Is anyone having an outdoor ceremony also wearing a veil? If so how are you preparing incase it is windy. I saw a video recently and the poor girl had to keep brushing her veil out of her face. I'm thinking of doing a cathedral (I think that's the name for the long one) veil and also having little gem things on it to try to weigh it down but I have no idea if that can compete with potential wind.

Thanks!!

Good morning everyone. My fiance and I have decided to get married on our 19 acre farm. We are in the beginning stages but I have a few concernsthat I need some opinions on.
The first is if a tent is necessary. I dislike the idea of a tent, and I did my weather research, it hasnt rained the past 4 years on this particular weekend. The weather will be around 80 maybe a little warmer as a high, and in the mid 60's in the evening. The ceremony will begin around 5:30. Is a tent necessary for this? I will take care of the bug issue, so we should be ok there, but I want to enjoy the views of the pastures and stars at night. Especially during sunset.
My other concern is, do I need flooring? I prefer the look of the grass but I am concerned about women in heels. I am going to have a semi-formal wedding and assume many would be wearing heels. I know there is a similar post and I read through it, where most stated for the ceremony it should be fine. But what about for a reception as well? Another posted a similar cituation where her heels got dirty and she sunk into the grass but it was only forthe ceremony. Had it been for the reception also, it would have become annoying. I'm really really leaning towards no floor but I dont want to be selfish.

And third, if I decide against a tent, can I still have a floor if it seems necessary?

Thanks for any replies, suggestion, etc

Hi everyone!!

I need opinions. So far, wedding planning has been an absolute nightmare, from budget cuts to dresses out of stock etc.... However, I think I found a venue that will fit very nicely in our new budget.

THIS IS MY ISSUE

Is it tacky to have a wedding at a park? It is beautiful, has a river, trees, tons of grass and flowers. I will be bringing in a pole tent, a dance floors, tables, etc. It does have a playground on one side and some relics. Is that weird or better because the kids will have something to do? I am also a bit worried that random people will be coming in and out since it is a a nice park and will be during the summer. Also, no indoor places at all. Just the tent.

Am I worrying to much or will these things be problems?

Thanks!!!!!!

My fiance and I are trying to find a venue on a tight budge, So I suggested asking his aunt and Uncle who have a lot of land if we can do it in their back yard. They have a beautiful property and I would love to have it there, well when I told his mother (whom I love dearly) she suggested that we have it at her place and kind of insisted, actually, well the problem is that they don't have as much land in the back and the front yard is on a huge hill. So, I would prefer to have it at his Aunt and uncle's, but I don't want to hurt her feelings, and once she's decided on something, she's decided? How do we still ask his aunt and uncle with out hurting her feelings, or god forbid, cause a huge fight?!?

I live in Tampa, Florida so the majority of the outdoor venues are on the beach... and I do not want anything remotely related to the beach.

So I've been looking for venues in the Tampa, Sarasota and Orlando area that would fit a large (approx 250-300 people), rustic, good ole Southern family wedding with lots of trees for the outdoor ceremony.

I'm not sure if my dream can be made a reality.
My wedding is in September and we are having a semi-formal outdoor wedding in the afternoon at a resort, then moving indoors after the ceremony. One of my FI's groomsmen has a strange condition where hair doesn't grow on certain parts of his body (can't remember what it is called). My FI's suggestion is that all the groomsmen wear fedoras to hide the bald spots on his groomsman's head (which he is very self conscious about). I have never seen him without a hat EVER in the 3 years I have known him. I have even seen him sleep in a hat!! I don't really like the look of fedoras or any hats in ceremony pictures and they are definitely not what I pictured in my wedding at all! I don't want to make him self concious standing in front of 100+ people, but I don't want hats either! Are there other options or am I being silly about this? My FI doesn't think its that big of a deal and thinks it will make the wedding more fun and laid back. HELP!

So we are getting married at a state park. Our guests have to go through the little gate check, and check in. I knew when we booked the area, that I would have to provide a guest list so that the gate keeper could check off the arriving guests and take a vehicle tally (we have to pay for all the wedding guests' parking). However, I reviewed the area and booked it when the park is normally not charging (it was winter) and I did all of the paperwork over the phone. So the other day, I went to the park to take some pics and measurements for the decorations, and they gate keeper was there taking money. When I explained that I was getting married and was just checking, she still made me pay. On my way out, I asked the lady (just to make sure I was clear on how the guests checking in), and she was very rude to me!! Should I get her a gift and give it to her on the rehearsal night...maybe would sweeten her up? If so what?
