I have planned on having my wedding July 2011 on the beach but plans have changed a bit because of budget and a few other minor issues so now the wedding ceremony and reception will be taking place on the lakeside. My original thoughts were having starfish and sea glass as part of the decor is it ok to stick with that now, or do you think it would be kind of weird to have beach theme on the lake? Let me know what you think i am a bit confused and overwhelmed.

We are having our wedding at a rustic outdoor campground. Unfortunately, when we planned our small wedding we did not anticipate anyone in a wheelchair. It is important to us that this person attend and be absolutely comfortable. My dilemma is this: the venue is accessible the bathroom is accessible the only this not accessible is the building we are holding the reception in. To get to it, you have to walk down a dirt path that is rocky and slopes slightly downward. We have no idea how we will get a wheelchair down there. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

So this is where I want to get married...I was thinking having the ceremony on the grassy area and me and my FH would be standing at the top of those steps for our vows. I'm not sure what to put there though. I don't want an arch because really I think they are overdone.

This picture is behind where I wanna have my ceremony. I think this would be a perfect spot for a dance floor but I'm also thinking I should have my food and tables up there as well. Maybe I could use it for both. Also I was thinking I could use the steps as places to sit as well since I'm on a budget and I'm going to have a ton of little kids at my wedding. We are having an outdoor wedding/ indoor reception in October. We picked navy blue and then accented with typical fall colors (golds, reds, oranges, etc). What do you think?
Also.. We both really want to do a unity candle and will resort to sand only if we can't find a way to make candles work outside. Does anyone have any suggestions on that matter?
Thanks so much,
Jordann and Nathan

Ok so our wedding is in the late summer, it is country-ish, laid back, outdoors. We wanted a cake that matched. And it just seems the more typical (but still gorgeous) 3 tier cake with a traditional cake topper and ribbon on each layer etc. just stood out, but not in a good stand out way. I saw this cake in a magazine for Hilary Duffs wedding, and I really wasn't sure at first, but after a few glances and thinking of how it matches that "warm-fuzzy-rustic" theme... I thought it went really well!!! And It's like a Simple Elegance which is what we are going for.

PLEASE i NEED OPINIONS ON WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE GOING TO GET "WTF" LOOKS WITH A CAKE LIKE THIS..OR WOW THEY DID SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND IT FITS WELL... I would really appreciate constructive feedback :) Thank you all so
much.

Ugh! I'm so stressed! I'm on this teeny tiny budget and all the locations here in Boise are over our budget. (Unless I want to get married in the church that I have left (no longer believe in), or stress out about whether or not 5 hours is long enough for everything) I have looked and looked and I know there had got to be something out there in our budget, but it must be hidden. We don't have a church that we attend regularly, and I'm getting tired of looking for locations.

I was thinking about using my future MIL's backyard, but, we are getting married in April and (as always) the weather can be unpredictable. So, of course, we would probably need a tent, and I'm sure there is a lot more that I can even think of. Does it all add up? Would it be better to get a location?

Her backyard isn't really that big, but we aren't having a lot of people there anyway. We might plant a lot of flowers for decoration, but we aren't planning on having a DJ or catered meal.

I'm just not sure what to do! Thanks in advance!

Okay, get ready to get your thinking cap on because this gets a little complicated! :)

We are planning to have our wedding in late may. No invitations have been sent out yet, but we are more in the planning stage.

The theme is a rustic, country wedding. The ceremony is inside but the reception is outdoors.

Our invitations/rsvp cards/thank you notes/envelopes (basically all stationary products) are kraft which is a recycled paper and is like a light brown color. We are threading binder twine (which is used on hay bales) and I would like to, along with the binder twine, thread some colored ribbon through there. The only problem is I can't decide on what colors I like yet go with our other plans AND the season! haha

The one thing I have to make sure I get is the guys want camo vests. That works fine with the brown of the invitations. I would like to have tanish bridemaid dresses, and I found some super cute ones that aren't too simple but aren't crazy either!

My favorite flower is the tiger lily, which is a summer flower, but I feel like the brown and orange will look too fall like :/ I know the brown is a lighter brown, but I just don't want it to clash with the season!

Would it be too much to do the camo/tan with orange AND another color?! I thought about yellow to bring a little more late spring/early summer into it, but I just worry then we're getting too crazy! haha

What do you all think?

We actually have been trying to work around our schedules for months to get the wedding planned, it came down to we had less than 2 weeks to get it planned. WE decided that since it was such a short time, we would invite everyone to a bonfire. We live across the backyard from his mom and dad. Between the 2 yards there is so much space and with it being fall and just how we are the bonfire idea fits us perfectly. I've been married previously and the big showy white wedding dress and all that just wasn't me. This time in addition to being 5 months pregnant I wanted to be comfortable. We decided screw tradtion, blue jeans and boots it is. Our colors are just a mix of all the fall colors, red, yellow, orange, green, brown. Instead of your traditional wedding decorations of flowers, I decided I only wanted mums & leaves. His parents have monkey bars in their backyard, we are decorating the monkey bars in garland (leaves) and ribbon, and this fine mesh fabric. We are going to have cake as is tradition (5 months pregnant and someone said cake there was no way i was cutting that out), but no caterers or anything like that, we're doing chili, shredded chicken and sloppy joes. Sides of potato chips. My friends have all agreed that they think the idea works so well in to who I am really that its goin to make it that much better. We are in fact having a bonfire. we're going to have straw bails around the fire and we're going to have straw and pumpkins, gourds, etc. And to top it all off I can't resist the fact that it is supposed to be a big surprise!!!! Now, I do still believe in something old, something, something borrowed, something blue. And by gosh, I got nothing borrowed. I've got 2 old my aunts leaf earrings, and a handkerchief that was my grandmothers before she passed, my blue hello my jeans, new my blouse for the big day, but nothing borrowed!!! lol. AHHHHH!!!!

Hello my fellow knotties, Im having trouble figuring out how to plan an outdoors wedding and how much it is going to cost Its going to held at my parents farm . I have 10k to spend thanks to my parents, Im having 130 guests (i cut it down from 175 so im not cutting it down more), I need toilets, a tent, 130 charis, tables, dance floor, twinkle lights, utensils, and of course the usual stuff...flowers,dress, DJ,etc. Can I plan a wedding in less then a year with this budget? I keep seeing weddings that cost 25k and it makes me feel like I dont have enough. Will this be enough to plan a outdoor wedding with or should i just rent a venue? And will it be hard to plan an outdoor wedding? What do I need to do to thr farm to prepare it for a wedding? THANK YOU!!!

Hello. I usually post on my club board, but I need some expert advice when it comes to outdoor weddings! I am wondering what people have come up with as either really creative alternatives to unity candles, or ways to keep the candles from blowing out outside. I've heard of rope, water, and sand and really don't want to do any of those. Ideas? TIA.

Anyone who had an outdoor wedding wore heels?? Our wedding will be this December in my grandparents backyard and I'm worried that if I wear pumps that my heels will stick into the ground while I'm walking. Plus I can't find any cute wedges that don't look too summery and I've thought of the idea of flats but I'm 4'11 and need some height.

Also, my grandmother, who is very opinionated about EVERYTHING, said that my bridesmaids shouldn't wear black because they will look like vampires walking down the aisle. Our colors are red and black and I wouldn't mind a red dress for them but I haven't found the right color red that I like.

Help!
