my first time to the falls it was beautiful. Chris and I decided that we wanted to take the Journey behind the Mists and went down below the falls. We walked all the way down to the last hole in the falls after Chris said we could go out to the lookout and get wet after we explored the rest of the Canadian falls. We then went to the second hole where we were all alone and he was leaning around me. He then pulled away and got down on one knee with a pretty little white box. I freaked. :D He didn't say anything cheesy or tacky. It was a simple "Marry Me." I kept saying "Thank You" and "I love you." I didn't even say yes until we were walking down to the hall to the lookout. I got a beautiful little white gold ring with our birthstones (amethyst and peridot) in the shape of hearts with two diamonds around it. I love it! I am so excited to be engaged and in love with the best man ever!

Perfect Fourth of July

My FI proposed yesterday! It was absolutely perfect. He sent me on a scavenger hunt to all of our "firsts", first kiss, first date, first time we met. The last place ended at our restaurant where we had an amazing lunch and he proposed. I am super happy. The wedding will be December 10 of this year so I have to get busy! Sooooo, my boyfriend proposed this afternoon!!! His proposal was so sweet. It was at home in our apartment. He had a bunch of red roses and then talked about our relationship and our life together and then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! I saw so shocked I just dropped to the floor with him and hugged him for a minute before I could finially say yes and he gave me the ring!

I'm so excited and happy and totally shocked. We'd been talking about it for a while but I wasn't expecting anything to happen for a few more months. We're thinking Fall 2012, but I don't want to pick a date until I know what the openings at my church are for those months. My ring is a 1 karat diamond with a sapphire on either side. It needs to be sized because it was his grandmother's engagement ring. I'm bummed I can't wear it much until it's sized, but it needs to be done.

Our proposal story

Yesterday my then-BF and I checked in to a hotel for the 4th of July weekend. When we walked out onto the patio, he got down on one knee, showed me the rings, and said 'What's your answer' (in a sweet way, of course). I said, 'Well, you haven't asked me a question yet!' :)

He asked me to marry him and I said yes. The rest of the day was a blur of phone calls and surprises (he had several of our friends fly in from all over the country). I'm the luckiest woman in the world!

He designed the rings himself, using stones from my grandmother's engagement ring. He did an amazing job!

I have been engaged for a while now, and our wedding is almost here, but I wanted to share my engagement story with you all (it's kind of funny!) and hear some great stories from others.

My fiance and I live together now, but I only stayed at his house every weekend at this point in our relationship. It was a weekend, and I woke up at his house and he was gone (I'm a dead rock when I sleep). I called him immediately and he says "Oh, my dad needed my help this morning. I'm actually on my way home." So I brush it off and help myself to a bowl of cereal, plop down on the couch in my PJ's, and turn on Spongebob (my favorite cartoon! lol)
He comes home and sits on the couch with me. A few minutes go by, and I'm still stuffing my face, my hair is a wreck and I have on some old, ratty VS sweats, and my eyes are still glued to the TV.
He says, "I really love you."
I say, "I love you too."
He says, "I want to make it official."
And at this time we were talking a lot about engagement so I didn't think nothing of it...that is until he pulled out the ring and got down on one knee!!!!
I don't even think I said yes I was so excited. He teared up and I almost threw my cereal across the room trying to hug him! He had actually gotten up early that morning to go ask my dad for my hand. Best day of my life (so far!).

Anyone else got any romantic/sweet/funny stories to tell? :)
