Looks like the fiance and I are spending the night in as he has to work and I am helping my future MIL put together the family party for tomorrow... Dinner is almost done and the house is clean... Just trying to deal with an annoyance that a roomie has caused by leaving dishes in her room... *sigh* That is the least of my worries... Right now the wedding venue and him and I putting the downpayment on a house soon is pressing and so is the dr's appointment that I scheduled to get my shoulder looked at and pray that it can be fixed without surgery or pills...

Seriously annoyed by guests that will not mail back a stamped RSVP. What is the deal with this??? Are there lives so busy and important that they don't have time to check a box and drop the thing in the mail?? It is so stressful to plan a wedding alone (which is what I am doing) and I can't take much more stress. I am ready to call these people and tell them to not even bother coming. Sorry, just venting here. Anyone else had this problem??

<END RANT />

I had a few invites left on the inlaws side to invite so FMIL offered to. I gave her the information on how to do them and she helped me do the others, so I thought she understood. However, she made some mistakes in regards to how to address things so I had to fix them. That's the backstory.

So I just opened up the first envelope and there is a registry card to bed bath and beyond in there!
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luckily she only addressed about 12 invites even though it should have been a total of about 24. So I can fix this. I know the registry information didn't go in the others because I PERSONALLY stuffed them.

I just text and said, "I fixed all of the invites. Thanks for all of your help! :)"

She text back, "I'm sorry you had to redo some of them, also, I forgot to mention I shoved registry cards in those ones because FFIL thinks it is rude make guests call and ask where you are registered."

I text, "Well, you really aren't supposed to include that in a wedding invitation, so I'd prefer to take it out. It isn't that hard to make a phone call. No worries, they can figure it out."

Then FFIL CALLS ME!, "you really need to open all those invites and then just retape them (waaaahhhhh) and include your registry information. Otherwise people won't know where you are registered and will just buy whatever."

I reply, "No I don't think they will, but if they do, I'll figure it out."

He gets louder, "Oh, so they can just buy you whatever and do whatever they want because you refuse to put a registry card in there, that is just stupid. Just plain stupid."

I snap, "I don't want them in there, end of story, it is poor etiquette and it isn't something I am willing to compromise on."

When we ended the call it was obvious he was perterbed. So I'm sure he will be heading FI way today during lunch (they work close and have lunch together often). What the heck, even my family knows that is a no-no and they recommeded a dollar dance! Sheesh.

*Sigh* Dadzilla is back. Part Deux. With a vengeance.
Vent over.

Because my stupid self didnt think about censoring it. Now. This is all well and good except that I was not ready to tell my father. His nickname is Vikiing for a reason! I live in this house with him, and announcing my recent engagement will result in lectures about how I cant live in the house when I get married and how I cant afford to get married will likely ensue. Nevermind being happy for his only child to be getting married, no, it will be a constant lecture about how money is more important that getting married to the man of my dreams. And you cant argue with him. Oh no Lord forbid you argue with him. So. I am sharing how stupid I am and how hellacious its about to get in my house in the next few days, so please by all means someone laugh at it because I need to find the humor in this!

We're generally a pretty chill group that talks about what's going on in our lives, what's for dinner and an occasional wedding update or question mixed in!

I'll start: I'm Angel, I live outside Toronto. I work with children with autism and am working on a master's degree. Most of the time when I'm online, I'm in class or avoiding an assignment.
My wedding is in September at a flower farm. Very laid back, but some elegant touches.

Tomorrow FI and I are going to meet with the caterer to sample some food and make our final decisions...And our Save the Date magnets are coming in today from Vista Print so I will probably address those out. I was dead set against getting them because we have such a short engagement anyways, but FI kept insisting he wanted them so I went ahead and ordered them last weekend to give to family members at least. I have to admit, I am pretty excited to see them! Also, we finally booked our honeymoon last night...Wahoo!!!

Buzz--saw your post last night. Yes I LOVE doing plan ahead meals.
Wow, ladies, we're slacking these days!

Just wrote a test for my Behaviour analysis course, glad to get that done. I have a test in this class almost every week, which is a little intense.

Working 12-6:30 today, so I'm going to try to clean the kitchen before its time to go to work. FI decided to make chicken wings for dinner last night (which were delicious) and it has resulted in an epic mess. I hate cleaning the deep fryer!

Going dress shopping with one of my bridesmaids on Saturday, which should be fun! I'm looking forward to another check and taking some time away from work/school.

Have a great day!

No Monday post yet? Ok, I'll start this one.

How was everyone's weekend? How's your Monday going so far?

I feel like I was very productive this weekend. H and I booked our trip to Maui for this August for a family destination wedding that we're going to. Now that it's officially booked we're starting to get even more excited about it. Saturday night we stayed in and relaxed. H was sweet and reserved the last Twilight movie for me at Red Box since he knew I wanted to see it. We watched the movie, gluttonously ate a large portion of pasta and had frozen yogurt for dessert. It was a nice night. On Sunday I went to a farmers market, afterwards I bought a bunch of new spices at Fairway Market (a really good grocery store, similar to Whole Foods), went to a baby shower, and cooked a delicious dinner that I plan to blog about this week. It was a surprisingly nice change from my normally extremely lazy Sundays that I normally have.

Hi ladies,

I made it to work, after some slight craziness in the snow. Had a scary moment when I stopped at a light and all the snow from the roof of my car slid onto my windshield. (I always clean it off, but couldn't today because the snow was SO wet and heavy!)

I have a couple of hours between clients this afternoon, so I'm going to try to watch some lectures and maybe get started on my paper that's due next week.

FI's working late tonight, so I'm on my own for dinner. Haven't really given it much thought, i'lll probably pick something up.

I'm trying to find a wedding band for my FI, but he has large fingers... We measured at Weisfield Jewelers and came up with a size 15. We keep finding rings that he likes and then find out that they aren't in his size and it's beginning to get really frustrating for both of us. Does anyone have any idea where I can find a decently priced, larger sized ring?
