Hi all,
FI and I have just found this really awesome pavillion at a venue we were looking at. It's covered and there are pull down "windows" in case of bad weather (obv the pavillion is covered).. has anyone here had a reception outdoors in September (it'd be 9/1, so I mean... JUST september.. nearly August)? Does it get cold? Is it too hot? I'm nervous to commit to outside.. any advice?

Wedding in New Orleans

Trust me. I've read every post regarding New Orleans wedding sites - but nothing really fits my requirements.

*25-30 in attendance
*would like small outdoor ceremony but open to anything indoor & intimate
*would like to rent venue
*would like to get outsider caterer

Can anyone help me with some recommendations? By the way, I'm from Illinois so I need a little help :)

Tent/Aisle Decor

I bit the bullet and put a deposit down on a tent for our June 2 wedding, We'd decided to do it outdoors and even though we could've moved it inside the reception hall if it rained, everything would have been cramped and just ruined, in my eyes.

Now---I have a tent... with chairs... and that's it... Do we need to get some of those paper lanterns or something to decorate the tent a bit? (And if so, where can I get them for cheap!?)

Also--I was thinking I would use rose petals on the grass to create an aisle -- but freeze dried petals are almost as expensive as real ones and definitely not as budget friendly as silk ones. Any alternate ideas on how to create an aisle??

So, after much searching and looking, I think I've FINALLY found where I'm getting married! :) The problem is, is I need advice/help with decorations. We're having an April 26th wedding (around 12 noon), and our colors are pink/white/silver. I'm open to any and all suggestions! :) Should I use an aisle runner? Flowers on the chairs? We're having a very small wedding (about 30-50) people. Here's a picture of the venue. :) TIA!

Aisle runner alternatives

We are getting married in my parents' backyard. The aisle will not be straight, but will have to curve to a degree as the arbor is not directly in front of the doors we will be coming through. I originally thought we would be fine to not have a defined aisle and I'm not worried about sinking heels being an issue (all flats and wedges!) versus fabric being a major trip hazard. Then I found THE dress... It has a train, and I don't really want to drag it all over the grass :( What are some 'not too expensive' ideas I can present to my parents?

I am having an outdoor wedding in June 2013. I am a huge fan of TOMS. I don't know if any of ya'll are familar with them so I'll explain. TOMS are little cloth-like shoes that are simple but cute. With each pair of shoes you buy, a child in need gets a pair too. I think it is a great cause. Since they actually have wedding styles, I am considering wearing these at my wedding. What do ya'll think? No one will actually seem them anyway because my dress will be long.

Outdoor Wedding - Heels or No Heels..

I am getting married at my aunt and uncles farm. They have a brand new gazebo and it is going to be amazing. The only question I have been asking myself is heels or no heels?

Im afraid that the heel is going to sink in the grass (Im going to have to walk behind the garage and then behind the guests obviously to the gazebo). What if it rains before or during the ceremony (heaven forbid)?

I was thinking that since I am not a girly girl really in any way shape or form, I would get some converse that match my colors (love them and they are comfortable) but my parents are adament about keeping it "classy." I just don't want to sink or fall flat on my face.

Anyone have some suggestions?

IM trying to figure out what shoes my bridesmaids shoudl wear. the dresses are short, black and satin-y. Since the ceremony will be at a golf course, i wanted to use embellished t strap sandals but I'm just not finding the right ones.

Shoudl i just ditch the sandals for heels? will they sink in the golfing green?

Hello, I am having a rough time deciding on main colors for my wedding coming up in summer 2013. My boyfriend/fiance (we aren't engaged yet, but will be this spring/summer) will be going to Home Depot to look at different shades but I am still wondering if green is a good main color along with another color even though the wedding will be an outdoor wedding in a lush garden at an estate with natural greenery all around. My favorite color is green but I worry about having it be an intrical color for the wedding since there will be plenty of green in the scenery. Also, should we stay with gender neutral colors or is it ok to implement a shade of pink or purple? Thanks!

I am having a problem deciding on colors, decorations, and the little things. I am having an outdoor wedding in august and want to do a color scheme that is bubbly without being preppy to match my personality. I am allowing kids at my wedding so most of my list will be able to make it and I do not know what to get so theywill occupied. I want an open bar and a photobooth but my FH doesnt like either idea and I dont know where the middle is in order to comprimise. Any advice will be extremely helpful. Both my and my FH favorite color is orange but dont want it to over power and be citrus-y. Thank you

Hi there! So I am getting married in September. Our ceremony will take place behind an old barn (its beautiful) and reception will be under a big white tent close by. I am wanting to have a bbq type feel for reception food but dont know how to pull it off without looking too "backwoods". haha! Any ideas? Help!!

We are getting married outdoors on the evening of June 2nd. Our weather here is unpredictable... just last week, it was upper 50s, now it's in the 20s. For the KY derby (1st Sat in May), one year it could be 80 and sunny, the next year it could be snowing. All of this to bring you into my dilemma... Should I take a chance on Mother Nature's goodness? Or should I book a tent just-in-case?

I called around about a tent and any funds paid would be non-refundable. 1/2 money is due to reserve, the rest is due 2 weeks before the wedding. I don't want to spend that much un-budgeted $$ if we don't need to... But I would hate to have to move everything inside the reception hall if it rains.

I'm torn! Help ladies!

My ceremony is in a church but my reception is outside at 7 p.m. I have lots of ideas for lighting on the tables but none of them create a large amout of light. I want to have dim lighting but I dont want my guests glued to their seats in fear of faliing over something because there is no light to see anything. Have any unique ideas of how to create a good amount of light?

My fiance is a Turbine machanic so we travel all over the us. We are getting married on May 26th 2012 yes in 3 months!!! This is all I have done. Have the ceremony site, have the reception site, dj, and cake, I have to order my dress yet, get my invites, my problem right now is CENTER PIECES. Right now I know I have 16 80" round tables. I have picked out not ordered all my flowers but I don't know how many flowers to order for the center pieces or what size vase. these are the flowers I picked out from afloal.com Pink Hydranga bush (I figured I could cut the flowers off the bush) 9" Pink Peony, 22" SweetPea spray Pink, 22" Gerbera Daisy Spray Choc Brown, 25" Tiger Lily Spray Choc Brown. also should I go with all tall center pieces or should I go with tall and short???

We'll on Sunday July 15, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. I will be renewing my vows to the man of my wildest dreams who's done a HUGE 180 degree change since splitting up back in August of 2011 for at least 3 1/2 months. We finally decided after being apart and growing as an individual that we needed to renew our vows since we never had the wedding like most people have the first time around.

Tent Lighting Ideas

Hi everyone -

I've read through some of the recent posts about DIY lighting outside but I was wondering if anyone had experience or ideas about lighting needs inside a tent. Our wedding is in July (sun sets at 8:30) with the ceremony at 3 and the reception ending (officially) around 8 probably. Weather permitting, we'll have the tent walls up the whole time (tent will be about 40 x 80).

We have about 35 paper lanters with battery tea lights, but that wont be bright enough for the tent, I don't think. We're happy to rent lights if that's the best option but I don't really know what the alternatives are! I can't imagine battery tea lights in paper lanterns would be bright enough, unless we had a TON...Thoughts? Experiences?

I just typed a long post and it didn't work and now I have to start over!! grr! Ok, I need help with centerpieces. My dress is ruffled (http://allurebridals.com/Store_ProductDetail.aspx?pid=FG446I264857cheFe403), my cake is going to "match" by having ruffles and possibly a brooch and/or flower, which will be a peony because that is what kind of flowers I am going to have. My colors are pale pink, pale yellow, and grey. I'm wondering what kind of centerpieces would go well with the kind of "romantic rustic" theme we are having with our ceremony being held outdoors on our farm and the ceremony being indoors at the local legion hall (we live in a small town...pretty much the only option!). I don't really want to do submerged flowers or mason jars because they are overdone/don't seem to be what I am looking for. Any suggestions or pictures would be fantastic. Thanks!

My cousin Galina is getting married in September this year and as the MOH, i am now helping her choosing the dresses. We decide to buy the dresses from forherandforhim.com since i had very nice purchase experience with them before.(Already posted somewhere else about my incredible dress journey with them: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/got-my-wedding-dress-love-it-so-so-much-with-pixs) My cousin has the body that can rock almost every type of dresses, so we are thinking of buying a mermaid/fit and flare style dress to totally show off her body. After a few days of searching and discussing, we are now stuck in two dresses, both look very pretty and we really cannot decide which one to buy. I actually wrote a same post on weddingbee (a similar wedding forum) and seems people there all like the first lace dress. But my sister is sorta a halter fan and she thinks the second dress is also very attractive. So dear knotties, please help us make the decision, thanks a million!
