Looking for an Artist Who Uses Natural Make-Up Brands in Boston, MA

Hello,
I'm getting married in October 2013 in the Boston area. I'd love to have someone else do my makeup, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to pick a makeup artist and how to find someone who will use a natural make-up brand (something like Bare Escentuals). Any suggestions?

Ok so I am wearing a Maggie Sotero "Tori" I have long thin hair that doesnt hold curl unless it is saturated in hair spray. I am really considering doing 3/4 up with loose waves and a flower. That being said do I still wear a veil or no? What about if I chose a headband? Im terrible with these things lol. Updo and accessory ideas welcome

hair ideas for a backless wedding dress?

Hi everyone

Im new to these boards and searching for a bit of inspiration for my wedding hair! I have a dress which is pretty much backless (keyhole lace back during the day and backless for the evening reception), so I have narrowed it down to an up-do, but I dont want it too severe/ formal. Im also having a birdcage veil on the day.

Has anyone had the same style of dress and found a stule which works particularly well? I have long, naturally straight hair.

p.s. W- day is June 2013 so 4 months and counting!

Do I tip on the hair/makeup trial run?

And, if I do tip, how much? The standard 20 percent, like when you go get your routine haircut/color?

Hi ladies, looking for some suggestions or thoughts on this one.... I have very straight hair & usually wear it that way. I do like to curl it or pencil occasions & my fiancé really wants it in a 1/2 up, 1/2 down curled style for wedding day. What are people thoughts or what have y'all done for engagement pics?? Lips - stick or gloss?

I am getting my hair/makeup done by an artist, but she said that it might be best if I bring my own lipstick or gloss so I can freshen as the day goes on. I am typically a lip gloss kind of girl, but I want my lips to stand out a bit more for my wedding than just everyday lips. Nothing too drastic, thining of a soft color. Any recommendations for products? I think lipstick might hold the color better and not be sticky, but I do love the feel of a smooth gloss since my lips tend to get dry. Ideas??

I have long, thick, heavy, straight hair. The wedding 'do I want is a curly updo with curly whispies framing my face. Is it a good idea to get it permed? Is there an alternative, like an overnight set that would work?

Armpit hair removal

I need suggestions for removing armpit hair. Shaving sometimes leaves bumps, and because my hair is dark it can be seen under the skin, making it look like there is stubble even though I just shaved. I can't afford laser hair removal, but haven't tried other methods (waxing, nair, etc). Any suggestions? I definitely don't want stubble to show in my strapless wedding gown!

So I just got a haircut... and the stylist cut off way more than I had wanted...
I have been growing out my hair for the wedding, and now its barely past my shoulders.

I'm worried about giving enough time for everything so wondering what time everyone else has scheduled for themselves. Please mention if it is on-site or off-site (which then please include travel time) and what you are having done since some things take longer.

I'll either be doing my own hair or find a salon within 10 minutes to do my hair (down with a headband but not sure beyond that) and my make up is getting done on site. Anyone in a simialr situation would be extra helpful but everything gives me perspective

I've been getting pimples on my chin, and need something to clear my skin up and keep it clear. I get very dry skin, so I need something that won't dry my skin too much. Any ideas?

Does anyone have any suggestions for At-Home Tooth Whitening that works? I have used things in the past, but I've found that they cause my teeth to become really sensitive, so I'm just hesitant to try something again. One of my favorite bloggers gets them, and they look amazing, but I'm worried that you won't be able to see the difference on me, or that they won't last. I have never been to a makeup artist to have my makeup done. Even when I stood up in weddings I always did my own because I don't wear a lot of makeup, but I'm thinking for my wedding day if splurging and having my makeup done by someone else so I don't have to worry.

The airbrush makeup places near me start at $65 for a trial and then another $65 for the day of makeup, which is really expensive to me but my mom has offered to pay for it if I want it.

What do you girls think? I know airbrush makeup is supposed to last longer and make your skin look flawless, so is it really worth it?

I wanted to post my makeup artist information in case anyone in the area is looking for a makeup artist for their wedding. Her name is Brittany and she did an amazing job! I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a makeup artist. I found her through her website www.mymakeupobsession.com I tried so many makeup artist from MAC to other freelance artist in the area and just when I was starting to get frustrated I was referred to Brittany. I'm getting married in August 2014, and starting to debate whether to do my own makeup and nails or have them professionally done. I know it's still early, but we're getting engagement pictures done and I figured this was a good opportunity to try out a makeup and nail artist. The thing is, I'm trying to be as economical as possible lots of student loans and I don't want it to be a waste if I can do it myself. I do my nails decently all the time and I already know I don't want fake nails, so I wasn't sure if doing my own was better. As far as makeup, I get compliments on my eye makeup all of the time. I never use primers or foundation or concealer or anything blessed with good skin but I don't know about using it for the wedding. I obviously want to look and feel beautiful, but if I can do that myself it'd be better on my wallet : So I guess I'm wondering what other people think about this? I would totally spend the money, just don't want to feel like it was a waste.

Outdoor, summer makeup??

My wedding will be outdoors in the very humid month of June, and my face is always the first part of my body to start to sweat... Does anyone have any suggestions for the longest lasting makeup, preferably for oily skin?? I have already sampled Make Up Forever, and I was not a fan. So any other brands or techniques would be greatly appreciated!!

I have pretty sensitive skin and a fair complexion. I'm doing my own makeup for the wedding. So anyway...9 days to go and my face decides to erupt...FI says it's not that bad, but I feel like I look like a pizza. Anyone have ideas on how to clear it up fast? I've been sticking to my usual regimine of Simple facial wash, alcohol free toner and recently added Neutrogina rapid clear but it's not helping.

That's gonna leave a mark....

Bride on a budget with bridesmaids traveling and want to keep prices affordable. Looking for a makeup artist that travels to the house to do the make up. Wedding on June 15th, 2013. Needed anytime between 11am-330pm while we are getting our hair done. 4 girls need make up.
