I am thinking about lining our aisle with satin sashes draped from sheppards hooks instead of tulle. It would take 7-8 to do a 50-75 aisle, which is outside. I am thinking about using a satin aisle runner, tacked down with garden fabric tacks, and have it in place before the ceremony. The satin sashes would line the sides and block off the front of the aisle and prevent people from walking on the aisle runner before the bridal party marches. I know most people say skip the aisle runner outside but I love the look and really want it. colors and themes

i have a major problem. my fav colors r red, white, and black. my fiance's fav color is purple. i was thinking of using navy blue with silver accenting but now i am not so sure. can someone please help me. the wedding is in october. this is number 2 for both of us and the last for both of us also, so i want everyting to be absolutely perfect. major problem besides color and theme is financial. we r on a very tight budget and would like to try to be under $400 for everything. i dont have to worry about a dress but everything else.

What should I do?

Hi, i'm having a September outdoors wedding and wanted to do terrariums as the centerpieces. Has anyone done this in Florida? Does the humidity cause a lot of condensation on the container? In the wet season of September, do you think this would have an effect? What do you guys think?

I have looked at Quick Candles, Save-on-Crafts, Candles4Less, etc. and the shipping costs are killing me.

I'm looking for votive candle holders (clear or mini-hurrican) and white unscented cvotive candles. I'm hoping not to have to pay an arm and a leg for shipping.

I've also looked through what Amazon offers -- no dice so far. Ugh.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what they plan on doing for the cermony music....I know that I could get a sound system from my dj but would really perfer live musicians but didnt know how this would work....I would prefer a piano and violin....any ideas??

Hi,

My fiance and are very recently engaged. As such we are in the very beginning stages of planning. What we do know is that we want to have a beach wedding. On the beach or overlooking, preferably, but also a nice outdoor event.

I was looking for recommendations for venues (most specifically in the South Bay area). If it were on the beach we would prefer a setting that does not lend itself to the possibility of lots of outsiders (people sun bathing around the ceremony, etc).

Any suggestions would be very welcome.

Guests standing at ceremony?

We are having our ceremony at a venue where it can be indoor or outdoor. I've always wanted an outdoor wedding. But, the outdoor only holds 70 people (we are inviting about 200) not everyone comes to the ceremony, and who knows what the weather will be like. So, We have the indoor site reserved, but if no one has booked the outdoor spot the day-of, we will have access to it. If the weather is beautiful, i would much rather get married outside..... but if too many show for the ceremony, some will have to stand. What should I do?

Hey everyone, I need some help here.

We're getting married May 22nd, it will get dark at 8:45 and probably be 70-80 degrees. We have our venue all night. The ceremony and reception will be mostly outdoors if it's not raining.

I want to do it at a time when it's still sunny outside, and when we'll have a little bit of daytime left in which to party. But, I also want the party to go into the night.

So, if it gets dark at 8:45...what time should we have the ceremony? 6? 6:30?

I want to have our reception in his back yard. We have parking planned out in the grass and will do a small valet service for older guests. We would rent a tent and it would be on grass. My mom is so worried that ppl will be mad or not show up if it its raining and they have to walk to the tent or park in the grass when its wet. Im not sure how to fight this battle.....Any ideas??

We are having an outdoor ceremony and then a tented cocktail hour, reception and dance.

We rented the biggest tent available and are now concerned that it will not fit all of our guests. So we were thinking of getting a second, smaller tent (40x40) for the cocktail hour and the dance.

We would have the two tents next to each other and have it set up so traffic flows easily from the cocktail hour to the dinner back to the dance. I only want dinner in the big tent, after speeches we will send everyone over to the dance area for drinks, dancing and dessert.

We are having a dessert table, and I know it should probably go in the dinner tent, but I would like it in the cocktail area, because we are doing something really cute and personal with it so obviously we want people to see it. Also, we won't have a bar in the dinner tent, so having the desserts in the cocktail area would help get people over to the dance instead of sitting at dinner longer.

We will have a few tables for people to sit and eat dessert at, then a lounge area in by the dance floor and right outside the tent so people can sit outside (weather permitting).

Anyway, I hope I explained this well enough that it makes sense! Do you see any problems, snags here that I am not seeing? I am just looking for a outsiders point of view. Would it be smarter to stick with one tent and risk it working out? I don't want people to remember being crowded and uncomfortable when they think of our wedding!

Now, I've been searching for wedding colors for the past two days, and I think I may have come up with something. I would like for the bridesmaids to wear gold dresses with deep plum accents (maybe the shoes or a ribbon), and I want the groomsmen to wear gray tuxes with the deep plum vests and ties. I want my fiance to wear a latte or tan tux with the deep plum vest and tie. Our flowers of choice are sunflowers.

it doesn't have a picture that shows where we are having the reception (which will be indoors in the large living area), but it'll give you an idea.

I like anything that is unique and different, becaue I want my wedding to stand out. For our reception, I think I will add navy in the mix here and there (maybe?)
I'm thinking plum tablecloths with champagne/cream toppers, navy napkins, silver chargers, sunflowers with lanterns for centerpieces, gold chairs.

I guess I am kind of going with an elegant country/vintage vibe for the whole shebang. Do you think the colors I have chosen will work? Or am I crazy? I can picture it in my head, and in my head it looks lovely, but I guess I need some assurance. Sorry for the long post, I'm up for any suggestions!

Umbrellas if it rains?

We are having an outdoor ceremony (at a small gazebo) with an indoor reception at a different location. The ceremony location doesn't have an indoor backup area in case of rain. That time of year isn't too rainy, but I don't want to not plan for anything. I would like to still have the ceremony at our current location as long as it's not pouring or a thunderstorm. I'll get umbrellas for the bridal party, but do I need to get umbrellas for all of the guests (~80)? And for the bridal party, should I get 1 umbrella per "couple" (bm & gm) or 1 for each person?
We are on a tight budget of $5000 (hoping to include honeymoon in there too).

Red is my FAV color!!!! I always wanted to have a fall / winter wedding with a nice deep cranberry... well - now the wedding has been moved to JUNE in WI. We will probably have it on a pier on a lake / river. NOW what do I do? I don't think I can do my red anymore. What colors CAN I do? soon to be hubby LOVES me in Red and almost cried last ngith when he saw this beautiful Red wedding dress in the Brides Mag....
I was thinking now we will have to do more of a blue, green, brown, cream colored theme...
