We have an indoor hall booked for reception but are doing our ceremony outside. We found a picnic shelter that we really like. The shelter is a story up and the view is amazing from it. The only way up to the shelter is stairs. The seating for the ceremony would also have to be picnic tables because they can't be moved. Is it okay to have a ceremony site that can only be reached by stairs and picnic tables as seating?

hello ladies,
I have my little heart set on a specific venue. It would be an outdoor ceremony on a private beach, and the receptiion is both inisde and outside. I am in love with the idea and the place, but I am sooo scared of rain. I live in Miami, so it rains alot. We are having our wedding in May of 2011. You never know with Miami weather. It mainly rains in the summer, but this May we had alot of rain, so that made me nervous. I would push my date up, but with school/ and work reasons I can't. So what should I do ladies? Should I just pray that it doesn't rain on my wedding day, and stick to the venue that I love orrr, play it safe and do it in a place that I'm just ok with. I do have another place in mind that is my second best option, and I wont have to worry abour weather, but I have always wanted a beach/casual wedding. AHh I dont know what to do!!!

I am pretty much only decorating my tables for the reception and maybe a few streamers and balloons for the reception. I'm worried about the ceremony site. I don't know what to decorate the aisle with other than rose petals. I don't know how to decorate the chairs or if I should even bother.

I know that no one there is really going to care except for me.
I'm having my ceremony and reception in the same place which is a park by a lake. There is an indoor clubhouse that can be used but I was hoping to have it all outside weather permitting. The ceremony is at 3 pm in August (which is actually nice here in Oregon) and the reception is immediately following. The wedding is fairly small about 50 adults and 10 kids. We are grilling salmon, steaks and chicken with a buffet for salads, breads and sides.

My question is that since it will pretty much be light the whole time and will likely not go until later than 9 pm, should we have a dance floor? My friends and family keep asking about it but I just can't envision it. I plan on having background music on but not a dance area. There is a swim area and playground for kids and we plan on having frisbees and such.

What are you doing? Should I include dancing (I won't personally miss it but I want people to have fun)? And if so, how? Indoors?

TIA

We are getting married March 5, 2011, and I cannot figure out what colors to choose for our wedding! We decided to have the ceremony and reception at our friends' house. The property is 7 acres, with a lot of trees. Our ceremony will be down on a flat area on the property that is grass, but the reception will be up on the back deck. The deck is old, red brick, and the house is painted a reddish color. I don't like orange. :) What colors do I pick!?

I am leaning towards a mauve/blush/champagne scheme.. will this clash with the brick? The other colors I like are that blue/green/teal color and brown and champagne.

Help, friends!!! :)

Thanks!

-C

Looking for ideas! I am getting married in August of next year on the beach (no shoes, the whole works). I was looking for alternative ideas to having a bridal bouquet to walk down the isle with. Our ceremony will be fairly short and I feel that flowers are so expensive for just a few moments in the sun. (I know that bouquets can also double as centerpieces, but we are going a whole other direction with that as well!).Thanks!

I have been tring to pick out my wedding colors and have had a miserable time with it. :( We're having an outdoor reception and an indoor reception. I've been looking at orange and purple with dark red and/or light green accents. But I don't want the purple and orange to look gaudy. Any suggestions? I really don't know what I'm doing at all!
