We are getting married at the local drive it. My original idea for an altar has fallen through. Now, I'm out of ideas! I want something that isn't going to get lost in front of the big screen. We can't project anything onto the screen b/c it is still set up as an analog projection.

Chatham Bars Inn- Boathouse in October?

We are planning a small Cape wedding for the second weekend of October. We'd like a water view, and are considering a tented event at a private home on the bay, or the Chaham Bars Inn Boathouse. We love the Boathouse, as it is simple and directly on the beach, with both indoor/outdoor capacity. Most of the pics I see and comments I read from other brides who have used the boathouse have been from Aug/Sept weddings which are clearly warmer months. I'm worried that our October timeframe might prevent us from being outside for the ceremony or any part of the event, and that the actual boathouse itself would be a little cramped for both the ceremony & reception (we're having approximately 50 guests)

Has anyone had a bad-weather wedding at the Boathouse, and if so... how did the space work for it?

I am having a beach wedding with around 60 guests. I want to have assigned seating, but I dont think that having escort cards would be a good idea, as I dont want them to be blown off the table by the wind! What are some other ideas for a seating chart that can be used for an outdoor wedding? TIA!!

I am planning our wedding for next year in june or july and wanted to do the ceremony and reception in a tent. But the issue I am having is trying to locations that have the space for a tent thats about a 40'x80' to seat about 200 to 250 people.

I am looking any information to find nice locations and the people to talk to about renting the space to place a tent, i have tent rental information already just need to find nice places to consider to place the tent.

This is my second marriage. My fiance is the love of my life, my soul mate. I want to get married outside. And my original plan was a destination wedding. But my fiance wants his immediate family and few best friends there. Any ideas? We love the outdoors, water, campfires etc. And a wedding with close people approx 20 is fine with me. Our current plans are very expensive and I cant see spending that kind of money.

Hey there! I am having my ceremony on a beach in CT. I don't expect it to be too loud (the water is Long Island Sound and the waves aren't outrageous like they would be in Rhode Island or something). I have about 100 guests. I don't want to have to yell at my groom so that everyone can hear, but I'm also not sure how workable it would be to have a mic out there.
Any of you have experience with this?

Hi ladies, I know this might be more of a "local" question, but the WV board is about dead! lol

Has anyone gotten married on Blennerhassett Island (in the Ohio River)? It is a WV State Park, and I searched the entire state park website and not one time does it mention weddings!

I know some of you ladies are using state parks in your areas, so what did you have to go through to get permission, etc??

We got married recently (6-16-12) on the Black Eyed Susan Paddle Wheel Boat in Baltimore, MD

The price was awesome, service was magnificant, food and catering including the cake was all included as well as perfect set up had the ceremony dockside and cruised for the reception we were lucky and had the blue angels air show and opsail sailabration going on during our cruise for added entertainment. Everything was wonderful, not one complaint!!! Highly reccomend this as a venue and reception all in one your guests will be impressed, the price wont leave you broke our total wedding including clothes for the entire bridal party, decorations and all catering, set up, cake, cruise, ceremony and captain as our officiant was under $3500 you can go all out or be very simple the staff will do whatever you need to make sure everything runs smoothly.

I'm having an outdoor country wedding Sept.3. I have less than a month and still can't find something affordable (I'm on a tight budget at this point) to cover my hay bales with. They are just the typical square ones, but I have 100 that need to be covered. Does anyone have any ideas that would be under $200???!?!!?

We have a beautiful park near us and can get permits and reserve 2 spots (1 covered area, 16 picinic tables +1 uncovered area 26 picinc tables) for about $300. There is no stage or gazebo. We are expecting about 150 people and will enough room for 2 buffet lines. The weather at that time of day and year is usually pleasant. We obviously aren't looking to be too formal but I don't want it to look like a company picinic or bday party either. Am I trying to be too cheap? Is my cost cutting on the venue going to cost me more $ in the long run? The marriage will be ours but I'd like the wedding to be enjoyable for everyone. Should we suck it up and get an indoor venue with real tables? I know someone out there has done this, any ideas would be great!

Outdoor Wedding - No Tent

This past week I made the decision to hold my reception in my parent's back yard. It's really magical, with beautiful landscaped gardens, willowy trees, flat and spacious. We also have a bathroom right off the back of the house, a little shed for drinks, a small raised porch for a DJ. . . . so essentially it's perfect!

The only thing is. . . . I really don't want a tent. I've looked into tent rentals, and I am not opposed to them asthetically or monetarily. . . but I would rather have the reception under the stars, hang lights on all the trees. . .make a really magical evening garden wedding. But I live in Maine, and the weather is not very predictable. In the summer it's warm and more dry, but there are always a few weekends here or there that rain. I really don't know what to do. Do I rent a tent, pay a deposit, and then cancel if the forecast looks ok? Or do I not rent a tent and then if it's going to rain, rent one last minute?

when to decorate for outdoor wedding

Our wedding is early August and outdoors at our house on the deck...do we decorate the night before or wait till that morning? The wedding is at 1:30pm so I would prefer not to have to rush and decorate that morning when everything else is going on and I wouldn't be there to help...also afraid that it will rain on all the decor though...maybe just play it by ear on the weather when time gets closer...just stressing a little about it and seeing what others did in maybe the same situation??

Well I just got engaged, me and my fiance and trying to find a cheap place to get married. I was honetly hoping to just find a pretty field where I could rent a tent and just do it out in the open, we are both very out doorsy people. like a grass field or a place with a lot of trees honestly I'm up to any suggestions I have time to find something but I was just hoping I could get some ideas from you guys.

So what I'm looking for is any big fields (flower, grass, trees) anything that you know of that I could rent or use even if it's farm property and I can rent it from a farmer. I don't really want a venue that hundreds of people have used I want a field that's just outdoorsy. If you know of any venues that are outside that you think would work well to that aren't to expensive I would also like those ideas, Thank you anything and everything helps.

We'd particularly love a place that has accomodations but isn't necessary if close enough. Barns seem to be great but are hard to find. I am trying to find a vendor to rent chairs (preferably white), some tables, and possibly a tent as out wedding is outside in January (Central CA, so there is a chance it could be beautiful weather)...

I've gotten quite a few price lists, but I'm not sure what is reasonable, and what is ridiculous. What's a reasonable cost per chair? per table? for a small-ish (backyard wedding) tent?

My reception is going to take place in a barn, but my ceramony will take place outside behind the barn! The way it is set up is you have to walk around the side of the barn to get to the ceramony sight. I was wondering if you guys could throw some ideas at me on what I could do to decorate the pathway. Its not the Isle way I will be walking down, just a path for them to get to their seats! On one side of the path there is the outside barn wall and the other side is just grass... so I was thinking of using shepherds hooks with mason jars hanging, but i have no idea what to put in the jars...
So any ideas? I'm not stuck with the mason jars and shepherds hook idea, so im open to anything!

Oh yeah and my theme is romantic wester with lace and the colors are red orange and creme! Thank you!
